ANEWHOPE
Those that suggested we don't need Sibbs or that he shouldn't walk straight back into our team looking more moronic by the day. Also how much longer will the Houston apologists defend his inability to find tactics/selections that can break down well organised & disciplined teams like Dumbarton. Consistent selection of Kerr & Taiwo together make that an even tougher case. Plenty of shots & chances today but once again Mr Stubborn's negative selection meant we were chasing a game at home.

ANEWHOPE
Surely there aren't any apologists left? Trust me, there are plenty. Some on here (like me) don't half whinge and moan, however there are plenty that can't see the woods from the trees. Some that see any criticism of the club as an act of betrayal. Mr Hype for example is a specialist at this.

I apologise however if it wasn't him.
ANEWHOPE
You need to remember to check whether there is tongue in cheek sometimes on here And some that like to patronise...

ANEWHOPE
Dont think I was being patronising there. But then you do have form for simply taking my posts to mean whatever suits your agenda. That was in fact my attempt at the tongue in cheek you referred to but didn't have the desired effect, I'll stick to knicker wetting negativity instead. We disagreed recently on one issue so think it a little unfair to generalise that I have form for reinterpreting your posts. However maybe you have a better memory than I.
ANEWHOPE
Fair enough. Didnt pick it up. Anyway...back to the matter in hand...Houston must go aye? [emoji847]
Bigbri Bairn2
Surely the board can find a pound or two to freshen us up before the window closes. If not I think we are in trouble this year due to having a very thin and fragile squad as today showed
PipoIsABairn
I know it was essentially pre-season friendlies, but when Houston started Taiwo and McKee in the middle in the Betfred cup games, we looked so much better. Against Stirling Albion he brought Kerr on and we almost immediately lost a goal and looked a mess. I can remember thinking then that I hoped that would burn his fingers enough to stop trying it, sadly it appears not. I cannot believe there was a single fan inside the stadium today that would have agreed with his starting midfield, even with the injuries. Harris might not be the team improving player we all wished for, but having him on the right and somebody other than Kerr in the middle made a big difference today because it meant we were able to play with balance. Had that been made earlier I think we might have gotten something more from the game. Against Dumbarton type sides I'd love to see McKee and Sibbald in there together. If we are expecting to boss the ball I don't see the point of all these holding players. Afraid I also have to agree regarding Loy right now, he just doesn't look quite right and O'Hara looked sharp when he came on.
PG.Colossus
Anyway...back to the matter in hand...Houston must go aye? [emoji847] Absolutely. He's lost the plot. His squad, team, formation and tactics are the product of someone that either doesn't give a feck or is completely delusional. That said, the board will never bin him because he's meeting their ambition to the letter; play-offs on their conservative budget every year with no danger whatsoever of ever going up.

Play offs my arse unless I'm blind. We'll be lucky to finish fourth and will still have the one point this time next week. Dundee are shite and they didn't want Loy, that should have put the fear of death into a decent Manager. But because he did well a few seasons ago we dive in. -
Shadwell Dog
4 minutes ago, Bairnardo said: Thats shite on both points. I wouldn't hammer loy as he's simply not fit. He is quite obviously struggling after the injury at st mirren where he played pretty well setting up our goal. Unfortunately Houston obviously has little confidence in giving one of the others a go from the start and so he starts loy even when not 100 percent. He seems to love giving players contracts and then never playing them. Can only think it's because it saves him the effort of finding others.
wullie robb
So Loy is still the player he was ? And Top four is a stick on. Ok I'm reasonably happy now.

I wouldn't say we'll make top 4 but I'd wait till loys fit before giving him pelters. He's only 29 so should be at the top of his game.

Hopefully he gets fit and starts producing but I'm doubtful he will. Only my opinion. Edited August 12, 2017 by wullie robb

He never really had a chance last season. Scored 3 in 4 starts at dens and yet still got moved on to st mirren where he was excellent. First season under hartley he scored 9 in 21 starts which is good going at that level but even then he couldn't get a regular game due to hemmings form McCann never even gave him a chance before he bailed out to us. His link up play in the first half at st mirren was first class and Austin should really have scored more. The difference in his performance against Livie post getting his ribs fecked was night and day. Im far more worried in the fact that austin cant finish a fish supper at the moment.
