Jan Polanc with a fantastic breakaway win in today's stage as the GC men eyeballed each other up Mount Etna.Bob Jungels into pink.

All eyes on Nibali tomorrow as the stage finishes in his hometown of Messina.

Rohan Dennis abandon and Javier Moreno chucked out after an altercation with a sky rider so down to 193 riders.

Must have been some altercation, considering the rammy between Polanc & Van Rensburg at the top of the preceding climb.

The term 'not happy' was a bit of an understatement!

Was a good stage yesterday - was there any reason given for the argument at the top of first climb? Had a gentleman's agreement been broken?

By the way, for any fans who don't have Eurosport, the nightly highlights are on Quest (another Discovery owned channel) at 10pm each night this week. Not sure if they'll be on later than that though. It was the 1 hour edit and just the right length and amount of analysis I thought.

Amazing. Someone thinks he's won it with a lap to go. What a fucking idiot. He'll be all over the interweb tomorrow.

Just saw it on BBC breakfast, suppose his sponsors won't be too upset as they are getting plenty of coverage.

Agreed, that was good today. Lots of good little battles with the breakaway and then Mikel Landa having a wee go (he's officially co-leader for Sky, isn't he? I wonder what would happen if it came to the two of them against Quintana, Nibali or whomever? Who is supporting who there?) before a beautiful finish in terms of scenery, course and action. It does just want me to pack my bags and move to Italy though.

Another motorbike incident has taken out Landa and Thomas and a few others just before the final climb, the bike had parked at the side of the road and was clipped by one rider who took out another dozen or so riders.

Yep, absolute chaos, quintana gained massive time on thomas and yates but there are other contenders now, claims for the race to be neutralised but why should they, would there be such a furore if it wasn't some GC men taken out?

The incident itself caused by the police bike, for some reason he had pulled to the side of a narrow road just as the battles for position where taking place, kelderman hit it first and took out the sky train.

Only 190 riders finished the stage so i assume kelderman was badly hurt and had to abandon.

Geraint Thomas doing remarkably well in the time trial after the bad crash and exertions of Sunday's stage.

Spoke too soon.

6+ minutes down on GC, he'll just be going for stage wins.

Quintana went to claim back a few seconds today but dumolin matched him well on the climb and took the stage win. Be very surprised if the Dutchman dosen't seal the deal from here especially with what looks like an almost downhill time trial on the last day.

Tough final week with plenty of mountains but quintana would need about 4 minutes on him going into the last stage and i can't see that happening.

Another cracking stage. Dumoulin reeling Quintana back in and dragging Zakarin and Landa with him was a fantastic sight. Certainly looks like big Tam has a great chance unless Movistar can attack him on one of the multiple mountain stages with the time trial to come. To be fair the Giro has been excellent so far. Really good course design by the organisers and some great racing by the main teams (other than Sky after the crash).

Can't wait for the Stelvio and the Motirolo!

What a stage that was. If Dumoulin loses this Giro by less than 2 minutes it would be a travesty after that.
No respect for the pink jersey shown by Movistar, Bahrain & Katusha.
Certainly added to spectacle and Dumoulin to keep the pink after that ride was immense.

Whilst Domoulin looked for a shitehouse, it would appear they were further up the road.
Scandalous disrespect for the Maglia Rosa.
Hope he wins it now, be great if he could win it with enough time to take a dump.
