It was a tactical substitution on Saturday, we went 3 at the back and brought on Mackin up front to give us a better threat in attack. To follow on from this how's Jack McMillan been doing? I saw he scored but was subbed off at H/T on Saturday.

Taken a bit longer than Penrice for Hoppy to give him games but he's coming on for 45 mins now, either starting or as a 2nd half sub. Looks a good player, good going forward as well as in defence. He came on at HT against Dunfermline when we were 3-0 down and stopped Aird running riot down our right wing. Hoping we can keep him after January because he's starting to get more game time and looks like he'd be a useful player for us.

Good to hear he's getting game time. In honesty I'd be surprised if we weren't open to him staying on for the rest of the season we've got Cadden and Tait for the RWB position and Liam Grimshaw can probably fill in there if needed so unless there's an injury crisis like Thistle are having just now I doubt McMillan would really be anywhere near the first team. Which isn't a reflection on him just more that we have quite a few options in that area of the park.

Would be more than happy for both to stay until the end of the season, Penrice more than McMillan given what we've seen so far. Great energy and ball control for such a young player, very composed a lot of the time and has done a decent job in CM in Jacobs' absence. Looks the part at LWB for us and set up the third goal on Saturday with a great move, would be shocked if he isn't back at Partick in January given their troubles. Can't really add to what's been said about McMillan tbh, not really been in the team but was a standout away to Dunfermline and really changed it for us, despite the result. Think he'll be a good option against pacier teams looking to counter.

How has Penrice been since signing? I heard Hopkin say that he's been playing centre mid, is that right?

Amazing, what a player he is. Hopefully stays on for the season.

If you get the time have a look at our highlights from the Brechin game on the match thread, he does absolutely brilliant for the third goal. Rips the defence to bits and sets the goal up with a brilliant pass across the box

Saints vs Livingston postponed due to international call ups.

Oh well, weekend's rest after Saturday's game against ICT and the Scottish Cup tie with Glenafton. Can't complain too much.

Didn't notice your post earlier, been a couple of Thistle fans asking how Penrice was doing.

He's playing really well, stands out in games just now, think he's had 2 great assists now too, against Falkirk when he pounced on a loose ball and cut it back to Mullen to tap in, and against Brechin on Saturday where he was played in by Jacobs but still had a bit of work to do spinning round dragging the ball past 2 players and cutting it back for Mackin to tap in. He'll be a big loss for us when he goes back to you in January.

It's taken long enough but good to finally be free from events like this. Funny to look back and see where we are now, it makes you glad to even still be in a league like this or even still exist given the past we've been through.

Hopefully Hopkin stays and takes us forward, onwards and upwards

Good to hear he's doing so well.  I can't imagine there's any chance he'll be allowed to stay beyond January though given our dearth of left full backs.

He is out of contract in the summer though...

Could be more realistic than we think, it's not a secret he's from here.

He'd have the option to stay close to his family, guaranteed first team football and at a club that's starting to really like him as a player.

First team football has been/is huge for him right now, developing as a player at a club that has developed many stars.

Think everyone at us would love to take him permanently but he might want to take the chance at Partick and try to stake a claim for a permanent 1st team spot there. He might stick his neck out and ask to continue his development here in January as he's settled as opposed to going back which would be huge for us but we just have to wait and see.

Just seen the Development team is up 2-0, some front line for them though, Mullen and Mackin, and they've both scored lol.  Not seen the rest of the team, are McMillan, Knox, Longridge, Jacobs and Carrick playing too.

Mullen and Mackin could be getting a trial run for the ICT game on Sat.

I see Cadden is playing too, hopefully he gets through it without any problems and will be fit to play on Sat too.

The postponed St Mirren game is being played Tues 28th Nov now. Going to be a tough week with QoS away on Sat and then St Mirren away Tues, rounded off with Falkirk at home. If we can get through those 3 games undefeated and winning at least one of them then we'll be doing well.

Bit out of the blue but wonder if we'd be able to take a punt on Goodwillie in January, can't be looking for a hell of a lot in wages at Clyde. Don't know what they'd ask for but 10 goals in 16 is a great return.

Good striker with a lot of experience, we're certainly not against bringing in certain characters :D (we did sign Roberston as well)  but reckon he'd be the kind of player we need at a good level. We looked like we missed Danny against Brechin and he couldn't really do much on his own against ICT.

Not sure what his contract is like at Clyde but surely it'd be to the end of the season? We had a good run in the cup and are doing well so far, would be a decent way to reward Hopkin given the funds are available

But he signed a 2 year deal at Clyde in the summer so not gonna happen

Depends on what he wants to do with his career, he might want to live the quiet life and just enjoy his football.

Could go to the Championship and prove himself again and get a bigger move, we've got a habit of players moving on to bigger things so teams tend to keep an eye on us.

The meltdown on the Lions' Den forum would be spectacular.

If we're still within touching distance of the top spot in January it would be worth taking a punt on a decent striker though, isn't much between teams from 1st to 5th and we're really missing a prolific striker this season. We're doing fantastically well sharing the goals around the team to keep winning games but that bit  extra from a striker could make all the difference,

Lets see if we can get Derek Riordan in the same deal.

If you're interested in a 2nd division forward wouldn't it be best to go for Mark McGuigan, compared to Goodwillie's one goal every 135 minutes, McGuigan's one goal every 75 minutes looks a lot more impressive.

Oh and yes; I'm sure we're going to be willing to pay out on a transfer fee.
