Losing Buchanan was bad enough, but Mullen going feels like we've made a mistake, we'd still have got a development fee for him in the summer, and a decent chance of 3rd or 4th place finish. Without Mullen we're a bit 1 dimensional up front, this will make it even tougher to stay in the top 4 now.

Any ideas on a replacement? Should probably be looking to some goal scorers in League 1, or even look into how Jack Hamilton is developing

Josh Peters is out on loan too, def need one of them to come back and do something up front for us, Toddy and Mackin have similar styles, but Carrick is no Mullen,

Carrick is fairly useless, I've said it for a while now but if our replacement for Mullen is Carrick then we can kiss goodbye to our progress this season. He runs about, but doesn't have half the ball control and composure Mullen does

Mullen will be 23 in the summer, so we'd have got nothing. Brilliant bit of business by us considering that.

If he doesn't want to be here we're better off letting him go and getting a fee for him. Interested to see who this Premiership striker we're looking to bring is, hopefully a goalscorer.

He's clearly been pushed by the club. Has absolutely no ambition if he's joining St Mirren.

Time for Carrick to seriously step up. Josh Peters has barely done anything at Forfar. Barely makes the bench at times.

Still would've rather have kept him till the end of the season, also, a higher league finish would've got more than the 5 figure fee from St Mirren, so the jury is out on it being a brilliant bit of business.

It's done now though so no point dwelling on it, we need to get a decent replacement, hopefully this Premiership player who's coming in on loan is going to help get us the top 4 finish.

They didn't hang about taking Mullen's pic down from our squad section in the OS.

I'm starting to feel like his mysterious injury before the Glenafton game was just shite, probably told them he wanted out in January and Hoppy has shouldered him out the team

Pretty sure it affect how much prize money we get, and by a considerable bit if we finish in the top 4..

The club cant afford to  take gambles though, look at where that got us before. I'd rather we played it smart and safe than gamble on a top 4 finish when we're overachieving as it is

Understandable. He's not in our squad.

Aye but I've seen them taking days before putting up a new signing or taking one down, didn't let the grass grow on this though. Feels like a bit of bad blood went on over this, something happen to sour Mullen's relationship?

Only guess is that he refused to play before Glenafton? Demanded a move then and said he wasn't playing - but who knows? He's been a brilliant player for us and we got a good deal, no point reading too far into it

Over achieve or not, we're where we are on merit, and would have a good chance of staying there, this is going to have an adverse affect though, so imo it is a gamble releasing him too.
