  1. Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Young players coming through is likely the main route for us to get back to the premier league. It's something many of our support need to remember when complaining about lack of signings. If we pack the squad full of signings then there is less opportunity for young lads to get a chance.
  2. Walking Down The Halbeath Road

It's doing my head in a bit that people are complaining about the lack of action. Folk need to understand the player market operates differently now, especially at our level. A lot of the free agents from the top league will be holding out to see if they can get a deal there. Once all the squads are settled with the top sides then those players left out then become available to teams like ourselves, St Mirren, Falkirk etc. There is also the financial implications. Clubs can save a good bit of money not having to pay some players for a month. At our level 10k-20k is a decent amount of money that we can't sniff at. That is the reality of things.
  3. Show us yer 2017/2018 Strips

Pars Home Kit to be unveiled tonight at 6pm. Rumour has it that it is Black and White.
  4. Brechin City Season 2017/2018

    GTF day for this pish.
  5. So what's the word about Thompson's plan? He going for admin this summer or going to see how long season ticket money can last in the hope a winning team can get crowds in? People i feel for most are the backroom staff. United must have a decent non-playing infrastructure that will have to be gutted this summer as it is a cost they surely cannot carry.
  6. The New Raith Rovers Thread

We managed three seasons full time in League One, but that included one season with two visits from Rangers while having a youth team after Admin, and then two seasons while having the lifeline money from fans (just under 1000 fans chip in monthly to the club). It was generally accepted that if we didn't get promoted we would have been going part-time. The thing going against you guys is that we also had crowds of 3000 with most of them season ticket holders. With your crowds it is going to be a challenge. Ground maintenance alone swallowed a lot of our budget.
  7. Pars v Doonhamers

CLb sadly have no intention to install a 4G pitch. I brought this up at a supporters meeting and was first told that there were already too many of these pitches in the area so wouldn't get funding, but then they admitted it was because football should be played on grass. This was Garmory who said this, but i have heard nothing that leads me to believe this has changed. Even though i think it is something we should be pursuing
  8. Pars vs. Doonhamers

We were very poor and didn't deserve anything. Those are the facts. One thing though is that the club has to contact the authorities in private regarding Charleston refereeing our games. He is a Falkirk fan with a Falkirk tattoo, could you imagine a ref openly a Celtic fan with a Celtic tattoo getting to ref Rangers games? Never in a month of Sundays was he going to give us a penalty for that at the end of the game.
  9. Walking Down The Halbeath Road

People need to remember Martin is a Centre Back playing Full Back.
  10. Pars vs. Doonhamers

That was my mate's dad, Hugh 'shuggy' Whyte. Top man who sadly passed away a few years ago too early. After meeting my mate in freshers week up at Uni, i told my dad that his old man played for the Pars (He's older than my dad). When i said his name was Hugh Whyte, he told me it's Shuggy Whyte! Got a laugh out of Hugh when i told him that.
  11. Eh Classico Rovers vs Pars

This reeks of the police making the call simply because they can. It's the same during the winter with games getting called off because there is snow and ice on paths (yip, no one goes outside when it is winter) simply because they can. Something needs to be done to address the police's attitude of ignoring the impact on fans when they are the whole point in the event!
  12. Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Fais who? Bring on the reign of Kovac!
  13. Townies

I thought it was Cowden fans that used the phrase Townies and that Raith fans started using it because they do not possess the intellectual capacity to come up with a name all by themselves.
  14. Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Anyone got info on the trialist who seemingly scored and has scored in previous games?
  15. Eh Classico Rovers vs Pars

Really can't wait for Saturday. Only thing that is tempering my enthusiasm is Hutton (or Sinclair-Hutton as he is known).
