  1. This pretty much sums it up. Needed to put you under real pressure by going clear or top at key moments late in the season but we could never manage it. Just a step too far for us. Well done United. Deserved Champions.
  2. Gives us some clarity at least. Thistle horsing Airdrie 4-0. Wonder if they are resting folk.
  3. The way we sit off teams in midfield and let them advance with very little pressure isn’t good for the heart, especially when we’re trying to hold onto a lead. main take from last night is that we’re far more threatening with Vaughan and Easton in there. Dylan can be infuriating wasteful but when he twists and turns he scares the shit out of opposition teams. The Play offs will be very tight and could come down to a moment of quality. We’re far more likely to get that with Easton and Vaughan on the pitch.
  4. Crazy to think we’ve won the head to heads against every team in the Championship except for Airdrie (and possibly Arbroath if we lose to them). Also crazy to think we were just one result away from sending United into their last two games absolutely shitting themselves, but fully expect them to get the job done today.
  5. A play off against a team we haven’t lost to all season or a team we haven’t beaten? Both give me the absolute fucking fear.
  6. Team is flat at the moment as is the crowd. Yesterday felt like everyone knew we’d fucked it in midweek and yesterday was the hangover. The real test over the next few weeks is for the club and Murray to lift the players and supporters to change is from a group who are on a downer for losing the league to a team who believe they can win the play offs. Not easy.
  7. Don’t think it was ever really the young team creating the atmosphere tbh. It was the whole support because the games were so exciting and we were playing brilliantly. Our performances have gone flat and now the atmosphere is flat.
  8. Forgettable game. Clean sheet and definite second place is a positive but we’re a shadow of the team from before Christmas. Plays off are totally wide open and could see any of us, Airdrie or Thistle in the final.
  9. Avoid defeat today, secure second and then start working out a settled 11 for the play-offs.
  10. You’d have to think Potter is already working on better defensive options for next season. If we don’t get through the play offs then Murray deserves another go at it without a Dundee United in the division, but there is a nagging doubt that being so easily schooled by Airdrie this season shows a general weakness in his tactical ability that could cost us in any title run.
  11. Thinking back on it, any hope went when Ashcroft got crocked against Ayr. With him and Watson or Murray in there we’d be a lot stronger, and that’s before you add the benefit of having Brown back in midfield.
  12. Airdrie deserved the points despite our second half pressing the panic button. They play attractive football and McCabe clearly has Murray outclassed tactically. Just need to regroup, make sure of second and prepare for the play-offs. Not confident though as we are poor defensively and a few minutes of madness like tonight and it’s game over. Fucking Rovers eh.
  13. So poor it’s not worth commenting on. Unless it’s a different Rovers the second half then that’s it done. No hope of beating Airdrie in a play off either. It’s the hope that kills you
  14. Happy with that. Pick up where we left off with no wind. If it’s not working then plenty of options on the bench.
  15. It’s the equivalent of the people who say two pish teams when their team loses. Pure sour grapes. If we did win it I’d be on the pitch not giving a f**k about the quality of the other teams as I’m sure United fans will be.
  16. We absolutely have to win tonight to have any hope of the title. A lot of people seem to think it’s over already after the defeat at Tannadice but I’m not so sure. Win tonight and it can start to put the pressure on them again. They need to win the title. Ours is a free hit.
  17. Football fans can be really fucking weird sometimes. If I felt like this after one of the most entertaining seasons in the clubs history, I’d honestly find myself something else to do on a Saturday.
  18. If you could keep it going for another three games that would be braw. Beat Morton, lose to Arbroath, beat United.
  19. Think we need some consistency. Same team and formation on Tuesday please.
  20. Three wins from three home game is what’s needed if we’ve any hope of pushing United for the title. So that’s one down, two to go. Keep winning and we can go above them when we play Inverness on the Friday night to put a bit of pressure on them. Have to beat Airdrie and Thistle though which won’t be easy.
  21. Not convinced that it’s over. United are away to Queen’s Park and Morton while we have three home games in the same period to get us both onto having played the same games.. If they even draw one then it gives us an opportunity to get back on terms. Needs us to be winning at home though.
  22. Comfortably beaten, no complaints at all. Had a sneaking suspicion all week that the whole rattled pish would backfire on us and so it proved. Team selection was bizarre and poor performances all over the field never really give us a chance. Think United neutralised our threats effectively with Stanton hardly contributing at all. Still not a done deal so we need to just keep going, especially to secure second place. And the c**t that threw a bottle. Please f**k off.
  23. It’ll be parked up in Kingskettle. They’ll talk about the drama of Uber Friday in Kirkcaldy for years to come.
