  1. Yes its about development, if its hard to manage times for all players without a spreadsheet then play regular friendlies as well as league games (especially since league game scores aren't recorded for 7's). Development is king and only fair every player at 7's gets the same time
  2. Totally agree, have the parents checked the price for other sports Many teams do sponsored events as well to help. I bet the parents don't moan when their kids get nice new kit etc etc.
  3. I don't think its too late daleman, i'm sure the juniors could still get on board, the community club have stated they want to work with all of the community so that everyone benefits rather than the town loosing out again I know they have spoken to the bowling club, schools and others. Who's to say the juniors couldn't still get involved or any other groups ?
  4. Perhaps the new manager will have new idea's to improve things. Need to be positive at all levels
  5. At U16 level, adult teams might start to ask better players to train with them with a view on further development . The community clubs U16 teams seem to be doing rather well. I understand there is adult teams in the community club as well and more asking to join. You are right a pathway right up to junior football and maybe further would be desirable. But armadale thistle didn't want to join the community club or join the project for new facilities. Your point on losing interest is worth noting but perhaps a pathway to a higher level of football would help ??
  6. Sorry its well known the youth side is very much alive and kicking in the dale with hundreds of kids from aged 4 upwards. The two big clubs falcons and sports club merged in 2015 under the new name of "armadale community fc". have a look at their website. The committee of the junior club were asked to join the club and an ongoing project for a new facility but declined. The community club have moved on but a chance of something better for all was missed though i understand the door was never closed. www.armadalecommunityfc.co.uk
  7. Would be good to find out officially ?? Its an opportunity to generate a wee bit interest agai? Within armadale, youth football has exploded with numbers tripling in last 5 years, youth teams winning leagues and trophies again, the juniors haven't faired so well over the same period. The opportunity of a new start important i think
  8. Any suggestions remain that until properly looked at, short term gimmicks if you like might increase attendances, more people in mean more coffees/food sold, more kids in mean more more food sold again since they can't go 5 mins without something. Armadale need the points to avoid going down again, anything that gets more than a few in the door worth a look to shout the team on. New manager maybe new idea's the "doon thevolley" facebook talking bout "winter offers" maybe someone is trying ??
  9. Has the club officially announced new manager ? If so "hopefully" shouldn't be the word re staying up. Now is the time for the committee to encourage attendance, what bout some half season ticket deal, free tickets for academy students or a competition for free tickets. Speak to the community club, i understand they suggested a season ticket scheme before for young players . "Pay what you want at the gate" weeks has worked before, leaflet new areas of the town, if you can't afford it, find partners, always others wanting to leaflet, competitons at half time..get the councillors out its election year, the list goes on.......get folk in they'll spend as well......!! No brainer ??
  10. A little birdie in one of the fine public houses of armadale this evening tells me stuart walker has the job
  11. Hope the young lad injured and being operated on this week is making a recovery. Todays result not the best, new manager in goal ??? Hopefully new year starts a little better for the team and a move away from the relegation zone a start.
  12. Just heard some boy who played in red and white to be appointed around the 25th ???
  13. Back to the thread, no news yet ? i'd thought maybe loose talk at the thistle christmas party last night might have revealed who'd got the job ??
  14. The town of Armadale has grown a fair bit in the last 10-15 years, there should be potential for growth but you need to ask people what would make them attend games etc, don't just ask 10 or 15 people but hundreds to get a clear picture and develop a strategy. i noticed the community club in armadale did sampling for their continued argument for a future facility, its on their website the juniors could do something similar to help build up numbers at games?
