  1. I'm sure he will. Nice guy too so hope he's not over his injury woes and manages to string a run of games together.
  2. Will be interesting to see what shape Archie starts new season in. He's always been a stocky lad, even at youth level. I'd be surprised if he's overweight,he's a personal trainer and PE teacher is he not!?
  3. I'll put my tuppence in here. It's highly likely that Darvel are paying anything around the £75-£95 pw max to players imo. It's the signing on fees that are the deal makers and I'm around 95% certain recent Darvel signing Ross 'Archie' MacPherson didn't sign for nothing. My guess? Around a grand minimum. I may be wrong here but I doubt it
  4. The signing on fee scenario almost always is the deal maker these days especially in SPFL lower leagues and becoming more and more common at top end of the Juniors.
  5. Not necessarily. I've heard of,especially among young guys trying to make the grade at senior level, sign what is essentially 'matchday' contracts. Contractual obligation will be for 3 or 4 hours, almost on a par with zero hours contract. Some clubs will try get round it by offering signing on fees at start of contract and /or expenses.
  6. Errr... Yeah that's what my post implies! There are teams in both SPFL leagues 1 and 2 where some players are paid as little as £30-£50 per week. Sometimes having a good paying fulltime job is the perfect scenario for a part-time player.
  7. It should be noted btw that many if not all top division Junior clubs actually pay MORE wages than more than a few senior clubs in both SPFL leagues 1 AND 2.
  8. Any news or statement forthcoming about whether Bankies move East next season or not? Seems fans and members are being kept in the dark. New season is around 6 months or so away.
  9. 3 clubs abstained on the vote did they not?
