I’m beginning to think that we are not very good!

I’m still not sure what a sporting director actually does. If it is identifying players that he recommends to the manager, then fair enough, but the final decision has to be the managers. I am old enough to remember the days when there was a selection committee who picked the team and the manager decided the tactics for that team. No manager worth his salt would want somebody else picking his team.

Anyway, moving on, what do the club have to do now? We have to sort out the problems first. It’s all very well having an objective (Premiership), but we need to get out of this league first. To quote an old maxim, it’s no good saying you are trying to cross the swamp when you are up to your Airchie in alligators. We need a manager who would have a free hand to make the required changes. THAT MEANS NO DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL. IIRC, Jim Jeffries and Chipper used to go all over to look at players, and this is hard work , but it payed off. The state we are currently in , realistically we aren’t going to change in 6 months . We need a plan and the club to be honest about the plan. Most of us are grown-ups and will accept the truth.

East Fife, Cowdenbeath and Raith have 5 stands, Falkirk, Shire and Stenny have 7(OK 3 of them are the same same stand) but ,as you say, factually correct.

When was the last time that we actually beat a team that were above us in the league?

Make no mistake, this decision is purely because the SFA/SPFL had to do something. They obviously can’t do anything that hurts the greedy, so a pointless gesture was required. If you watch the Peter Cook and Dudley Moore sketch where Pete tells Duds to fly over to Germany and not come back because they needed a futile gesture at that time, will get the point.

While Rangers (1690) are briefly out of the room changing into Rangers (2012). What chance is there of the other clubs banding together and getting rid of the ridiculous 10-2 voting system and then realigning the monies received into the SPL. If that were to happen, I don't think Celtic would be able to say that Rangers going into administration would have no affect on them. Maybe even having a 16 team SPL.
