The absolute worst thing about this act is the amount of people saying something then saying 'you probably can't say that anymore' . Well you just fucking said it so you can more than likely say it, though what you said while not being offensive just makes you sound thicker than the first shite of the day. Its been pissing me off all week but then I work in a place where a good percentage of people use the word 'snowflake' on a regular basis while simultaneously moaning about fucking everything.

Off The Ball - Is it good?
Swordfishtrombone replied to Buddist Monk's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
To be honest the main thing that really annoys me and I'm sure there is a lot more to get annoyed about is when Stuart Cosgove says Simon Stainrod was player manager for Falkirk. It only happens every 6 months or so but it does piss me off. Yet I still listen, out of habit. Looking at this thread it appears many more people have bigger fish to fry with them. -

The pass for the Montrose goal was inch perfect, I was all for blaming the defence at first viewing but it was a great pass and a brilliantly timed run an excellent finish. -

I thought Lee Connelly was excellent, I got the fear every time he got the ball. -

Hendersons goal celebration was great, love to see somebody so happy to score ,only rivalled in my time watching Falkirk by Richie Cadette in showing so much unbridled joy at scoring. His goal was from the same range as most of Richies as well. -
I for one welcome our new Welsh overlords.

I stuck a pound on them at 40/1 thinking it will be a consolation if it does happen, I didn't think it was remotely likely to till I saw the team. Absolutely bizarre to change the team like that unless its the challenge cup. Hope he makes big changes in the second half. -

Mines just paid out had Hamilton to score and Raith to win and a no on both teams to score. It was the Hamilton part of it that was unsettled for ages. They were still offering a cash out of £1.07 15 minutes after the game finished. -

He was at the very least a 7/10 every week at that point, had all the premier leagues fullbacks on toast. The first time I saw him during this period was a Tuesday night at East End when he destroyed them and it ended 4-0. I was young at the time but in my hazy memory he played better that night than the Hearts semi final. At that time in his career he should have been playing for a bigger team and had he been playing for a more fashionable team would have won a few caps. It is our good fortune that he played for us during that time and our even better fortune that he came back for his swansong. -

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/nov/08/suella-braverman-accuses-police-of-double-standards-on-rallies We are through the looking glass now. A Home Secretary undermining the police just to further her ambitions. She is genuinely loopy and genuinely dangerous. No competent government would allow her to be in charge of anything beyond counting paper clips. -

Drinking Establishments
Swordfishtrombone replied to Musketeer Gripweed's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
No doubt. I was from Clackmannan, went to Lornshill and worked at Safeway in my 6th year when it opened so knew lots of folk from the surrounding areas. I'd seen you talking about Somerfield and the guy getting crushed before, my pal Cammy worked there and was a witness at the hearing so you possibly worked with him. Treetops was okay, generally a good atmosphere in there . Nighthawks was grim. They had the cheek to turn you away if you had trainers on I saw a guy get glassed for dancing 'funny' in there. -
The annual fortnight of twats setting off fireworks at random intervals has started in Stenhousemuir which means Juno is on the lead all the time for all walks if we can get her out the door in the first place. She takes off like pre junk food/Dundee Utd Collin Samuel at the slightest noise because she is on edge at all times.

Drinking Establishments
Swordfishtrombone replied to Musketeer Gripweed's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
I saw more trouble in Alloa when I drank there as a teenager in the late 90's than I ever saw in Glasgow or Edinburgh. I think it was all quite tribal there with teenagers from Alloa, Sauchie, Clackmannan, Tullibody and the hillfoots all drinking in the same places., plus the young neds that used to hang about outside looking for trouble. The taxi rank was a war zone at times. I used to do the Treetops then Nighthawks doubler. I can barely fight sleep but I ended up getting dragged into a few scraps at kicking out time. The Meadowpark in Bridge of Allan and the wee shitty nightclub beside it could be quite mental too. I got saved from a tanking at the hands of ex Stirling Albion and Alloa player/psycopath Chris 'kicky' Wood there by a bouncer who took pity on me. I think I glanced in his general direction, so I can only blame myself. Bizarrely I also met Colin Hendry in there. -
That was also really enjoyable.

Juno T dogg still living her best life at 14 years old. She is a total vetproof mongrel rescue dog we got from the council shelter 13 years ago.. Whippet terrier cross, she used to catch squirrels but is now just loving her retirement of chasing tennis balls for 10 minutes before deciding she has had enough then strolling home for schmackos and a snooze.

I read that full thread those people are batshit and should be on a police watch list. -
Misophonia is horrible. I have it with people eating, sniffing and repetitive sounds. I have just about learned to manage it as an adult but it is hard. It goes beyond annoyance it is an irrational anger made worse by knowing that you are the one being unreasonable as the majority of people dont get triggered to that extent. I also focus in on the sound just to make.myself more pissed off. Its caused arguments in relationships for me because it can be hard to hide. The best advice I read was to be honest about it and leave the room if you have to. My girlfriend is very understanding about it . The difficulty is its very hard for other people to understand and you just look like a supercillious p***k. There are theories its related to ASD, which to be fair wouldnt surprise me with some of my other behaviours. Tldr I have it and its relatively trivial but a day to day ballache.

As this is also the Tom English thread, thought I should say I saw him outside the New Town Theatre before I went in to see Stewart Lee. He was talking to a young lad who had loved his 'in conversation' with Greame Speirs that was on just before. They were having a right old laugh. Seemed a jovial man. Apologies for the most boring post on here.
