  1. Here's me thinking he got the sack because we've been shite and depressing for at least a year. Sober up Stevie.
  2. He read some of his poetry before the Falkirk game at the end of last season. I really enjoyed it in person.
  3. Aye. Why the f**k not eh? Let the verses flow freely, even when the fitba doesnae.
  4. Aye, sounds like he's on his way to the Sons. Good.
  5. Time to start hitting out with outlandish and unsubstantiated nonsense, I think. James McFadden?
  6. I wish Stevie well too, but I have no confidence that he would have been able to turn things around. His departure was long overdue but, as a long serving manager in a very notable period in the club's recent history, he should go with our thanks.
  7. McCrorie has arguably been the best athlete that we've signed on loan over the last few years. Among the most mediocre footballers, though. Good luck to him with his development.
  8. The inclusion of Irish and Welsh teams in a pointless, squad-stretching, baw-ache competition is silly but harmless in itself. The inclusion of colt teams is dangerous, for reasons already discussed at length. f**k that and f**k them. The participation of the colts is enough to dissuade me from going to any Irn-Bru Cup games, and overrides any novelty factor from being drawn against new teams. I won't be attending these games and I'd prefer if our key players didn't either.
  9. Throughout our time in this league we've consistently shown the resolve required to pick ourselves up and escape from tough situations. During this time we've often had a non-demonstrative captain on the park. This leads me to suspect that it doesnae matter how visibly wired up the captain is. Barr played 70-odd games as we stayed up twice under his captaincy. He was evidently an effective leader.
  10. Glad to see him get a chance in the tap league. Also pleased he won't line up against us.
  11. My thoughts exactly. The black stripes detract from it for me, would be much cleaner if it was plain up there with the gold stripes down the bottom for variation.
  12. Sampdoria design is one of my all-time favourites. I'd be overjoyed wi that. Sonsdoria
  13. I'd like to think he was embarrassed at being asked to sign it. Most he did to earn his crust that day probably.
  14. Oh Mango, Well you came to the Sons after Raithy, To replace Darren Barr Oh Mango, At the back we'll no longer be shaky, And we need you today Oh Mango
  15. Good delivery with both feet. Helps his full-back. In ye come Tom.
  16. Yas! Always been one of those opposition players I'd like to see in a Sons jersey. Just like Kevin Cawley. Yas!
  17. Can Vaughan play wide right? Stirling's undroppable on current form and, presuming that Stanton played well in his favoured #10 today (I wisnae there), wide right's the only position up for grabs next week as a fit Nade or Fleming lead the attack.
  18. I just love watching the team express themselves, and playing without the inhibition that plagued us until Bonnyrigg. Remember Sparky's Cruyff turn yesterday? Under pressure from two opponents in his own half, he managed to escape and start an attack. Summed up the new mentality in one moment for me.
  19. Campbell sounds like a promising signing. I've no bothered with any of the friendlies so haven't seen him yet. I hope Fleming grabs any chance to play up top with him. Garry can drop back into the midfield if needed, so hopefully they can form a fluid and versatile partnership. Decent options up front. Hope we get cover/ competition for Linton at left-back now.
