  1. It's all a bit of a haze so forgive me if some of these details are inaccurate. I believe I was carried from my bathroom floor to the ambulance on some kind of stretcher like device and relevant checks were carried out there. After arriving at the hospital, some scans were carried out and it was distinguished that the extent of my injuries was not as bad as I had feared. After that I was sent on my way relatively quickly, I got a taxi home and immediately went to bed. There was no magic password, I suppose it must just have been a quiet night so I was dealt with swiftly. Not sure why everyone on here is so skeptical. As previously mentioned, I seriously overestimated the extent of my injuries and in hindsight believe the ambulance ride may have unnecessary. Better safe than sorry though eh?
  2. Sorry, I'm not down with my acronyms and internet slang, what does this stand for? I did not call the ambulance, the advisor handled everything for me. God bless her.I've never experienced anything like this in the past so I'm not sure what the usual protocol is or whether my experience was unusual. All in all, I am very happy with the service I received. As mentioned previously, I own a smartphone so was able to pass the time on P&B and other websites. I'm not sure why this is so difficult to believe?
  3. Not sure where you are getting your timings from but they are incorrect. I believe I was in and out in a little under three hours, not the one hour that you have stated.Thankfully I had my phone with me so was able to pass the time with you guys on P&B (it is a smartphone). Thank you for the company, it is the only thing that kept me sane.
  4. I was indeed in the buff. I did consider getting up and throwing on some clothes but, as previously mentioned, feared that I had sustained spinal injuries. I weighed up the options and decided that temporary embarrassment was better than potential paralysis. All in all, I stand by that decision.
  5. Thankfully the front door was unlocked and they were able to let themselves in. In all honesty, I'm not sure what would have happened had it had been locked. I dread to think.
  6. Not happy with this thread to be honest. Mocking people because of their appearence is out of order. Doing so anonymously over the internet is especially low.
  7. I was laying prone on my bathroom floor and daren't move in fear of spinal injuries. Thankfully I had my phone at hand so was able to call for help. I had to do something to pass the time before the ambulance arrived and, naturally, P&B was my first port of call. Why are you so angry? Situations like this are exactly why the ambulance service exists.
  8. Excuse me? I don't appreciate young whippersnappers like yourself telling me what to do. Please keep your opinions about my body to yourself.
  9. My hip did take quite a hit, thankfully the x-ray showed no significant damage. It would appear that the only thing seriously hurt was my pride. My thanks go out to the ambulance service and the folks at A&E. If you're reading this you know who you are.
  10. C'mon guys, let's not get ridiculous. I just don't see why I am being ridiculed for taking precautions with my health after a nasty fall.
  11. This is NOT something to joke about. I feared that I was seriously hurt and with no friends/family available to ferry me to A&E what else was I supposed to do? Please inform me for future reference.
  12. I help pay for those resources so might as well make the most of them. Besides, it was the NHS 24 woman that recommended the ambulance. Hurting this afternoon but glad I got everything checked out.
  13. You guys. Quick update in case anyone is interested: no broken bones thankfully, just a few bumps and bruises. In hindsight, calling for an ambulance was unnecessary but as I always say for these kinds of situations - better safe than sorry. I live to fight another day.
  14. The ambulance has just arrived. 35 bloody minutes! Pray for me.
  15. Just slipped on a bar of soap as I was getting out of the shower. Help.
