  1. Was at the Dumbarton game today more in hope than anticipation but when I saw the team sheet at the start and was told that Balde has been sold to Arbroath in the Jan window, I felt like getting back on the bus. We have absolutely no strength on our left side which has been highlighted from the start of the season and that is where most of the danger comes from. There is no passion in this side and virtually no strike force. Scott tries hard but is not a striker and his first touch is poor and they are relying too much on Jack Healy who despite being marked by two players every time he got the ball he had a good game and Ferguson in midfield also received pass marks but the rest were poor by not able to string two passes together. The concerning thing is that we have played against better teams and won but I feel that the Sons did not have to work too hard to win today. I also feel that the two loanees, Taylor Steven and Liam Parker are not enhancing the team and should be sent back and a strong left back and big centre forward needs to be found. I have no doubt that Greig knows this and sympathise with his dilemma as who is going to come to a struggling team in the second division. Sorry to say this but it reeks of the same scenario that Stevie found himself in at this time last year, and we all know how that turned out.
  2. The Fife were outclassed today by a clinical Cove team today and looked a 2nd division team playing a championship team. Looking at the Cove they are a team of seasoned professionals who have and still could play at a higher level and the Fife couldn’t handle them, first to every ball, sharper and well organised. I feel after seeing the first 3 games the teams we played are streets ahead in quality, speed and organisation and think Darren and Steve have a difficult task to keep us in this division. I do not blame Darren or his players because I know Darren has tried his best to bring in quality players but struggles due to financial constraints and the players he has at the moment try hard but lack that bit of quality needed to compete in this division. Hopefully when the injury list eases and our squad comes back we will create a more competitive team. “ mon the Fife “
  3. The raffle tickets sold at the Raith game were for the Supporters club and it was drawn before the Airdrie game yesterday, so if you have won you will be informed today.
  4. Total anticlimax where I believe both teams had their worst display of the season in front of a very decent crowd. Both teams couldn't put two or three passes together and the referee stopped play on the slightest contact preventing any decent flow to the game. Our defence gave Rovers too much space and time on the ball which has not been happening recently but thankfully Rovers were woeful in front of goal. Darren's tactics did not work for me today with defenders bypassing midfield and playing 50/50 balls down the wings or up to Anton who did not look sharp and sadly missed Ryan Wallace although Steve Boyd tried hard and took his goal well. All in all I would have taken a point before the game so the result suited us better than the Rovers. Great to see a big Fife support, pity about the edgy performance.
  5. Agree with all the quotes so far with Liam taking a brilliant pass from Anton on the left wing and cutting in sailing past the full back along the 18 yard line and curled a beauty in the far bottom corner, but the goal of the match for me was Dunsy's bullet header that almost burst the net from a sublime curling cross from Pat who was judged to be marginally offside, like to have seen that on VAR. All in all a superb performance from the whole team. Mon the Fife
  6. We don't have a team for the first four games at least, Pagey- unfit, Wilkie- still not fully fit, Kevin Smith- foot operation, Tony Wallace- not fit, Kane- one game suspension, Kieron Miller- two game suspension, still no players signed for Saturday, doesn't look good.
  7. Informed today that Pagey will not be available till August due to an appendix operation plus his injury from last season.
  8. New East Fife squad trained at Bayview today, approx. 15 in squad. No Pages, think he is still on holiday and Kyle Wilkie is only doing light training, which is disappointing as expected him to be fully recovered and fighting fit by now, big miss all season and looks like both he and Kevin are not going to make the start of the season.
