  1. More clubs withdrawing should be the furthest thing from their mind. They should be doing their utmost to get member clubs playing every Saturday. Again they’ve failed.
  2. Embarrassing. Patting themselves on the back and forgetting the fact that 13 proud clubs won’t be playing this season largely due to their incompetence. Believe they were asked by a number of clubs to consider regionalising the conferences. Again they’ve made decisions against the best interests of their member clubs and government guidance. 6 Ayrshire clubs in a conference of 12. Would suggest more clubs may withdraw prior to the November date.
  3. Think you’ll find that the majority of conference teams will be of a similar opinion considering the way that they’ve been treated. In terms of league strengths I’d imagine that’s not high on the priority list at present. The appeal of travelling from say Lanarkshire to Ayrshire considering the restriction on changing facilities would be very low. I’d imagine that there are proud clubs throughout the membership with decisions to be made that they do not deserve.
  4. Regional leagues may make the difference between clubs making a go of the season or not. Not a great appeal for players travelling distances to play given the circumstances. Would also suggest that in the event of supporters being allowed to return that local “derbies “ would be more appealing and be a welcome boost to the member clubs finances. Having said that it’s been pretty evident from the offset that the conference teams are a sideshow that the WOSFL couldn’t care less about so I wouldn’t imagine this would be considered.
  5. Been evident from the offset that the new structure was geared up for tier 6 level and the remainder were taken to alleviate any bad press. The management of the whole thing has been a disaster. The conference teams are now in a situation where if they decide to remain, play in a league where they have no income (at present) from supporters but still paying for training fees, referees fees etc. A number won’t be able to sustain that and there may be proud clubs forced to fold.
  6. Surely with guidance regarding travel restrictions in place along with the lack of showers / changing facilities they must seriously consider regionalising the conferences?
  7. An absolute cock up. Clubs with a proud history chucking the towel in for the season. Whole situation has been crying out for leadership. Faith been put in a self nominated management group that gave been a sham from the off. There’ll now be a pile of relevant questions that they are incapable of answering/dealing with. SFA been no better. A series of shite bag tweets posted at 5pm just as they clock off for the night.
  8. There was an article today in which Dave McKenna said the intention was still to start on 10th October but would be behind closed doors. If that’s the case clubs need to speak up. Well aware of more than a few who have concerns for their future. No revenue from supporters will certainly see a high number struggle to survive. There are a number of clubs who came from the junior ranks with a proud history. Spineless leadership sticking 2 fingers up at them.
  9. At last someone with a common sense approach with the lowland league delaying the start of their development league. As part of their reasons, they are citing the health and well-being of the players due to the dressing room/ showers situation. Should the WOSFL not follow suit rather than run their member clubs into the ground with no income through the gates for the foreseeable future?
  10. Any feedback from last night’s zoom meeting?
  11. Ground improvements are carried out by the member club’s throughout the summer months by invaluable committee members/volunteers and on many occasions paying for materials out of their own pocket. We’re in a different place now.
  12. So I believe. Arse covering paper exercise. Aware of amateur leagues over the years where facilities were inspected prior to acceptance into their league. Is the WOSFL not deemed to be professional league?
  13. The update was as comprehensive as it could be. There is still no guidance from the Scottish Government or SFA regarding crowds, so the Pyramid Restart Group could not give that information. Fully appreciate that the new league shall seek guidance. In fairness they’ve hardly put their head above the parapet since the return to train / play has been muted other than send out an arse covering guidance email. I’d suggest that there are more than a few clubs with facilities where there would be major concerns using in the current climate. Could a representative of the association not visit their new member clubs to check the facilities on offer? Would maybe offer clubs some initial guidance on the needs of their facility?
  14. Still too many unanswered questions in the latest update. With the possibility of a restriction on supporters attending games, starting back may put more financial strain on clubs as wages and the necessary costs related to the guidelines will require financed. A restriction (or no) on gate receipts could cripple a number of clubs.
  15. A lot of valid points being posted but far too many “grey areas” at this time for the SFA to approve matches at this level. Reassess in December when the country is hopefully in a better place in relation to the virus with a view to starting early in the new year.
