For clubs the size of those in League 1 and 2, is there really need for there being 20 doctors employed by 20 clubs?

Chasing VAR out of Scotland
10menwent2mow replied to HibsFan's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
So are we pretending that VAR is this accurate. There's no fucking chance that the variables as in when the ball is kicked and that the lines are accurate. Absolute nonsense. -
The Official Former President Trump thread

Did she not renegotiate the pre-nup not that long ago. Be interesting to see if he'd rather pay the fines and claim he's got no money to give to Melania or not pay the fines and pay her a shed load. Tough one for his ego. -

If they can't be in line then why do we get dead heats in other sporting events?? -
Longest Stretch in Tier 2/3/4
10menwent2mow replied to 10menwent2mow's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Didn't know that. -
Wasn't sure where to put this so stuck it in here due to higher traffic. Prompted by the Highland League thread and mention of some Buckie fans not wanting to go up due to becoming a small fish in a bigger pond. My thought was that they would have a fear of being like Elgin, who have never been promoted or relegated since inception into the League set up meaning 24 years in the 4th tier. Can any of our resident stattos tell me if this is the longest streak of a club being in the same tier that isn't the Premier Division/SPL/Premiership. I can recall Albion Rovers and East Stirling being mainly bottom tier for a long time before being relegated.

Semi Final: Aberdeen vs Celtic
10menwent2mow replied to Melanius Mullarkey's topic in Domestic Cup Football
Its OK. You don't have to justify yourself. There will be heaps of celtic fans that haven't left the East end of Glasgow that are "irish' Same as Rangers fans that think they have a connection with Northern Ireland. The rest of us will never understand why. But each to your own. -

So the plot thickens. The majority of your fan base 'come from Scotland' yet you can't see a single saltire in your support but heaps of tricolour. Don't get me wrong, I level the same accusation at your sisters across the city but I have occasionally seen a saltire at ibrox. If the majority of your support comes from Scotland, why don't you identify with that. -

Not judging by the folk I encountered on the approaches to hampden before and after the game. Just being honest. -

Funnily enough, I didn't hear a single Irish accent among the taunting or from the celtic fans that weren't being c***s after the game. Do you have to support celtic if you live in Scotland and are from the Irish diaspora, or could you maybe support your local team rather than have some half arsed connection to a country you've never been in. -

I'm aware of all that. Irish diaspora?? In the words of Roy Keane, Do me a favour. A bus overtook us on the way down today, kings coaches from Aberdeen, aye, that Irish diaspora moving into the noth East of Scotland. Awa n shite. -

Great. I welcome all those who come from RoI. It just seems a wee bit disproportionate to the number of Ireland flags in the support. -

I'd have still been in the stadium cheering my team off the park. As it was I didn't want to hang about to see the Celtic fans that were left celebrating. Just found it bizarre that some left as soon as the last pen was saved. -

10menwent2mow replied to Melanius Mullarkey's topic in Domestic Cup Football
To be fair. Judging by the number of Irish tricolours they had, I guess they had to rush back to Glasgow or Prestwick for flights home. Funny, when I was walking back to my bus I didn't hear many South Ireland accents. Maybe I am getting a little confused. Surely you'd expect if the majority of the support turn up with South Ireland flags, that's where they came from.- 916 replies

Semi Final: Aberdeen vs Celtic

This is up there with Queen of the South and the Rogic final. Absolutely heartbroken after that. Still in Glasgow. 3 and a half hours to get home. 13hr round trip for f**k all. Its the hope that kills you. Kudos to the celtic fans that left straight after the shootout and were taunting aberdeen fans as we headed back to our buses. Classy as always. -

I've done a wee double. Miovski to score 1st today and Hertz to win tomorrow. -

As Vincent pointed out, it would depend on Hearts or Hibs form at the time, the feeling around the club, kick off time, ticket prices etc etc. If Hearts were a rabble, playing Caley or County at 12.30 on a Sunday at Pitrodrie, not sure you could guarantee a huge support. I'm en route at the moment but my first thought when the alarm went at 5.45 this morning, having finished work at 0.30 was, 'can I really be arsed with this'. I can see why many haven't bothered. -

Not sure it's that daft. We played Dundee Utd in a semi at Dens in 2000 that probably could've sold more tickets and St J in 2014 at Tynecastle. The atmosphere at those games was brilliant, rather than rattling around a 1/3 full Hampden. -

Semi Final: Rangers vs Hearts

I got 9/1 with bet365 last night. For some reason the bookies seem to think we have more chance of beating Celtic than Hearts do of beating 'Rangers'. I have no idea what the basis for that odds compiling is. Anyway, I fully expect to be able to take a £5.50 cash out for my fiver before kick off on Sunday because there's no way Hearts go off at 9's -
Mathematical Milestones 2023/24
10menwent2mow replied to 10menwent2mow's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
After tonight's draw at the ScotFoam Swimming Baths we can now move on to look at Matchday 34 in the Top Half. 'Rangers' can secure a Top 2 finish if they match Hearts' result. Hearts will clinch a top 3 finish if they beat Kilmarnock. Killie can clinch a Top 5 finish if they beat Hearts and St Mirren and Dundee don't pick up at least a win and a draw between them in their fixtures against 'Rangers' and Celtic. Dundee will be unable to finish higher than 5th if they lose to Celtic and Killie beat Hearts. -
The 'Tremendous' Tales of Tightfistedness Thread
10menwent2mow replied to Hedgecutter's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
Nope, they're definitely just cheapskates. There was one menu change where the 'two for' was removed. They then went to the 5 small plates option as that was the cheapest alternative. There was also a time when we offered a free soft drink with every main course, they objected to paying the 15p sugar tax for full fat coke and then ordered diet from there on.
