  1. I don’t think the league set up is too far off what it should be. Lack of meaningless games is the biggest benefit. In top flight you have…Title-Europe-Top6-Avoiding relegation spots = almost always something to play for = more interest = more spectators. Again, in our division, having the chance of promotion down to 4th along with two at risk of relegation means there is plenty to play for throughout season. The main thing I would change is our play-offs to be maybe (current standings for example) Thistle v Airdrie at Firhill, one game play off for right to face Raith Rovers at Starks in one off game…winner meets 2nd bottom of Premier in one off game at Neutral Venue. Bottom of League Two needs to be looked at. There are more ambitious, better run and better supported clubs way down the pyramid but opportunities to make it into League are slim. I mean, to have to win that Lowland league to only gain a play-off to try and win a place in another play off is mental! It’s also a nightmare for anybody who has dropped out and has ambitions of making it back again as Brechin are finding out. Incidentally, none of the others have come close to threatening a return..Berwick, East Stirling, Cowdenbeath, Albion this season… If any league was to be expanded it should maybe be League Two, even to 12 teams like top flight and have one guaranteed relegation and 2nd bottom involved in a play off giving the chance of two teams promoted into league proper…
  2. Not to mention Dunfermline (and Falkirk) tend to shop in the same player pool as ourselves so, if we remain in Championship, to have a 300k or so head start financially over our neighbours and rivals is a big thing.
  3. Hope they give us more seats for our two league games up there next season…
  4. We haven’t been very good. With Stanton in there and Vaughan dropping in at times, I don’t see the need for so many lofted balls from the back. Our one or two decent moments came from playing the ball through midfield. Someone tell Dodds that isn’t “Cammy Smith” Someone tell the commentator to stop saying “just about” ie “just about kept it out” when it WAS kept out, “just about got his foot to it” when he DID get his foot to it. Seems to be a buzz phrase in British commentators when it’s just stupid.
  5. I have made him captain in my ‘shittest haircut of the season’ team
  6. Considering we are the team I watch week in week out, it’s easier to be critical I guess. On their day, Big Kev, Scott Brown, Easton are all close to the best players’ in their position but they have been inconsistent/dropped/moved around so much that it’s hard to include them in a team of the ‘season’ ….now if it were team of the ‘couple of month electric around XMas and some cracking goals elsewhere but ineffective and dropped in many other games in season’ Easton gets in. I can’t compile a team myself because despite watching plenty of games, I don’t think I’ve seen enough/focus enough on opposing players to do them justice but I’d confidently say their are at least a couple of keepers with a better all round game than Dabroski. The Airdrie keeper has impressed me, The queens keeper and obviously the Utd keeper has had a load of clean sheets so must be doing something right
  7. Kevin Dabroski might well be the best shot stopper in the league and might well continue improving into a top class goalkeeper but he is miles off the finished article. Wouldn’t get in this seasons top three keepers for me. Of our whole squad over the season, only Sam Stanton would get in my team with Vaughan deserving a wee mention too
  8. Three games to kick shit into each other. Each challenge you make should be full blooded with intent to hurt. Red cards and suspensions are fine so longs you cause damage to opponent.
  9. I imagine it would be easier to support the likes of Thistle over Bigot Brothers if you live in Glasgow and having to be exposed to their shite at close quarters.
  10. Don’t disagree with the general point of your post but Utd play Queens Park same time we play Ayr and we also have Airdrie on the Tuesday so we will be all level on games played before they go to Cappielow a week on Friday…
  11. The writer of that post has clearly never been to many football games. 99/100 you could be taking anything you want in to a football match if it can be hidden on your person. Not a slight on policing or stewarding, it’s just how it is when thousands of people are entering a venue in the space of 20/30mins. Still takes a complete idiotic bawbag to be throwing one at a football player, hope they are identified and banned.
  12. Maybe in a couple of years time Dundee will let you use their new state of the art stadium for big games like this with 2,000 away fans that your club can’t seem to handle?
  13. Prospect of losing to and dropping 4pts behind your title rivals with 5/6 games left doesn’t equal no pressure to me! Both teams will be feeling it, just hope we cope better with it than them
