  1. I haven't posted in a while but I have done my utmost to keep up with this 3000mph thread through working hours - not an easy task! Felt it was time to add to the debate on such a momentous day though. My last post many thousands of pages ago mentioned the dinosaur that is Glasgow (no offence to those forward thinking Glaswegians!), however I believe my post to still be valid. The reason we have so much trouble in creating valid change in Scottish football in this country is that Stewie Regan for example was involved in creating sponsorship deals involving the OF prior to getting the SFA job and so many SFA "staff" have OF interests. No need for Sherlock in this instance, however this has always been the case throughout SFA history. The halls of the SFA are riddled with Rangers apologists/simpathizers to the extent that the situation has been normalized and even accepted without claim. For this country to progress as a footballing nation of any reputation, we must bin Glasgow as a shop window and consign it to the museum that it deserves. I know I will get pelters for this considering Glasgow is our biggest city, but throughout this "crisis" which section of society has been the biggest prophets/profits of the apparent "doom"/"armaggedon" heading our way?? The Scottish Sun, The Daily Record, Chic Young, Jim Traynor, Hugh "I never realized blowing my nose would rid me of my irritating as f*ck voice" Keeevins, etc - Dinosaurs the lot of them. Rangers, Celtic, and their fans - living in a huge big embarrassing time warp. What would you all rather do? Put ink to a brand new fresh and exciting page? Or add more ink and mess to an already blotted, dirty paper? History is already written, the future is in the hand of the boldest pen............ There is nothing cleaner than a page unwritten - let's show the OF goldfish bowl that there is life beyond their narrow existence - eyes wide open rather than minds half shut. 'mon the diddies. vive la revolution!
  2. I will sign off by saying that I do not (unlike a lot of the OF extremists), tarnish everyone by the same brush. I have a lot of great friends in Glasgow, but the amount of narrow minded bigoted people on that side of the country is disturbing and museum standard. Take a step back and look at the situation from a modernist point of view. The attitudes of the OF in general is largely aimed at maintaining a narrow minded point of view that is centuries old and not befitting a nation that should be looking to the future and shaking off the negatives of a dodgy past. All Glaswegians who believe in a bright future can join us at the museum gates to change the damage done. Dundee ain't perfect (far far from it and at times complicit in the "problems"), but let's make use of this collective opportunity to rid ourselves of a backward attitude that makes Scotland look like a country forever a few chapters behind in the writing of world history. Now is the perfect opportunity to rid ourselves of this ridiculous stereotype that tarnishes our game and our cultural image.
  3. My dad and most of my family are Glaswegian mate, I spent most of my childhood summers there. I got fed up being asked what side of the green or blue I favoured. Narrow-mindedness tagged with big city syndrome stinks in Glasgow. I know it's not everyone but there you go, personal experience for over 20 years. Dundee is considered a sh*tehole by the rest of Scotland. Not a patch on Glasgow.... in my opinion of course.
  4. I'm beginning to think Glasgow should just be reopened as a museum of how "folk used to live" and we could send all our school children there as a warning in life to watch (from a protective and soundproof glass), how these dinosaurs go about their daily lives. These people are centuries behind modern times. Still banging on about religion and history they don't even remotely understand for a start. They don't call Glasgow the goldfish bowl for nothing. Glasgow will hold Scotland back far more than it will ever forward Scotland. Time for a power shift. Time for change. There is no better time than now to make it happen.
  5. What really really gets me with these Gers fans is the fact that for so long they have gloated that they are the "establishment club" and have indulgently laughed off accusations of favouritism in all footballing decisions (while these decisions work in their favour and keep them at the top of the pile), and yet the moment the real footballing establishment (aka the SFA) punish them for inexcusable and blatant wrongdoing they are mouthing off about everyone in power in Scotland is Kafflic republican timothy sympathisers taking over the country! Make up your minds FFS!!! Wha's in cherge here??!!?!?? I honestly do not know how to live my life or what my political views should be without knowing whether it is the blue or green half of Weedgieland in control of this country. Someone should demand some transparency in all this. We have a right to know!!
  6. I really really hope the away boycotts go ahead next season as promised by the Gers "faithful". And I really hope that we "diddy" club supporters put our money where our mouths are in these admin pages and turn out in extra numbers for these games to breath in the lovely empty fresh air coming from the away ends and support our teams to the maximum. Wouldn't it be lovely to be at Tannadice/Easter Rd/Pitoddrie/etc and giving the Gers under 18's FC a right royal doing in front of a sea of Tangerine/Green/Red??? Time to prove that we so called smaller clubs can pull out the numbers when the odds aren't stacked against us. The times they are a changing. Vive la revolution!!
  7. Whyte agrees to sell shares according to STV website... http://local.stv.tv/glasgow/99090-craig-whyte-agrees-to-sell-his-85-shareholding-in-crisis-hit-rangers/
  8. Sorry to piss in people's pints with my very first post but it is a question I have been desperate to have answered for a while... Do the average SPL attendances without the OF mentioned a few pages back remove Rangers and Celtic's travelling support completely from the equation?? I hope so otherwise the figures are exaggerated... I sincerely hope I am missing something as I am a strong believer in Scottish football without the OF. I am a Dundee United fan of 30 years and dream of a day when we can do without the dinosaurs of the OF. Let's hope extinction is on the cards for the bigots and that civilisation can progress in this country. It is appalling to think how badly this country is held back in all aspects by 2 "football" teams (believe me when I say this country is held back by these OF "systems of belief"...) . My father is Glaswegian and was so appalled by the nonsense and narrow mindedness growing up that he chose to move to Dundee and give me a better upringing... Yes that's right DUNDEE. Best decision he ever made after seeing the rest of my family in Glasgow get swallowed by that "mentality"... Vive la revolution and FTOF!
