  1. It's bittersweet- apparently we were the better team in the semi v United but threw away a great opportunity to get to the final- we had a good record v a good Saints team that season, winning three of our four league games.
  2. Jim Duffy is responsible for 33.34% of those final appearances.
  3. Rollo's Pier (locally called Rollo's Folly in the 18th century) was named after a nearby pier which never served any purpose (hence "folly"). The park was located on marshy ground now occupied by student accommodation and flats at the top of Roseangle- so just to the east of Invergowrie Arab's photo. The ground was quirky in that some stone arches similar to the Tay Bridge arches at Barnetts (I think long gone) served as changing facilities. There's an artist's rendering in the book "Our Boys and the Wise Men". Before being a football ground the land was used for outdoor dances and social events. There's more on the early history of Dundee Football at https://juteopolitan.wixsite.com/website
  4. The closest Dundee have come would be 1948-49 when we lost the league on the last day of the season and were beaten semi- Finalists in both cups. Rangers won the actual treble beating us to the league and knocking us out of the league cup. Clyde knocked us out the Scottish.
  5. It was held in Edinburgh in 1896 when Hearts played Hibs on the ground of St Bernards (New Logie Green). It was also held at Kinning Park in 1881 at a time when the ground was outside the Glasgow City limits (subsumed into the city in 1897 according wiki)
  6. Much like other corporate groups I assume the non match day revenue will help cover costs/losses of running the club via a series of intercompany loans, recharges etc. The club won't necessarily benefit directly from non football profit. They will argue redeveloping Dens, as much as that would be superb, doesn't give them the additional strands of income that Nou Campy will.
  7. Wha's in cherge? [Insert gif of Vincent McMahon swaggering into the arena with Jocky's face superimposed on to Vince's here]
  8. Perhaps the best, most poetic description of my team I’ve ever read.
  9. Yup. Fully expect Dundee to fully reciprocate for the Dens derby.
  10. The ticket queue is about to snake down the Provie Rd- so much for the boycott!
  11. I think I'm right in saying that any win v Forfar in 90 minutes guarantees seeding in the last 16.
  12. 2 x Croatia v Scotland to be refunded. Shite.
