  1. Mate if any of these guys is treating this is a job I think they should get a new career as the pay is crap!! They are not professional footballers. If they have a choice of football for free or no football, many of them would play for free. The majority of decent players would not find it easy to just leave and go and play somewhere else. And I am naive
  2. Do you think getting paid £50-£150 per week (or more for the "exceptions" I mentioned earlier) is going to stop the risk of injury / illness / missing work / putting family at risk? Of course it won't. I am sure there will be players who will choose not to play for the reasons you note but that wasn't your point. If supporters are not allowed in, there will be many players in the WOS premier who will choose to play for expenses / free rather than not at all. Not sure why you think there are going to be queues of part time clubs able and willing to take on all these "decent" WOS players when they click their fingers.
  3. I haven't. The original poster suggest a high proportion of players would play for free. You said not the decent players at the better clubs as they would be off. If you are talking about a small percentage of players ie some of the boys at Darvel or the odd player at Talbot or Pollok then fine but they are exceptional players as far as this grade goes. I think of players like Frize, Docherty or Tiny at Beith, all good players at this level but I would think they would all struggle to just move somewhere else at the drop of a hat in the current climate.
  4. Where are you thinking these decent players are going exactly? I am sure there are some that could go League 1 or 2, others may find a rich amateur team but there will be a significant proportion of what I would call "decent" players who wont have those options. I would bet many of them would play for expenses and others for free just because they would rather that than not play at all.
  5. Beat me to it. He’s Dutch and will get a full call up before long
  6. Can only assume it’s a knee ligament injury of the minor type ie a strain. If so he’ll might be out for 4-6 weeks.
  7. Yeah fair point. Christie probably more likely to get on the end of things than Armstrong. I wonder if Mcburnie is starting to make a case to start. Cracking goal he scored at weekend, although I'm still really unconvinced by him
  8. Don't see why not, he's scored plenty of goals in the past and is arguably a better player technically than McGinn. Mcginn obviously has a bit more force about his play. McGinn is a miss but looking on the bright side, it's not a position we are short on. As it stands just now for our midfield I'd go: McGregor Mctominay Christie Armstrong Fraser
  9. Not a centre half. Imagine Clarke did that and we didn't get results? Get your coat mate
  10. Robertson is the right choice for captain, is a fantastic example on and off the park. His performances since becoming captain have been disappointing but he will grow into the role. He is verging on world class for his club, have no doubt he will step up for Scotland in March.
  11. Don't think that's what he said. He said against teams that sit in. Makes sense actually, have more central attacking midfielder leaving spaces for attacking full backs.
  12. Not sure how you can have those 4 defenders and Gallagher not be one of them after last 2 games. Especially having McKenna as 1st pick? I like Armstrong but cant see him playing ahead of either jack or mcgregor.
  13. Kuro, you are either clueless or trolling. Utterly talentless some of the goals he has scored / assists made are top class. He has improved hugely over the years and is a leader. What's not to like? I really rate mctominay and think he'll go on to be a top player but he is still a bit away from his peak or hendersons level.
  14. Are they? Don't see how they were much different to other decent international defenders. Regardless, he continually put himself in positions where it became about strength. Whether he lost those challenges because he is weak or they are unusually strong is neither here nor there. Intelligent players like naismith quickly figure out a better way to play against an opponent who has advantages over him.
