  1. Things The Lower Classes Do

Park anywhere they like with no regard for rules or others Litter Make hospital visits in groups of more than 4
  2. Bitcoins

It's back on the rise today, thank goodness. I'm not sure i'll be able to avoid the temptation to sell if it can get back to where it was 2 weeks ago. It's clearly a non-sensical bubble but that doesn't mean there aren't more opportunities to come.
  3. Things you shouldn't skimp on.

    Golf balls.
  4. Carillion enters liquidation.

Totally unfair writing off of a large and sophisticated industry with lots of skilled and intelligent people involved. Undoubtedly there are some/many bad practises but we are not all snouts in the trough.
  5. The Investment Thread

Cheers. It has genuinely totally transformed my view of money.
  6. Games of 2017

I had a few months off work with sickness so I have played more this year than I have since I was in a student flat. My top 10 of games played (not necessarily 2017 releases are): 1. Overwatch - really cleverly constructed and so addictive 2. Last of Us - a masterpiece 3. Tropico 5 - a hidden gem. 4. Sniper Elite 3 5. Metal Gear 6. GTA V 7. PES 2018 8. FIFA 17
  7. The Investment Thread

Is anyone else on etoro? It’s one of these high risk spread betting on derivatives things. The difference is that it is done as a social platform so you can basically follow the successful traders (rather than ploughing in in glorious ignorance). You basically copy the trades of the top dogs. I have not gone mad and have put in money I could afford to lose but after 6 months I must be circa 30% up. It’s quite good fun too. Worth a look.
  8. The Investment Thread

After a recommendation from my bro, I read ‘How to own the world’ by a Scottish guy Andrew Craig. Total game changer and I would highly recommend a wee read at this if you are interested in making some investments regardless of your income.
  9. PES 2017

Absolutely this. I have no disagreement that pes is more free flowing and I have stuck loyally by it for years. BUT there is no argument that fifas career mode is far stronger than ml and the licensing thing always means pes has to be a lot better than FIFA cause it does make a difference.
  10. PES 2017

I could actually get the ball in the net playing FIFA! You are encouraging me to give pes another go.
  11. PES 2017

I am a pes veteran but have really struggled to 'get' this years version. I actually ended up turning to the dark side and getting fifa. I found pes really really defensive and every game was a complete park the bus affair by cpu. Master league also needs a serious freshen up and that is the mode I exclusively play.
  12. Lego games

I play Marvel Superheroes with my 5 year old. He absolutely loves it although I do get frustrated with the fiddly nature of some of the puzzles sometimes. I invariably find myself googling the solution when we have yet again reached a section where we are 'stuck'. He is oblivious and loves every second of it.
  13. Namedropping thread

I work in the same building as where they film the show. I can confirm the sponsored car thing. Peter is a very nice guy, loads of time for everyone. Our car park provides an interesting game of 'spot the old firm dud' most days which is good.
  14. The Official President Trump thread

Apparently in the last 10 days the mooch has taken the job, missed his wife giving birth (last Monday), his wife has now left him, and then today been fired. What a week!
  15. The Last of Us

Finished left behind today. Definitely a bit of an add on and not in the league of the main game. I have been playing overwatch online (early days) but might give factions a go based on some of the comments in this thread. I am generally hopeless at online gaming (at 36 am I too old?!) but overwatch feels like a fairer playing field than BF and COD.
  16. Playstation Plus Games

Just Cause 3 and assassins creed freedom cry announced for next month. I was about to buy just cause so that's a good result! https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2017/07/26/your-playstation-plus-games-for-august-are-just-cause-3-and-assassins-creed-freedom-cry/
  17. Grand Theft Auto V

So 4 years later than everyone else I have just bought this game. Maybe 10 missions in so far. Very impressed.
  18. Incident at London Bridge

"Clown" was exactly the word I used earlier when watching the same piece. The guy should have been arrested for intentionally ignoring the police while they were trying to evacuate. Imagine the day when your twitter account content is more important to you than the real and present danger which the guy was clearly in. Clown!
  19. 50 Greatest Games of all time - P&B decides

TLOU update: After bring encouraged by several of you (in response to my post above) to persevere, I can now confirm that I made it past this tricky section and was rewarded with the most wonderful, varied, tense computer game experience I have ever enjoyed. I completed the game today and am now a fully signed up member of the TLOU fanboy club. I haven't started left behind yet so have that to look forward to. (NB: Still struggling with the very difficult combat system in witcher 3!!!!)
  20. Last Book You Read....

Probably mentioned already on the thread but I finished 'I am Pilgrim' last night. Highly recommended, best fiction I've read for years.
  21. Hitman

Been playing this a fair bit over the last week. The levels are huge and very impressive. Load times are poor etc but the game is good.
  22. How would/ will you vote?

I am posting this from my hospital bed a week on from life changing emergency surgery which saved my life. It might be the drugs but I am taking quite a broad view at this stage of the game. There was a lot of tribalism and overly harsh language last time round. Scotland is filled with intelligent, hard working and brilliant people and whether we end up in EU as an independent Scotland or stay in the U.K. either will be lucky to fucking have us. That's what I say. There are positives and negatives on both sides of this finely balanced argument and if you do not agree with that then I politely suggest that you have allowed tribalism to take over the asylum. My request therefore is for everyone to play nice, listen more (some a lot more) and positively allow your views to be swayed by what smart people are saying so we all reach the best decision.
  23. 50 Worst Games of all time - P&B decides

Re Jonah Lomu - An unnamed friend of mine is an ex-Scotland rugby international. He secretly keeps Jonah Lomu and the console you play it on (PS1?) hidden at the back of his garage so he can play as himself occasionally when he needs cheering up!! Made me laugh when he showed me!
  24. 50 Greatest Games of all time - P&B decides

    Yes that's the bit.
