  1. Games On

The sun is shining on Wishaw so we are expecting it to be game on at 2.15 at long last.
  2. Central 1st Division 2017-18

...and very good for them that they managed to do so. However, the fact that they did has no relevance to our pitch and our circumstances but thank you for your interest - perhaps at some point we will see you at The Beltane. If so, please feel free to introduce yourself. I'm normally on the gate.
  3. Central 1st Division 2017-18

We have appointed local man Derek Holmes as our new manager. Derek has a wealth of senior experience having played for and coached with a number of clubs in both Scotland and England . His assistant is Brian Crawford who also has played senior for several Scottish clubs and also at junior level including Shotts Bon Accord.
  4. Central 1st Division 2017-18

We are not required to provide an alternative venue until the S.J.F.A. instruct us to do so. Whilst all the postponements have of course been weather related, the specific circumstances have been different in each instance. The position Forth Wanderers are currently experiencing vis a vis being able to play their home fixtures is entirely different and they have our sympathy in that regard.
  5. Central 1st Division 2017-18

Point of information - The West J.F.A. doesn't do 'provisional' fixtures. We are required to attempt to play the 'official' fixture being the Scottish Junior Cup tie.
  6. Wishaw Juniors F.C. - Manager

Wishaw Juniors F.C. are seeking to appoint a new manager to build on and continue the work of taking the club forward. Interested persons are invited to submit their C.V. to [email protected] or phone Alex Young on 07711932170 for an informal chat.
  7. Scottish Junior Cup Postponement Record

Thanks LeedsPhil just checked that one out on SJFA Cup Database - you are correct 10 match days before the Vics got the match on. Downfield and ourselves will get to at least 10 match days now. Anyone else ??
  8. Scottish Junior Cup Postponement Record

After postponement of tomorrow's Wishaw v Downfield match, that makes four postponements each plus the draw at Downfield meaning there will be minimum of 10 match dates to get this tie played. Anyone know what the record is?
  9. St Roch's F.C. 2017-2018

Deepest Sympathy from all at Wishaw Juniors. I sat with him at a good few West JFA meetings and we talked a lot. A mild mannered, thoughtfull and gentle man who will certainly be missed.

It was a great run and goal by Jamie. Grrrrrr.!!!!
  11. Newnains community football team

Don't really see why there should be any question of our near neighbours folding. The people running Newmains have worked very hard over the last couple of years to create a a good foundation for the future. Good opportunity for someone with genuine love of the game, ideas and ambition to come in and build on the good work already done.
  12. Wishaw v St Roch's

Nope, keeper is still with us. I checked the same forecast you did. Rain likely between 0200 and 1100 Thur and 0900 and 1300 on Friday. It all depends on how much rain actually falls as always. We got our match on a couple of weeks ago when others didn't.
  13. Wishaw v St Roch's

Forecast is a lot of rain Thursday & Friday. Might need an inspection on Sat.

Wishaw Juniors are delighted to announce that with effect from 1.00 p.m. today John Brogan has been appointed as our new manager. John will be assisted by Colin Mitchell and Scott Gemmell. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the other persons who took the time and trouble to submit applications. We would also wish to take this opportunity to publicly thank Johnny Fallon and Davie Kilpatrick for giving up their time at very short notice to take training and for looking after our team on match days and generally helping to keep us on an even keel following the departure of Chris, Glen and Mark. Played 2 won one drawn 1. Much appreciated gents you will always be welcome at The Beltane. We now look forward to the season ahead.

Bit confused here folks. There was no 'moaning' in this thread by anyone connected to Wishaw. However, there were a couple of expressions of sympathy by posters who quite clearly have no connection to Wishaw. It is just football - you pick yourself up and you get on with it. We will make an announcement in due course.
