I am this kind of gimp but that's why I'm happy to leave Ibiza for folk who like to party all night. Folk who go there for a relaxing getaway are indeed doing it wrong. I went on a couple of party holidays when I was younger and basically if you're not more knackered than when you left - and I mean you're dying on the flight back - you are an irredeemable gimp. I'm far too old for this now. I've found myself not only relaxing poolside but doing so with a book. If I went to Ibiza with mates and did that, they'd have every right to drown me in the Mediterranean.

Smart in the sense that they'll have extremely high wage demands, but there are some very good players in the EPL and it's churlish to deny that.

The EPL=money thing can't really be overstated when clubs like Leicester are signing first-teamers from clubs like Inter. It's like the late 80s and early 90s when English players were ending up at clubs like Sampdoria (not even just Juventus and Milan). You have to acknowledge the role TV money is playing in squad-building when that happens. However, Barcelona and Madrid, even allowing for the recent changes to tax law in Spain, are still absolutely the top draw. There's no way the average player would go to City over Barcelona. I'm not actually sure where Bayern fit into this equation as they don't seem to go for players from England very much.

I agree, 20 is about our 'natural' level because we're a strong footballing country with decent infrastructure. But put it this way - being a few places short is much less of an aberration than being 10 places high, as we were just a few short years ago. And at that exact time, people were still saying Scottish football was a laughing stock, it was dying etc. They always do, regardless of what's actually happening. It's for this reason that I don't worry too much about our ranking - it's going to ebb and flow, but the average Scottish pundit is going to be slamming our game regardless, while crowds remain pretty consistent.

Fair enough. The company I work for does some similar restrictions and, let's say it's a video about PSG that's not available in France or the Middle East and North Africa. The guys who list it would put France first, then Algeria etc after simply because France is going to be a very high percentage of the audience.
