One of your ultras flicked a cigarette in my direction because I shouted great pass from one of the Uni players. Dodny really want to mention it but u did insist

Me and wee Tony are the Arthurlie Ultras Squad,  he was grounded by his Mum and I don’t smoke so your at it, anymore slander me and wee Tony will see you in court.

  2. It’s vital for Arthurlie to have a link with the local youth set up, over the years a lot of Barrhead talent have went to Beith because of the Johnny Miller connection, but I think we have seen a change there recently. We now have a manager and team that will give young guys a chance.

  3. Best of luck to him.  He was very poor at Arthurlie.  He was given the job far too early. As caretaker he won his 1st three games and rather than keep him as caretaker until the end of the season he was appointed full time.  That was a mistake.   At the end of the season he got rid of some great prospects who are now flourishing at other clubs.  He brought in a whole group of players who were very poor and our freefall continued.  He is partly to blame for our position today.
If the big man can learn from his mistakes at Dunterlie there is nothing to stop him becoming a good manager.  I hope he succeeds.

Pretty much what Satori said, I seem to remember him losing the plot a few times in the dugout, but I think he admitted that himself, good luck to him, hopefully a good appointment for Fauldhouse.
  4. Whittlets beat Arthurlie twice last season and are a tough team to play against, with Forsyth coming back that gives them an extra edge.

Arthurlie had their best performance against Shotts at home in a 3-0 win, we were excellent and Shotts had an off night, but I definitely expect them to be strong.

For an outside bet Johnstone Burgh, good young team who I think will do well.

I’ve not heard any of the names coming into Arthurlie, but have heard they are good players so hopefully we can gel quickly .

  5. Andy McFadyen is a true gentlemen who has been around the game a long time. Don’t be fooled by his u 21s pedigree as he has been in touch with junior football just as long. More importantly he is a great people person who had opportunities to take other similar jobs in the past. The time is clearly right for him. He has seen players progress to all levels in the game and I’m sure will gel the dressing room when the season starts.

Sounds promising, can’t wait to see who he brings in, hopefully the league structure gets sorted so we can have an idea of what’s happening next season.
  6. So a change in structure with George Fotheringham moving to assisting Andy McFadyen. Presume this had been the plan all along as it seems to have happened with no issues. Dont know much about Andy McFadyen. What’s everyone else’s thoughts.

Glad to have the guys, sound like they have good experience in the u21 game and the Glencairn u21 has produced some excellent players recently, I think it’s a vital market to tap into and these guys having good contacts and experience of working with youth, I’m excited about the future and new set up.

Anyone know why Andy has only taken over now and not when the four other guys came in?

  7. I actually know a few boys who’s going next season as well . Again it’s not fair to mention their names as they play for other teams.

You guys are killing me here [emoji23], I will just have to wait till they are signed. Excited about next season, hopeful we get it right this time.
  8. The will support them as much as they can but there is no money pot at Dunterlie.  I am certain the guys knew that before they took the job.

I agree, we need to find younger players coming through and already have some right good local talent in the team, plus I’m sure the new management team with have good contacts in and around Glasgow, so I’m confident they can build around the younger players we have and get a competitive team on the park.
  9. I don't think the club have actually confirmed it, no, but I am very reliably informed that George Fotheringham is the manager. I know all four of the management team pretty well from their times at Glencairn.

That’s what we are all thinking but as you say, no confirmation from the club, it’s a if they have forgot about it.
  10. I realise there are times when information is not made public. Things that really are for certain eyes only but this was a game of football.  We go and watch week in week out but seems as only those and such as those were told about the game. Ridiculous.

Has it been confirmed who the manager is, the club statement is a bit vague and doesn’t tell us who is doing what. Pretty typical to be honest, support left guessing again.

  11. To be fair, as someone who used to withhold that information, sometimes there are legitimate reasons for it. It’s a difficult balancing act because you don’t want to piss off fans but you can’t always be forthcoming.

Fair enough, I don’t think we expect the lineups or anything, but it would be nice to know who we were playing.
  12. Won 4-0 seemingly. Top secret stuff though , dont tell anyone.   Usual Arthurlie. The people who pay the wages are always the last to know.

I’ve said it before the information towards the support from the club is shocking.
  13. Iv heard they already have a few players coming into the squad this week. Be good to see how they start off who they decide to play. Also petershill are cuptied this weekend who do we play now ?

Blantyre away now, I wasn’t at the recent game with them, but I heard they were very impressive.

  14. Can’t disagree with that. A couple of centre halves are a must and some depth upfront as we lack cover. [/
We have some cracking centre midfielders, but to be honest we have too many and wouldn’t be surprised to see one or two leave.
  15. Just wondering with dunky leaving where people would like to see strengthened ?

I think the only places we are strong are Keeper and centre mid. Wingers and strikers are good but could be improved, centre half and right back have needed improved for ages.
