  1. My maw is to get tested today. Works in a care home where it's spread quite rapidly. 3 deaths in the home being linked with it but not being confirmed as other serious medical issues. She noticed she had a sore throat this morning and phoned her work, they've booked her a test and she's just waiting for the phone to go to head off for it.
  2. You're paying Stevie May more than £2k per week? Oft. No wonder Broon is permanently raging.
  3. Goths seem to have died out. There was a large culture of goths when I was in secondary school. Not so much these days.
  4. A lot more? Are United fans seriously thinking that their board are going to spend silly money when football returns?
  5. Reduced attendance. Most grounds aren't near a sell-out, but having 1 person for say 3 seats or whatever it works out distance wise might be an initial way round this. We're still a long way off even this admittedly.
  6. My missus and mother both work in different care homes and it's been really quite frightening the way the residents have been treated. One old guy suffers from a lung condition and as a result has lost one lung and struggles to breath at times with fits of coughing. He needed to go to hospital as there was an emergency with him (Completely unrelated to this). Initially the hospital were refusing to take him and then when they did they put him into the Covid ward due to his cough. He's since back in the care home but obviously as you'd expect needed to be quarantined. The lack of testing available made a stressful experience 100x worse and more difficult for everyone involved here. Staff absences have skyrocketed and most care homes aren't willing to take on agency staff/send staff to other struggling care homes when need be. Everyone is doing the best they can but it just seems like a catastrophe waiting to happen.
  7. My favourite Alan Main moment was when St Johnstone scored a last minute equaliser against us. He proceeded to do an aeroplane celebration all the way up to and round the centre circle line and back to his goal. We then went up the park and smashed a winner in. Roddy Grant was so upset he smashed the Dens Park dressing room windows in. Pleasing.
  8. Aye, considering the circumstances, if United started paying fees for players it'd just be utterly bonkers. The players you are being 'linked' with seem a bit nuts as well.
  9. Charlie Adam was a key player in getting St Mirren promoted that year. So was Willie Dyer for us the last time we were promoted! (Not that I'm comparing ability, obviously)
  10. You lot have had some drought since Main. Fs. As much as I hate Main, he was a cracking keeper. Probably my favourite ever hate figure.
  11. Nostalgia is getting to you. Smith was shite - and the fact he was your first replacement for Main is a shocker! His career since justifies it. His season as St Johnstone number one was his peak: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graeme_Smith_(footballer,_born_1982)
  12. Darren Hill made over 100 league appearances for you lot, did he not?
  13. The goalkeeping Smiths eh? What they like? Every single one was utter mince.
  14. Cuthbert couldn't displace a 40+ year old Alan Main despite repeated chances (Who then got benched for Chris Smith FFS). I remember Raith fans on this forum used to assert that Dave McGurn was better than Rab Douglas and this triple save was their proof: And tbf, it was a cracking triple save but you're 100% correct. Anytime, any fan says that Derek Soutar was 'alright' or 'not that bad' needs to be shown that clip. I've never watched goalkeeping as bad as that. I'm sure he tried to blame the pitch as well.
  15. Having a bit of a brain fart - What was the knock-off lego you used to get? It was big huge blocks rather than lego style?
  16. Surprised at the amount of fans that love Kevin Cuthbert. He could barely kick, was glued to his line and a weird shape every time I watched him.
  17. I hope you're right and I hope I'm wrong and I quite possibly could be, wouldn't be the first. It's just time and time again we've seen proven entities that are on the older side ply their trade in England then come to Scotland and flop in their last 'big' move. Glenn Whelan for Hearts last season springs to mind. Some Dee's were considering Dorrans a disappointment last season. They recognised his quality - but there's no denying he didn't have the impact on certain games we all expected. I wasn't one of these Dee's, but at times it was hard to argue he wasn't imposing himself the way he could and should. I hope I'm wrong - and I've nothing to back it up, but Charlie Adam patrolling the centre circle, barely moving, pinging passes which don't always come off - I dunno, I'm just trying to temper expectations at this point! I'm not trying to diminish Adam - he's clearly still got the ability to play to a much higher standard than us - but would he be able to show it consistently every week in the Championship at 35 without being a stereotypical 'luxury' player? And that's if he signs for the next season - he probably plans on joining us when he's 37/38! ETA: But the most important part of our whole discussion here? f**k John Brown. Sniveling little shite. Seems to be a theme of people named John Brown's being arsepieces.
  18. Think it sums up my season when the press officer deems this as valid news to slap on my desk:
  19. The point about GGH was just a joke. Charlie Adam as a youngster was hounded out at Rangers and wasn't exactly sensational at St Mirren. Would he be the best player in our squad? Well, perhaps (Dorrans would maybe disagree). I'm just not confident he'd be the superstar that Dundee fans would expect.
  20. Gonna just throw it out there and be controversial - He'd be shite for us. Classy player. Brilliant player. But if, for example, he signed next season (If all went well), he'd be 35. He's currently a 34 year old bit player for a mid table Championship side. Colin Cameron signed for us as a mid-table Championship 34 year old. Completely different style of players - but Adam would be more of a luxury than the wage he'd command IMO. Last season was the time for him to join - or never. Now, after I've said all this - I am also happy to be called a bloody mentalist as I'd gladly welcome back GGH.
  21. I know you're aiming high, but trying to think of a few half decent first divison LB's in that version: Eddie Malone (Unlikely to be top flight quality) Matt Lockwood? - He'll be down South, be interested in seeing how he was rated. Scott Morrison? There was a save where Paddy Boyle was very good at LB. Jason Talbot was another that used to be decently rated.
  22. Bob Harris not a quality player in that version?
