  1. They have a reporter currently giving updates on Boreham Wood v Dunfermline during Off the Ball
  2. Don't hold your breath. They don't care about Scottish fitba when the OF aren't playing. Do you ever listen to it? It has its faults but they certainly cannot be accused of OF bias. The BBC are not even allowed into Ibrox! Almost every championship game has been covered this season and its the best I've got when I can't watch the games live. There is a sportsound programme today but I don't think they normally cover the Challenge Cup.
  3. Is there any open all mics on today?!
  4. Yet another good thing this weekend was the attendance. 1900 home fans is the best in a while [emoji3]
  5. I just don’t get the travel argument at all tbh. We live in a relatively small country with decent enough travel infrastructure. Fans/teams in other countries make far longer journeys than what we’re talking about here. And these games are relatively one-offs. The only valid concern for me is whether the grant covers a stay in London which is presumably going to be far more expensive than a usual away trip and I’m not sure you can really expect a small Scottish club to plan for that/cover the cost.
  6. Don’t play then and give his position to one of the youths. If I was a player I would enjoy the weekend away and something different!
  7. As much as I like the foreign teams being in it, it is crazy expecting a club to be at significant loss just from the costs of travelling to London. It should be fully covered by the grant. How is gate money split? I think Sutton get pretty decent crowds although no idea how interested their fans would be in attending.
  8. To be honest i think there’s a lot more weight to the argument that this is an attempt to force colts into the league than an attempt to get Rangers and Celtic into England. And in any case, cross border competition could help the whole of our game if done in the right way. (Not a debate for this thread.) Whereas colts playing in a senior competition just undermines our lower league game and I despise it.
  9. Interesting tie for us which I’ll definitely either go to in person or watch on tv. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I really like the addition of the foreign teams. Just a shame that any improvement in the image of the tournament has been more than lost by the ‘Colt 9 + 2 reserve’ teams. Colt teams gtf
  10. The best outcome obviously would be if we manage to win without even bringing more experience off the bench. Into the next round and some confidence for the young lads!
  11. If we do that with a squad of 14 seniors you might end up with a youth team playing in the league in a few months! The squad is so threadbare I would give most of the younger lads a run out tomorrow night. If we are gonna play a strong team in a cup it has to be next week against St Johnstone but I really don’t think we have the resources for a cup run right now and it would just result in our league form suffering.
  12. And if we’re going ahead with 13/14 senior players better to get the young players more involved now.
  13. OK so if we presume that there is 0 money left for players/loans, we must presume that Naysmith believes the young players are ready otherwise the squad would be far too small. I'm sure Queens fans would love nothing more than to see some of these youngsters break into the first team but there isn't much evidence to suggest they're ready yet is there? I would love to be proved wrong... If we will be relying on the young players as much as that then they should be given more game time surely? Would it have been better to spend the Harkins money on a more mobile midfielder?
  14. If we're not signing anyone else then we will be relying on those youngsters on the bench today to play regularly. Are they ready? There is definitely some hope for Murray. How did Tremble look today?
  15. Any rumours about signings/loan signings?! The bench is very weak!
  16. I’m not sure I would fancy us to turn over Aberdeen or Hibs away tbh! They’re pretty solid performers in the top half these days.
  17. What about a minutes applause 60 seconds into the game?!
  18. Shipping three goals to Stranraer is a little worrying but it’s WAY too early to start complaining. Winning 5-3 is a great start to the season and we have two more games now against league 2 opposition to hopefully get the defence more solid. Also the reports re Semple are very encouraging! I would also add that we kept a clean sheet against a Hearts barrage so definitely no need to worry yet.
  19. Well done everyone at Queens. Lots of good stuff coming out if the club this week and not just the signings!
  20. You also have to factor in that Thistle are likely to be a bigger challenge for the top four than Livingston, at least if they make better use of their budget advantage.
  21. I would argue that his recruitment was good because he identified good signings and brought them in. Their relative success afterwards could have been affected by his poor coaching/tactics. I’ve said before, we hear so much about how amazing his training is but it didn’t seem to have much of an affect on the pitch. Anyway, a new season awaits and I hope he has learned from this one!
  22. I just bought my season ticket. I didn't have one last year and I would probably have preferred a different manager in place but I still think the club deserves as much support as we can give them. Despite my reservations GN will also have my full support at least for the start of the season! He has recruited well so far but then again recruitment has always been one of his stronger skills...
