Looking at this list of possibilities, and excluding Alex Neil who is holding out for another gig down south, Jack Ross is that standout candidate. If he has two years on his contract that might be the biggest problem but fingers crossed.

To be fair to the Americans, they got us promoted and we're about to start our 4th year in the top league with the 6th/7th biggest budget in the league. They got rid of Brown at the right time, Hartley was initially a good appointment but when he started to make a mess of it they got rid of him too just in time to keep us up. We may well go down next season, but not because of the Americans.

He was on the bench today. He's fit. Hopefully he starts at Ibrox but can understand Hartleys reluctance to change a keeper after two clean sheets.

Seen him 3 times and he's been our best player by a mile every time. 1 goal and 2 assists in his first two league games. Amazing to think Killie played him in defence.

Did Ohara ever get a run of games as an attacking midfielder? Hartley signed him and said no one, including the player, could understand why he'd been played in defence. We've been playing him in front of the two holding midfielders, all through pre season and again on Saturday he's been a machine. Picks the ball up deep, runs past players like they're not there and involved in two of our three goals on Saturday. Early days but so far he's bossing games and dictating the tempo every time he plays. Looks to be a top midfielder.

If we didn't get pumped out the easiest group in history, with a game to spare, maybe they players wouldn't have got telt in Peterhead. Total fucking embarrassment in this cup. If Stewart thinks a few shouts from Dundee fans is bad, he'll be in for a shock if he ends up at Rangers and they're being embarrassed by part time teams two leagues below. Our fans are no more or less critical than any others. And in this instance the team deserved the criticism midweek.

Over the season as a whole, I would say McPake has been up there with GGH and McGowan as our best player. Irvine, Bain and Stewart are on fire and one of them will will POTY if they continue playing as well, but over the course of the season so far McPake has been excellent. Criticism of him is just fucking daft.

Heard a few young boys singing a Greg Stewart song last weekend. It was Man city's song to Man U about Sergio Aguero/Phil Jones, replacing those two with fat Turks and Greg Stewart to the tune of This Is How It Feels by Inspiral Carpets. My two favourites are that McPake is a liability at this level and McGowan/Harkins can't play together.

I don't even think the other 3 come close to Morton. Hibs was a massive f**k up but to almost win the league last season, then barely win a game the following season - a season during which they lost 10-2 and continued to play the fattest footballer in the world - resulting in relegation from a league containing Hearts, Hibs, Rangers and a new tv deal..... Now that is a proper f**k up.
