I should've made it clearer, but in my last post I meant I'm sure the defence will be alright when the season comes about. Dunno about going forward, we didn't look too bad up front yesterday, midfield was shit. Last night was the first game I've been to this season, so it's all I've got to go on.

He's right that we didn't track runs last night, making it very easy for United to pick us apart. We know these players are normally fine with that, just looked like they weren't concentrating/putting in the effort to do so last night. We'll be fine once the league starts I'm sure.

Paul Smith is part time supposedly, so if he wasn't willing to give up his day job that would rule him out. I'd be unsure on that appointment anyway. I'm guessing Levein will keep Billy Stark as U21 manager? But if he didn't, for whatever reason, I'd have him in a heartbeat.

Agree generally, cept I'd replace McGurn with Wilson for pass marks - first goal McGurn should've taken the corner, it was only 3 yards out or so. Also failed to take some of those high free-kicks in the second half which imo he should have come for. Odd, cause when he does go for them, he collects them fine. Weir was much, much shiter today than Tadé was, though Tadé is more a hinderance than a help when he is in the box. Entire starting midfield was crap. We miss Sloan's set-pieces already. Better performances are needed.
