About Me
I created Pie and Bovril in 2003, almost accidentally as it happens. I'd just changed hosting providers for a St.Mirren site I had run for a whle and as part of the deal I was given a free domain name to register.
At that time there was a very successful site called Scottish Football Online which was the first of it's kind to bring together fans of all clubs. They were struggling with the technology as the site grew more and more so I registered the pieandbovril.com domain, created a forum and it sat unused for about 6 months.
The SFO site began to fail more and more regularly to the point where users got fed up and started to post on the P&B board more and more. Eventually, like most successful forums, the number of members contributing regularly reached critical mass and suddenly we had a semi busy board.
20 years on and we now take around 5 million hits a month on the site, we have almost 50,000 active users and probably double that number who just like to browse the boards rather than register and post.
