  1. But moving to the seniors isn't just about getting out of the EOS, its about improving the club, community focus, youth development etc etc Its only those trolling or obsessed with the "grade" who fixate on getting out of the EOS, I'll take the league with fixtures and a future for several years ahead of a moribund setup that has been dying for decades with no response.

  4. Very little chat in here and I understand why but today had a lot of positives. I think the pre-match entertainment went pretty well despite some teething issues (and I'm happy to hear all criticism) but the biggest thing for me was John Steele's speech and pitch. His speech struck a chord with most Sons fans at the stadium I think, his act of being in the Stags after the game and being open to questions says a lot more than that though. He said to me we are now in a season of transparency. We have a massive opportunity to change this club and make it better. The fans need to realise this is now our chance to change things without a board looking to restrict it. Regardless of the league we end up in, we can have a club that we all love. Let's realise it.

  5. Congrats on 2nd place guys. Very well deserved; massive achievement, imo. Good luck in the playoffs. Will be watching with interest, TV coverage pending.

  13. 100% agree with your conclusions. Additionally, don't forget that there are 2 tiers in the existing North Region Juniors, and the NCL (all clubs joining at tier 6 - nonsense). What about the SoSL, or will we have 4 feeders into the Lowland. Less chance of progression up the pyramid from tier 6, but at least there would be extra [promotion play-offs. Not so much a pyramid; more like a mole hill. Then there's the boundary issue around Tayside clubs and where would they would slot in ? Tier 6 of course ! And the Ayrshire clubs. Will they see this is a great idea, or as a 'Panic on the Titanic '? And Licensing suspended for junior clubs. I can't imagine how that helps anyone. Yet all of this has been resolved(informally and in principle) over beer (or coffee) & sandwiches, in a dark room by a few "blazers". It's so simple, and everyone can pass "Go"for 2019/20 ! Why didn't we do this years ago ?

  14. It was a tough day for the 434 souls. A sold out stadium, Championees songbook, had to walk past the open top bus parked outside, presentation platform ready for assembly, confetti cannons.... then they lost to us (again), and an Inverclyde citizen ripped the pish. Pleasing. In spades. Weather was braw’ too. About time!

  19. Another dreadful end to the season. Wish it was ending today but we unfortunately have 1 more game to go which could see us ending up in 7th spot. As the season of failure draws to a close, I'm reminded of reading a programme a few weeks back which Douglas Rae states he still wants to see Morton play in the top flight. It's something we all want to see, but here we are one game away of possibly ending up in 7th place. That's the reality of where Morton is at the moment. Now Dougie it's fair to say is in his twilight years. What are the chances of him seeing Morton play in the top flight? If he really wants to see us progress to the top tier of Scottish football then he really has to face reality and make a big decision. Put major investment into the Club to achieve that aim or seek out new buyers who can progress the Club to a higher level. If Dougie wants to end his days as Morton chairman no matter what or where we are as a Club, then that's one hell of an ego trip he's on. And something that could sour his relationship with the fans. I for one, am grateful for what he did when he saved the Club. But, don't ruin it all by holding the Club back just because you want to remain as chairman as long as you remain on this Earth. If say the Easdales are truly interested in the Club and can take us forward, then you have to let go Mr Rae. It's not easy letting go of something you love, but sometimes you have to be brave and do just that.

  21. Bert and Dick are proper football, down to earth guys. Bert was a legend as a player and as I grew up watching his brilliant attacking side, I feel so much connection to the likes of Tod, Petrie and French whenever I hear their names. What they did on a budget uncomparably small to most other clubs in the Premiership Division was a miracle. He was wrongfully hounded out in the end, as was Campbell by Yorkston.

  23. Well at the moment Bonnyrigg don't have anywhere to go if they win the East Superleague, so even having half a promotion spot to tier 5 is better than the current situation. And not every team has ambitions of playing in the national leagues - getting an SFA licence or playing in a league with more benefits than the Juniors is more important than promotion.

  28. I just can't see how the SJFA can enter the Pyramid as a body controlling leagues, as I pointed out a while ago what is preferable to the SFA; SFA - WoSFL SFA - SJFA - WRJFA Its just another layer of bureaucracy which the SFA can well do without, and to add a second East feeder to the LL is just absurd. Let the WRJFA form a new WoSFL, similar in the North (both fairly straightforward), and let the clubs in the East join the EoS and fold the ERJFA (or merge), there is no need for the SJFA within the Pyramid, after all the SFL voted itself out of existence for the greater good not so long ago.

  29. Has anyone else watched the heritage trust interviews with Dick and Bert? Probably my favourite time at the club and listening to them you can understand why, real down to earth no nonsense people. Some interesting and funny stuff. A reporter had a go at Andy Smith for having big ears, Bert grabs who he thinks is the reporter. "See you you're one ugly b*****d" Dick Campbell "Bert!Bert!, that's no him"

  30. You guys are bang on. Always aim as high as you can. It seems like 5 minutes ago we had lots of fans complaining about the 'turgid football' in the SPL and fed up regarding dreadful 0-0 draws with Motherwell and Kilmarnock as decent results. I completely saw the point they were making. According to those guys, dropping down a division would lead to us winning more games (it has, granted) playing better football (mibbes aye mibbes naw) and enjoying it all much more (case unproven). But the financial hits are huge, and the risks very large. Well, here we are, a mere 8 years since Ryan Flynn skied a chance to sink the fucking Killie and we're still plodding around. The past season has been largely disgusting, and we're no closer to going back up. Maybe next year, maybe not, but who can tell. The problem is once you go down, it's very easy to keep on slipping. Look at Clyde. So nothing is assured if you get relegated. Fight, bite and scramble for every yard in the playoffs and I hope we see you next year. DFC have always been very difficult, sometimes tremendous opponents to us in the last 6 years or whatever, and I think we all tip the hat to part time players making such a great job of it for so long. For personal reasons, I hope Ayr Utd win L1, but will be rooting for you to pump the Rovers in the play off final, hopefully. Good luck. #bairnsoftherock

  31. Sorry but also seeing people on Twitter beginning to claim "McKee isn't that bad", "there is worse in our squad" etc in response to the Herald article this morning. He was one of the biggest culprits of engaging in the complete shitebaggery that helped cause the first half of this season. One out of every 3 or 4 freekicks he'll give you a decent one, the rest of the time he passes the ball backwards and sideways and any time the game looks like going against us, he will revert to hiding and completely fall out of matches. Him and Harris should two of the first ones to be told to get to f***.
