10/10 for Thursday. Felt like I'd done these questions before tbh9 points

Crazy to think this is your first major final in over a century given your proud history in Scottish football. ICT had their big cup win a few years ago so I hope you guys lift the trophy. I know the Challenge Cup isn't glamorous but it's ideal for lower league clubs who don't have a chance of winning the 'big' trophies, or even the league title. It's a bit of a drag in the early rounds and it isn't the worst thing in the world to be knocked out but if you get to the semis you should be in it to win it. It could be argued it kick started our season when we pumped TNS. We won the first division and challenge cup in 05/06 and the best night out that season was the Challenge Cup final.8 points

After 5 years of the Lowland League, 45% of west junior clubs still don't support the pyramid - that's a divide. Better for the 55% to get together for 'sensible dialogue' and create the WoS league now. The pyramid is working, it's up to clubs to make a move.7 points

I've binged this thread tonight and even I'm pissed off at the time it's taking to get through the list. And I'm not entirely convinced that the next post isn't going to be Aiden McGeady's third appearance. That said, I've mostly been enjoying the Channel 4 list style commentary from Ludo. What we're really missing is Stuart Maconie popping up now and again to tell us all what a fucking c**t Andy Goram was.6 points

It quite clearly is working, seeing as it has already promoted one side into the national league setup that has survived at a higher level, with the relegated team finding their place in a competitive setting at a regional level of the game. Not to mention that this success story comes from a Lowland League that was derided at the time by not including 'the big clubs' of the non-league scene - somehow it has coped. And now Junior teams are steadily slinking for the exit door within their dead-end setup for leagues associated with the pyramid setup. On every front then it has been a major success and is working as its proponents intended. If you want a proper debate, you should stop probably stop making such utterly ridiculous assertions without facts to back them up.5 points

People can’t seem to get their head around the fact that the funds aren’t all in one big pot. The budget of improving Stark’s Park is completely separate to the running of the club. The plastic pitch will be going ahead regardless of whether we stay in this league or not.5 points

Funny to see fans of clubs which benefit massively from being the big fish in the junior pond so desperate for the status quo to maintain. There is absolutely no way charlatans like Scott Robertson and Tom Johnston should be allowed anywhere near the administration of a senior west league, they have proven themselves incompetent time and time again, no fixtures, no sponsors, nothing but a knees up for the blazers.4 points

Find it absolutely mental that people don't have the most basic of insurance policies but then I work in Insurance claims and see every day why it's needed.4 points

What is happening now is looking exactly how the SPFL, SFA had it panning out. There stipulation on SFA Licence applications is If any club want a licence then you need to join the pyramid, they knew ambitious Junior clubs would want a licence in time and this was there way of getting them into the system. If the SJFA were open to discussions and showed an appetite to move with the SPFL/SFA then it wouldn’t have come to this I don’t think, SJFA ignored the pyramid which in turn when you look at it has held clubs back from fulfilling their potential. The SPFL want the LL to be as strong as possible so clubs dropping out have an easier landing into a competitive well supported tier 5, they are now on the way to getting that now that the dam seems to have burst on Junior clubs moving into the system. It’s working for the SPFL, SFA and everyone part of the pyramid structure with the only losers looking like the SJFA and some of its ambitious clubs possibly afraid to move but who want to be part of the pyramid and licencing, those clubs are clinging on for dear life in the hope the SJFA can back their corner and produce a positive outcome which is a massive gamble they may regret. West clubs may have an advantage in staying together in the hope they move as 1 into a vacant WOS structure but in the East it’s very much looking like if you snooze you lose.4 points

That’s it confirmed, TGP jnr 2 is a laddie. Was kind of hoping for a wee girl this time but I’m in no way upset or anything. Most importantly everything seems okay with both baby and Mum so far which is great. Can not wait until he makes an appearance now. Told TGP jnr 1 earlier and he was buzzing.4 points

So in fact he just shuffled across the road in his pants and asked McTominay "How's about it?"4 points

Can we please move on? It was out of order and we know it was a ridiculous comment that should have led to a ban, but we're now just dwelling on the matter after it has been dealt with by the mods. I'm ecstatic McGowan has signed on. I hope O'Hara follows suit.3 points

In the 4 seasons he was manager he guided us to our best finish in the top league for over 20 years (twice) and won us the League Cup for the first time in our history. Utterly bonkers to let him go without someone better lined up, as has been proven by our struggles over the next few seasons! Don't sack/get rid of someone for the sake of it. Certainly don't do it just to save some money...3 points

North of England beat South of England at the Oval CricInfo report starts: "The North finally tasted victory against the South at the fifth attempt, winning another hugely entertaining contest by 46 runs, tying the three match series at one apiece, bagged a cheque for 10000 and in so doing achieved something that has been beyond successive UK governments for the better part of 40 years in redistributing money from South to North."3 points

However the numbers pan out. It could well be a decent enough number to disrupt any united effort. More likely to see clubs keep jumping than wait for things to get organised to the SJFA's liking.3 points

Lennon should have been kept on unless we had a better man ready to take over. He was treated badly by the board in not clarifying his situation sooner - deserved better. Incidentally, great to see him doing so well at Clyde now - always a legend.3 points

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but I couldn't see any other Indy threads. https://www.facebook.com/TheCommonWeal/videos/1778683055536024/ I don't think you need a FB account to watch this but it's quite uplifting. I had a tear in my eye watching it - it really does make it all seem possible, manageable and less scary. My copies of A Short Guide to Starting a New Country and its big brother, How to Start a New Country, arrived today so that's my reading for the rest of the week taken care of. I believe they cover the same ground as the video but obviously adding the meat to the bones. They're not about why independence is a good idea or how to achieve it. Instead they describe the tasks that need to be completed before and after the Yes vote. What institutions need to be put in place, what decisions made, etc. Basically answering most of the questions that were unanswered last time round. Looking forward to the chapter on a new Scottish currency. Anybody else reading these?2 points
