  1. That tweet is a bit annoying, tbh. It's like those attention seekers on Facebook who post crap like "Just had the worst day eva!" so people will ask them what's wrong, but then say they don't want to talk about it. It's the line about 'keeping his reasons to himself'. If he really wanted to do that, he wouldn't even hint that there were reasons. Fuxake.

  2. Today is a year since Gary Locke got punted. It’s also a year since we last lost a league game at Stark’s Park. I’m sure we can all agree there’s no correlation between the two... Happy liberation day!

  3. That was a stressful few days trying to organise things and praying for decent weather but that's my first serious input to the park today, quality job done, hopefully it will work. Pictures to follow tomorrow it was too dark when the boy finished. #long way to go.

  4. This month is massive for us now. Every time we've looked like really pushing on this season we've had a bad result or two and that inconsistency has left us looking like we had a 12-12-12 record and sixth place written all over us. Now that we're back into the top four we need to show that the performances that led to results like taking one point from six from a double header with Brechin and Falkirk were just blips that we can stop repeating rather than something that's going to haunt us all season. We've got Queen of the South & ICT away and Livingston at home this month. The club have also, annoyingly, agreed to add Dumbarton away to that the midweek before Livingston, rather than pushing for any other midweek since the game was first called off which would have avoided us playing consecutive midweeks, but I digress. If we take 7-9 points from the three games with the other playoff contenders we'll have set ourselves up very nicely for opening a gap over fifth going into the final quarter; alternatively we can go through it without a win and fall back into the mid-table mediocrity which has threatened us all season. Last season we realistically had a playoff place secured at this point and were favourites for second place. We chucked it and ended up finishing closer to fifth than second before capitulating in the playoffs, a turn of events that had the majority shrugging their shoulders and saying we couldn't expect better rather than asking why we collapsed. We shouldn't rest on our laurels in the same way again. Dundee United are close to going into freefall, we're still to play Livingston three times and we have a game in hand over the sides below us, who are all decidedly average. We can accept that we're bang average too, that dropping points against relegation fodder is inevitable and settle for the patronising tag of being a plucky wee club who can't expect anything better as we limp into sixth or seventh place, or we can recognise that second place is there for the taking once again and actually do it this season.

  10. Then why didn't you? There is literally no-one and nothing stopping you from doing so, so batter on and upload it. I'm guessing you haven't done so because in reality, you're a total shitebag who wants to come across the big man by saying what you're going to do. In reality, you're clearly not going to upload it because you fucking know what will happen. So don't sit behind your keyboard and call other folk keyboard warriors when the only person in this thread who has threatened to do something and not backed it up with action is you. Now, be a man of your word, post the fucking picture and let us all rejoice as you're unceremoniously turfed off the site for good for posting an unverified picture of someone who likely isn't Jon Venables, or put your hands up and admit you've made a rip-roaring c**t of yourself by coming across with these empty threats that are a load of shite, then sit the f**k down and shut the f**k up, you mouth-breathing numbskull.

  12. Again you're having a complete mare here. Ryan Christie was already playing in Scotland, Celtic didn't need to buy him and loan him out again to improve Scottish football. Could you tell me exactly how Celtic signing Scott Allan because Rangers wanted him, not playing him for over a season and then loaning him out to Dundee was good for Scottish football? You're a fucking fanny.

  14. Club certainly seem to have been prepared this January, which you felt hasn’t always been the case in previous windows. One thing I would say is that with Main’s exploits down the other end rightly grabbing most of the attention, the signing of Aldred has somewhat gone under the radar. However given how much of a shambles we were in December without Hartley(and Carson tbf) and the fact he still wasn’t properly fit even after the break, plus he’s now picked up another injury which by all accounts could potentially be a bad one, Aldred’s signing has been every bit as crucial. He’s slotted in at the back effortlessly and fit or not, is rightly keeping Hartley out the team at the minute. The back three of him Kipre and Dunne have all been immense to be fair since coming back from the break. Very early days yet but the fact we’ve brought in two guys who’ve seamlessly replaced Moult and Hartley, two absolutely crucial players for us during the first half of the season, is a huge credit to the scouting/management team.

  15. I am pretty angry with McInnes after the B&G thing to be honest. This is exactly correct. The home support are mostly locals. We are a reserved bunch, slow to get excited, but when we are it is a scene to behold. The away fans are made up from a lot of different areas and also students based in the central belt. Even when were shite we had a big noisy away support. And when we were awesome the home support was subdued, unless we were beating an Ugly Sister or European Giant. I had a bit of a row with some Central Belt Dons fans in Inverness once. They were pissed, and bouncing around chanting and having a great time. Then one of them asked me "how you no singing? Yer no a real fan". Not everyone is fit for jumping about and yelling. I'm certainly not anymore, but I would put my attendance record up against anyone's and I doubt I would be embarrassed. When we have beaten Rangers and Celtic at home there have been amazing atmospheres at Pittodrie. Also in Europe, the Almaty home game, the last ten minutes when we were pressing for a goal, the place was absolutely rocking. McInnes said the team were playing their part but the crowd weren't. I beg to differ. Aberdeen fans wont get excited about beating teams outside the ugly sisters at Pittodrie because we expect to do so. That makes us entitled and arrogant, but its how it is. A bit more entitlement and arrogance from the team and we might actually manage to beat Rangers one day. Consistency does not inspire passion, overcoming the odds does that. If McInnes and any Dons fans want to know what the secret of generating a cauldron like atmosphere at Pittodrie is then I can tell you. Beat Rangers or Celtic there.

  17. I'm sure everybody who's been arguing with Willy about this will be thrilled to see that he doesn't know how the voting on the proposal would work, despite it being mentioned many, many times on here, and despite him thinking that it'll go ahead anyway. You'd genuinely be as well discussing this with the cat.

  21. Happily proven wrong by Robinson, on that front. When he banged on about signing players with 'Character', I presumed he meant a bunch of brutes who were shite at football, but would do what they're told. Turns out he meant he was going to sign a collection of nice blokes, some better at football than others, but all of them capable of fighting every c**t around.

  25. Appears the original quote was an error BUT to clarify, you can convert an existing loan to a permanent transfer outside a window as it doesnt involve the player's registration moving. Raith did it last year as part of their goalkeeper shenanigans when they converted Lennox's loan from Aberdeen to a permanent transfer to free up an overage loan slot.

  27. He did a terrible thing 25 years ago but why exactly is it a lead story on the BBC news? Were they expecting him to be a Nobel Prize winner? He's a grubby individual but sensational reporting of what he gets up to isn't really news, it's a media version of clickbait. Never mind about having a government that wants to steer us back to 1970, you peasants just whip yourself into a frenzy about a nonce and let the Eton toffs get on with running the country for the benefit of them and them alone.

  39. It's incredible reading some of the ignorant 'views' on this from fans who don't give a shit about football at our level. There is a worrying (when I say worrying, I mean worrying for the human race that people are so fucking thick) amount of people arguing about crowds going up etc. Someone is actually trying to argue that a crowd of 389 at Dumbarton v Rangers Colts is good news for teams like Cowden who have an average crowd of less than this as it proves their attendances would go up. It is one of the most absurd comparisons I have ever seen, it's not even clutching at straws, it's just sheer stupidity. This is obviously just one example. I feel for the most part (there are some exceptions) this argument has two sides. On one side, there are people using logic, reason and fact to argue against this while on the other side there are people using ridiculous, bollocks arguments (at best, unproven arguments) like 'well it benefits Spain' and 'aye but crowds would go up and the wee clubs would be happier' etc. I don't like calling people who have different opinions to me thick as it shows a lack of tolerance for others; but frankly with this shite I am intolerant of others. I am intolerant of stupid c***s ignoring the facts and trying to argue for something that there simply isn't a factual argument for.
