  2. Evidence: Each club has currently over 25 years in the top flight unbroken. I don't think any of the other 8 clubs are even currently at 10 successive years in the top flight (Sevco of course haven't even completed 10 years as a club yet). During the last 25 years these 4 clubs have won: 13 Titles 9 Scottish Cups 9 League Cups No real discussion needed, just giving you guys the facts of life.

  3. It should be the expectation but yeah, it's good to see. A huge improvement over Houstie who would be on Sportsound talking about Morelos and Graeme Murty.

  5. You really seem to be having difficulty with this concept, so let's spell it out as simply as possible; Celtic and Rangers are getting pelters for this because they're the ones who proposed it. Beeling about your poor Old Firm experiencing prejudice doesn't change the fact that this would be getting the same treatment if it had been put forward by Aberdeen, Hibernian, or Glenbuck Cherrypickers. You've been handed a variety of reasons why this is a terrible idea that won't achieve what it's been proposed to, alternative ideas that might have a chance of being helpful, and examples of the lack of restriction that might lead a reasonable person to believe that there are ulterior motives at play. You've addressed none of them; your only contribution has been to repeat that *some* directors might be willing to let this go if their club is handed an extra amount of money, as if this is a revelation that we need to be constantly reminded of. And you've the cheek to accuse other posters of stifling debate, lack of thought, kneejerk objections, and prejudice? You'd be on everyone's ignore list for tone trolling by now if it wasn't for the fact that you might apparently have some kind of influence on whether Cowdenbeath votes in favour of this.

  6. The loan system is vastly superior to Colt nonsense. It allows you to tailor where players go, Thistle currently have guys playing lowland league, League 2 and Championship on loan depending where they are in their development. You can’t do that with Colts.

  19. 2 rows of 3 seats facing each other with hardly enough leg room between. We arrive at the final destination, the aisle is full of folk standing to get off. The guy at the window seat decides he'll stand up and push between the rows to be first out. He quickly realises he has nowhere to go and nobody has moved a muscle to help him get through the miniscule gap betwwen the knees. Cue an exasperated, "excuse me.". That was met by "we're all getting off here, why don't you just wait your turn."

  27. Summer of 2016 sent our club to the brink of extinction. £1.7 million in debt, with the worst squad I can remember since Roger Hynd. Even the faux relegation and administration season squad had better players. Burrows was at that time out of his depth, in thrall to McGhee. The horrific decision to award contracts to eight players over the age of thirty-two defied belief. The infamous mismanagement by Burrows announcing that we had budgeted for tenth was an error I doubt he will repeat. McGhee's insult to the players "you may as well sign the contracts as you're going to be unemployed on June 1," set the tone. We are all seasoned Well fans, we know the antics that summer were Keystone Cops without the humour. A year ago we were on our knees, with guys like Zak Jules causing us eye-bleeds, and taking doings every other week while McGhee sunbathed with the Scotland squad. Has the podcast done a forensic on last season? It was dire, dire beyond belief. How Robinson kept us up was a modern miracle. What he has done so far this season is well nigh miraculous too. We have two academy players cemented in the first team squad, a third break in down the door. For the first time in years we have a squad with a multi-million pound resale value. We have a manager who has been fast to rectify mistakes. Burrows us far more effective now than before too, he has grown into the job. Top six is on the cards, we're still in the Scottish cup. Our new signings seem to have hit the ground running. True, we're not easy on the eye. That wasn't the remit this season, survival was. With the unexpected transfer windfalls we're moving towards being debt free. A few players will leave the club this summer, but the 2018 rebuild won't be a fraught as last year. We're going the right way. And yes, we'd love to see a generational player like McFadden break through, we'd love to see fast, free flowing football. But let's be realistic, we're a Poundland club that's punching above it's weight. We're doing fine.

  37. I think that will continue to happen but there’s also no way Saints will continue to win week in, week out. We will drop points too. I do think we are the best team in the division, but I don’t think there is a huge amount in it. Although we are winning games at the moment it’s not as if we’re winning them by 3 or 4 goals. These 1 goal wins can easy become 1 goal losses. Long way to go. I’ve seen us lose a cup final to 9 men. I won’t believe we’ve won the league until I see that trophy in McGinns hands!

  41. We've seen the difference having a decent keeper makes to the team and I think for the sake of £500k, we'd be fucking mad to sell Carson in the January window when we are sitting 5 points off the playoffs and where an adequate replacement is going to be near impossible to get at a day's notice. It neatly sums up the wrecking ball that Celtic are in our league - injury to their keeper? Take another team's best player to sit on the bench - nae bother. I'm not naive however - Carson, like Ciftci and countless others before would jump at the chance even though he'll find himself not even making the matchday squad by April. Also, we shouldn't be digging Celtic out of any holes after their antics earlier in the season - f**k them.

  43. Cowden Cowboy is not in favour of the colt proposal, folks. It's worth repeating, considering that he keeps coming across as though all he's waiting for is a fatter slice of cash to help wave it through. An unfortunate affliction.

  44. Looking at Darren Young’s interview post match he looked as deflated as the Fife fans leaving Bayview. Last two weeks have been no where near good enough by anyone’s standards. Too many players performing way below the standard they have set or are capable off. Doesn’t sound like he is going to be able to persuade any players to join for a combination of reasons. So it looks like we’re left with the 15 or so players we have. In a way I feel sorry for Darren as its not him making the basic individual errors every week, and he can’t really slaughter the guys making the mistakes as he knows with a small squad he will have to play them again next week. One win in 2 calendar months doesn’t fill anyone with confidence. Many football club boardrooms would be ready to pull the trigger, but I don’t think chopping and changing managers at this level is the answer. Some of the guys who have been the backbone of our team over the last 3 seasons just haven’t made the same contribution this season.Due to a combination of injuries and other things players like Johnny page, Kevin Smith, Kyle Wilkie Chris Kane, and Pat Slattery have been struggling to reach the heights we know they can. If you look at the Forfar 2nd goal no East Fife player matched the guys desire to win the header and that’s the bit that annoys the fans, we don’t seem to be able to match any teams hard work or desire to win a football match. Maybe just too many players in the squad who are happy to come 2nd best.I truly hope Darren can work some magic and bring in a couple of players with a heart and desire to be winners.
