  1. Pretty sure it’s in the summer but I’d imagine he’ll be happy to stay. Does pick up quite a few injured but he’s absolutely vital to the team when he’s fit. Like a different team when he plays. Absolutely fucking love him.

  3. This is an oft returned to subject. Folk that don't know how to get through airport security quickly. Get everything out your pockets, belts off and ready to go in the wee box whilst you're standing in the fucking queue!!! Then, once you've held everyone up on the way through, don't stand putting your belt and shoes back on at the conveyor at the other side, pick your stuff up, get the f**k out of my way and move away, you ignorant c**t.

  4. The stuff about "the big hoose" guy has been distinctly distasteful. No doubt about that. However, you betray a complete misunderstanding in the rest of your post. Celtic fans don't really hate Rangers. That's why their gates fell away in your absence. It's the diddy fans who do actually despise Rangers, as well as their sister club. You need to distinguish pantomime antipathy from the real thing.

  9. I don't think that's there mentality at all. It's purely about seeing the benefits to themselves. The vast majority of Junior clubs aren't one of the big teams, so there's not the same risk in losing crowds or worrying about not challenging for honours. I doubt the likes of Dalkeith, who have never played in the Superleague, are thinking about promotion to the SPFL. However the can challenge for promotion to the Lowland League and once licenced benefit more from an SFA membership than a SJFA one. So there's nothing to lose and everything to gain.

  12. Is YoonDave not aware of Her Glorious Majesty's (gawd bless her!) Scotch Whisky Regulations 2009, as enacted by the UK Houses of Parliament, the supreme law-making body of these Sceptered Isles? Regulation 5(2) specifically states "A person must not manufacture any whisky in Scotland except Scotch Whisky" Accordingly, by defining any Scotch Whisky as "British", Marks & Spencer are defying Parliament's will, and thus defying our anointed sovereign ruler. This is surely serious justification for demanding that M&S are prosecuted to the full extent of the Great British law for offences up to and including sedition & treason. Alternatively, is he just trolling the forum (as usual)?

  13. Went along to the game with my son today as a neutral (taking advantage of kids go free promo) . Always wanted to visit Cappielow and excited to see Falkirk after bodying Dundee Utd. Really enjoyed watching Falkirk ... thought you won the battle and started to play all the football as far as I could see. Team looked far fitter and leaner than Morton. Impressed with Sibbald and Grant .. never stopped organising and won just about everything. Respect to the fans on the open end terrace . All the best for the rest of season.

  14. I've watched this topic for a while now and a few things keep nagging at me. 1) the thread is on the future but many of the justifications are about the present. Yes some junior teams are better than EOS league but will they be in 10 years? I have more respect for the club that looks 10 years ahead than the one that lived for the day. Every club should be asking 'what does Scottish football look like in 20 years? Where do we need to be? For that, I assume Kelty and Dalkeith have done their projections. I know my local club haven't. 2) what do you think your fan base looks like in 20 years? When I was at primary school, half my class was at the junior games. Last time I watched my.local team play, in the premier league, there was 46 people and only one under 16. With competing priorities, how will your club get fans when, no offence, the oldies now die. Football is an entertainment. If spurs v Liverpool is on at 12:45, that's what I'm watching. If it's West Brom v stoke, I'll go to a junior game. Blind loyalty is gone for the newer generations. Simple as that. 3) why do people think that Scotland NEEDS the juniors to have a successful pyramid in place? Any changes that include the juniors will need to be instigated by the juniors. Scottish football doesn't need the juniors and if it stopped tomorrow, my guess is that the impact would not be devastating. Therefore junior clubs either accept the limitations and circumstances or move to the pyramid.

  17. I don't think I've been overly negative and my assessment is only based on his performances in the navy blue. I also mentioned in my first post that I think he will do far better in a team at the other end of the table. He's only played at Sheffield United and Oldham since leaving Falkirk; one set of supporters have the same view as myself and Sheffield United were stuck in League 1 then binned a lot of players, including Flynn, and went on to win the league. He's a top guy off the park and I really hope he does well for you as he certainly has the natural ability. I'd much prefer St. Mirren to win the league this season.

  20. Excellent to hear from someone not a Pie & Bovril keyboard jock, nor a die hard fan. Just someone who wants to enjoy a decent game of football locally. The very people the junior hierarchy don't bother with. Fixture lists can be created at the start of the season (they already have the software to do it but there is a lack of willingness to use it!) results in paying someone £15k per annum to indulge them in forever fiddling with fixtures, next batch released for the next couple of weeks decided in secret and then slipped into the public domain quietly. What a total and complete waste of money. All because someone can't use technology or prefers it the way it is. Everything is in secret. The powers that be seemed to get annoyed for some reason when people find out w.hat they are getting up to. Time to get people like that punted no matter the number of years "service" they have given. These people are NOT acting for the good of the game.

  24. Both he and Richard Gordon fucking hate us as well after they made complete c***s of themselves over the 8/8/8 league plan and launched some pretty disgraceful attacks on Gilmour ( at the behest of Milne and Lawell). Both of them sounded like they'd been a little bit sick in their mouths today.

  30. Kevin presumably, by all accounts the striker Stevie missed out on earlier in the month. Scored twice in 20 games for Ayr United last season before they decided not to renew his loan. So clearly he would’ve been a far better addition than a guy who’s scored 50 goals since the SPFL was rebranded...

  31. Kenny Miller in his late 30’s has to try like f**k to stay at the top of his game. Caballero could walk out eating a bag of kettle chips and be top scorer in this league.

  33. Wow all those glorious years that the East Fife fans of old witnessed before they past away, sadly they’re now turning in their graves at what the modern people of Methil have let their once great club become. An utter irrelevance who play at a glorified bus stop in front of less fans than a bus stop and can’t even beat Raith Rovers in over 29 years. Best read that glorious history book one more time before bed.

  37. Ryan was a very good player with quick feet and a willingness to take players on down he wing. Bearing in Ming this was around 7 years ago. He played for a bit at RWB for Sheff Utd but his position with us was generally on the right wing in and 442 or on the right of a 3 behind a lone striker. He’d be an excellent signing for you guys.

  38. Dramatic night tonight. Was through at Broadwood where Whitehill were impressive in a 3-0 win away to 2nd placed Cumbernauld. Elsewhere Spartans and Heriot-Watt were beaten away to Bonnyton and Edusport so Whitehill only behind Spartans now on goal difference.

  39. Will be a cracking addition to the side. Still on the right side of 30, no real injury history, a good pedigree with 200 games at league 1 level and will operate as a natural right mid which will allow Magennis to move inside.

  40. KILMARNOCK have opened talks with Kris Boyd over a new deal to extend his stay at Rugby Park. Fans’ favourite Boydy, 34, has scored six goals in the last five matches under new manager Steve Clarke. That has helped Killie soar into the Premiership top six in an unbeaten six-game run. Boyd has 12 goals for the season, with boss Clarke eager to tie him down until the summer of 2019. Talks are at an advanced stage and it’s likely the ex-Scotland striker will put pen to paper next week.

  42. Yeah that's the point. The home sponsors. Instead of scrambling around with a week or so of notice the club can market sponsorship weeks in advance. It's a big difference.

  43. I live in Dalkeith and have sadly been solidly part of the ambivalence towards the football team part of the town. The main reason for this on my part is lack of fixture lists. I'm generally going to commit to something else on a Saturday rather than wait and see if there happens to be a game in town. And if I do find I have a floating Saturday then I have seven teams playing in the county, not to mention Edinburgh on the doorstep, so I'll take my pick. At the moment there is only one Dalkeith home game scheduled, while the EOSFL has fixtures planned through to end of April. I think having a fixture schedule in place will be really positive locally, and definitely in regard to the bookings for the wee hospitality cabin. I'm not saying I'll become a super fan overnight, but I do expect I'll make more than my 2-3 games per season if I have something to plan towards. I wish them a lot of luck. For them to jump up the pyramid like these before the juniors will eventually move en masse is I think a smart move. Time will tell if that advantage lasts!!

  45. Waiting outside Maribor's ground before the game, Joe was standing on a raised balcony bit above the Dons fans. He conducted hundreds of us singing his song up to him. It was one of my favourite moments of being a football fan. A pure instance of the beauty this mental game we follow can generate every once in a while . Just wonderfully nostalgic. Joey being adored by a crowd of whom very few were old enough to have seen him play, but all knew we were in the presence of greatness.
