  3. I like Aero. He's a big lummox of a centre half being played out of position and asked to do things that don't come natural but by christ the man tries. He never hides and is vocal trying to organise. He may not be the most skilled but he has the right attitude.

  4. You bump into each other because you tell each other how good and virtuous you are. The truly altruistic don't feel the need to tell anyone. You're assuming I'm a c**t because I don't do these great things. In truth, you think I'm a c**t because I DON'T TELL EVERYONE what things I do. I think you're both c***s for doing these things so you can tell everyone you do them. You go f**k yourself

  5. The third worst poster in P&B history begins with an apology by way of a confession. My point about oaksoft, about how he brings no redeeming qualities in the way bennett and 8Mile do, wasn't supposed to be included there. It was supposed to be here. My own vote for top place, this poster's net contribution to P&B is unquestionably the worst of anyone who's ever been on the forum. My thanks again go to Mon Dieu: There have been boring entries, like mozza and Zen Archer. There have been rage inducing entries like Supras. There have been entries of literal idiots, like Jmo. There have been innumerable entrants who draped themselves over the forum like a moth-eaten curtain infested with ebola. None of them have done this with the combined intensity of Grim O'Grady. Posts about some diddy team in the whatever-level-is-below-the-seaside leagues don't count. Nobody gives a f**k. What was Grimbo's worst quality? Well, I suppose it was just that. Grimbo. Every post ended with Grimbo by means of a sign-off, which the feeble minded still, decades after the invent of the internet message board, use. Fucking look at it. Nothing in P&B's history has been quite the byword for eye-bleeding horror to the extent the name Grimbo has. Remember when people realised he was boring and he changed it to G-bore? When he tried to be cool and changed it to G-Bo? My fucking christ, what a fucking travesty. Part of the infamous dotting campaigns of the past year, With Grimbo you always got the distinct sense that he took P&B far more seriously than everyone else. Maybe his life was a bit empty, maybe he's not right in the head, either way if there's one thing this list has proven it's that the people who will talk down message boards as a concept who take them the most seriously. That such things as dotting campaigns exist, that anyone would care enough at all to organise a thing, just sit and consider that for a second. Grown men. The search for validation from our peers is something that sits with us all throughout our entire lives but when you see the extent to which some people take it, you wonder. I'm dancing around the ultimate issue here, of course. I'm reluctant to base these entries and the resultant criticisms on posters' personal lives too much, but there are an inevitable few who leave us with no choice. With that in mind I'll offer the abridged version. In fact, I'll leave you with the words of the Spartans club secretary: He said: "Grim saw smoke in the distance and made a joke saying 'I hope it isn't my house' and then five minutes later his son phoned and said it was their house on fire. "He was in an awful panic as he was worried about his pets. "His whole house is gutted and his family only have the clothes on their backs, they have lost everything else. "He is such a great man that we felt we must help him in any way we can so he can buy food and clothes and pay for accommodation." Oh dear, thinks P&B. Your lovable if only in small doses uncle's had a bad time, let's give him a break for a bit til he gets things in order. Then a year later the truth outs. The money raised from the subsequent online donation page goes towards renovating a house in Bolton he rents out. The rest he spends on a cruise. I'm not one to question the actions of people in such an obviously awful position but I think given the sense of community present on P&B the level of deception by omission on display here was disgraceful. Still, it did give Skidmarks the opportunity to spawn the phrase "crispy pets," so never let it be said that P&B can't make the best of a bad situation. The revelation of Grimbo's holiday was the beginning of the end. A descent further into madness and thread ruining banality followed, eventually becoming embroiled in the fiasco which saw Tedi and StandFree03 emptied. In the six months before that though I was a vocal advocate for his removal, citing his complete lack of any redeeming qualities and general ability to ruin any thread he posted on - mostly by talking about himself. After his banning he reappeared with a new account, ostensibly existing only to post match highlights or whatever in the relevant forums. I think he lasted three days before posting in General Nonsense again. Guess what he was posting about. Your words: "made this part of the forum unreadable for a long time. Was so boring that I couldn't finish his posts, even two liners. Descended in to lunacy towards the end and was rightly binned." "the world is a better place without his twee fraudulent ways and signing off with your own name is the behaviour of an actual nonce." "Made General Nonsense unreadable towards the end of his P&B career." "Absolutely destroyed GN with his attention seeking antics and its never really recovered to be honest. Even before him going full mentalist his posting style was a fucking trudge." "I liked him to begin with, he was harmless, but f**k me, he completely ruined threads, total me, me, me with him. Utter dick." "boring and tedious as f**k, continuous look at me patter took the extreme which has been well documented, making national news nonetheless. A genuinely terrible terrible poster, probably has a face like a thigh. " "he set his house on fire" "I skimmed past just about all of his posts, but unfortunately others didn't which saw the quality of just about every thread he was involved in plummet through the floor. He was like the scumbaggery of 8mile, the shite puns of Zen Archer and the sheer boredom of Bishop Briggs rolled into one. His con-job on the goodwill of others after he burnt his house down also showed him up as an immensely unpleasant person." "tried to kill off GN by having f**k all to say but sharing it multiple times a day on every single thread. Murders animals and involved in charity fraud" "serial thread ruiner. Used money donated to him to get him back on his feet for an expensive cruise before admitting he also owned a 2nd home where he was trying to con money out of the local council." I don't know if he's still on P&B, but the opportunity to bask in the attention this post will garner will surely flush him out if he is. With 70 points and 8 first place votes, @Grim O'Grady, @Grim O"Grady, @Spartans Telly, whatever he was, the third worst P&B has to offer.

  8. I'm guessing our back four on Saturday will be Tumilty Muirhead Grant McGhee. Kidd must be finished if we're signing this boy for a month rather than playing him. Good.

  9. To be fair, when people say this, I think they just look at performances in the league, certain big results etc. If you actually look at the transformation of the club since we appointed Derek, it is night and day. Put the 2nd place finishes to one side for a second. He has no reservations about telling the chairman that our training facilities are unacceptable. He demands the most out the team week in week out, whatever you say about his big game record, he has always been consistent against teams below us. Whether it was realistic or not, for a season or two he had the club and the fans believe the unthinkable might be possible. Listen to anyone who's played for him, even the fringe players, they love him. I'd be surprised if the managers you're thinking of could do significantly better than gorgeous Derek.

  12. Anyone else heard the rumour about Craigen and Muirhead coming to blows after the game on Sunday? Was told this but obviously no idea if there was any truth in it. Tbh I’m disappointed if Robbie Thomson didn’t kick f**k out of every single one of them for the lack of protection he got.

  17. A good, athletic right-back at u20 level. Tumilty was used at right-wing in McIntyre's last first team match as manager and Tumilty was really out of his depth there, subbed at half-time, but that isn't how he should be judged. Tumilty has a bit of learning to do to become a good pro, but he'll get up and down the flank a lot, he's big and has a bit of pace. Much more of a natural full-back than someone like Muirhead but not as dynamic as say Duffie. He's keen to push into the final third. When he got game time last season he showed a fair bit of promise but was naive in some of his positioning, which goes with the territory of being a u20 full-back. Jason Naismith arrived in Jan and has become one of the top flight's better right-backs, so Tumilty hasn't had a look in when County have played a back four, which is almost all of this season. McIntyre trusted him as a wing-back in a 3-5-2 last season when injuries hit. No guarantees as to how he'll do, but he seems to just need first-team experience to be a good enough full-time player. ETA: Last time I saw him was at right-back in the recent friendly Highland Derby in the November itn'l break and he looked very comfortable. ICT's Zak Elbouzedi played at left-wing and looked quite rapid but Tumilty marked him well.

  21. No I don't. You're forgetting we lived through the Jimmy Calderwood era, which from the outside you'd call a great success. 3rd/top 6 finishes year on year, a good European run etc. What you might call minimum expectation for a Dons manager. However, he was widely regarded as a buffoon. His career since has proved that to be right. Calderwood never held the respect amongst the fans that Mcinnes has now. And for good reason. Derek is a class above, he can't control the other clubs imploding around him. It's actually quite funny seeing clubs that drove themselves into the ground coming up smug trying to downplay our achievements based on their own failures. f**k them.

Ignoring the HUGE fact the Black Friday is not a thing in the UK, seeing as it is the Friday after Thanksgiving ( a stupid Yank holiday), The number of TV and radio ads for Black Friday Sales that are lasting 'ALL WEEKEND' or '5 DAYS' or 'A FORTNIGHT' or '48 HOURS'. Friday is still just one day lasting 24hours ?

  39. Yeah. I think it's pretty unlikely that he deliberately burned his house and killed his pets as part of a scam. It is, however, pretty likely that, having had to go through that tragedy, he took advantage of the situation to make money out of others' goodwill under false pretences. Which is still massively cuntish behaviour.

  45. Kenny Dalglish played for Liverpool from 1977 to 1990, the last four years he was player-manager and spent more time in the dugout than on the pitch so excluding those, lets look at the period 1977-1986. During this period Liverpool won three European Cups (1977, 1981 and 1984) and finished runners-up once (1985). They also won it in 1976, the season before Dalglish was signed. It's fair to say that they were one of the leading teams in European football during this period. During this time period, he won five English league titles, a time when English football was dominant - Nottingham Forest (x2) and Aston Villa also won European cups, Ipswich Town and Tottenham won the UEFA Cup and Everton won the Cup Winners Cup during this period. Arsenal also lost a Cup Winners Cup final. individually Dalglish played fifty or more games in all of these seasons - in five of the first six seasons he scored more than twenty goals in all competitions. He won three English player of the year awards (two from the Football Writers Association, one from the PFA) and was runner up in the European Footballer of the Year award in 1983. I don't really see how anyone could dispute that Liverpool were a world class team or that Dalglish was a world class player during this time period.

  46. Hiya lads. Sorry to jump in here as a semi-lurker, but just wanted to flag up the Walking Down the Provie Road site. We launched a week or two ago and we’re basically trying to do something similar to the MFC podcast/Heart and Hand, but for the righteous club of Dundee. Dundee Barry has been very generous in providing P & B gold The Real Leigh Griffiths Blog, as well as brand new material in Dear Jocky. We’ve also got videos, playlists and articles, and our first podcast should go out this Thursday night, technology permitting. Anyway, the website is www.provieroadpod.com , twitter account is @provieroadpod and FB is www.facebook.com/provieroadpod . It’s just a small bunch of us for now, so don’t judge the rough and ready design too much, but all thoughts welcome. Except from happyaccie, you chippy, obsessed oddball. DDYB x
