  1. I actually can't stand a section of our support. The club branch out to do a launch like this out in the community in conjunction with a local business, yet we still have puddle drinkers foaming at the mouth. Firstly, it's a strip launch so really not worth getting worked up about. Seconded, the club have actually done quite a good thing that was by all accounts well received.

  2. Might be time for you to go to bed. A. Society is a sponsor so this was part of the deal. B. Society is a good venue and the food will have been petter than a pishy cold pie from Mario. C. I wasn't at Society but you do have a point, I can be a freeloader at times. I love a compo. D. I suspect the food was free at Society. It wouldn't have been free from Mario as he'd have to pay for his own staff. E. Aye let's all stand in a cold South Stand concourse to look at a few football shirts and talk to the players, sounds a laugh and no double there'd be more people moaning because of how sh*te it would've been if held at Stark's. F. The volunteers you speak of, do we just assume they also want to give up their midweek night in the summer for a shirt unveiling. Is that enough for you? Some people here will find any reason to criticise the club. Nobody, including myself, knows the exact ins and outs of every decision.

  3. I'm all for finding reasons to slag off Falkirk, but there was nothing embarrassing about Vaduz. They're basically the Swiss equivalent of Falkirk. It probably isn't even in the top 25 bad Scottish results in Europe.

  5. Looks like it's gonna be nice and peaceful in here till the real stuff begins, with the weirdos from Perth pumped out of Europe and the silly DABs still DOON as f**k with their jobby sleeves. Teckle.

  6. This thread is getting dangerously optimistic. I reckon we should all be back down to earth following the almost inevitable dismal result against Buckie in the Betfred in a couple of weeks. I predict that the highlight of the season will be when McCann introduces himself as a substitute (for Berba...), topless and with his name scribbled in marker pen on his back, against Rangers in April, scores a hat-trick in 5 minutes and then kung-fu kicks one of their manky fans before getting sacked for finishing in the bottom 6 (compensation package to include a lifetime supply of Rolexs and cardigans). Regardless of who we sign or who is in cherge, this is still Dundee and we never cease to amaze.

  7. Falkirk losing to a Swiss Super league team shouldn't even register in people's minds as the worst Scottish result in Europe. Only utter simpletons would think this.

  8. In short, it's because Celtic would be only 1, possibly 2 titles behind them. That's all that matters to them, staying ahead of Celtic in titles won.

  9. Absolutely this. Rangers football club and its fans had the chance to come out and say "aye, we made a c**t of it, we spent money we didn't have and it's caught up with us. It's our own fault and thank you very much for allowing us back into the league system and giving us a second chance to do the right thing. Thanks to the SFA/ SPL/ SFL for bending over backwards and re-writing the rules to try and allow us to enter at one of the two top leagues to make our journey a bit easier. While we are disappointed to start In the bottom tier, we can understand why the members have voted against us. We will do our best to support our team home and away and spread a bit of wealth across the country." Instead we got "we are being punished for nothing, we will protest against the SFA and will refuse to attend away games so clubs cannot get near our blue pound. We hate every c**t for what you have done to us so unfairly and we will have our revenge. We are the people." It's actually unbelievable that they feel like they do when you think about what's happened.

  10. Jesus Christ. The thing is, you don't even need science to prove it was cheating. None of that. Paying money to players that should not have been paid gives you an advantage in signing players other teams couldn't. I can only imagine where we would be if we had that £48 million instead of you. Think we'd have managed more than 2 League 2 titles. Fortunately though we aren't cheats.

  11. I see the BBC website is once again listing our defeat to Vaduz over extra time and two legs as one of the worst results in Europe for Scottish clubs despite the fact that they actually play in the Swiss Premier League and are experienced European campaigners. In fact I see they thumped Bala Town of Wales 5-1 on aggregate last night. Strangely no mention of Hearts being beaten over two legs, including at home by a Maltese opposition. Lazy journalism at its worst.

  12. The SFA & former SPL knew that Rangers FC est1872 was going down the shitter well over a year at least and then made radical changes to their rule books to save Rangers from liquidation by creating some mythical company to blame for Rangers problems. Not only that they wrote into their rules various legal shit to protect the club from having it's honours stripped from them should they be found guilty. The SPL commission was a sham hearing already rigged before it had taken place to protect their new club called Rangers. They thought no old firm then all the sponsors would piss off which didn't happen and Armageddon was another false dawn peddled to frighten everyone that without a Rangers FC in the SPL clubs would go bust which also didn't happen.

  20. There is certainly the potential for a lot of fans groups to make some noise and some, perhaps unwise, decisions around challenges in the courts. I'm not sure what is worse though, making some dodgy and potentially doomed to failure appeal in the courts or what appears to be the current setting for most fans, shaking their head and saying "there's no point, we won't get anywhere and it was ages ago so it doesn't matter now". Of course it matters. It's not even so much Rangers cheating but more that the SFA were so complicit in allowing it and that they still are determined to try and cover it up. If anything THAT should be where the focus lies.

  22. Houston's hands are tied a bit with the right backs at the moment, Kidd was brought in to start there but has turned to be gash. Muirhead does an OK job in that position. Issue is we have two first team wages contracted there, I can't see us using a third in that position. I agree that ideally we'd have Muirhead back up RB and CB but we can only pish with the cock we've got this summer. Probably tough to get Kidd off the books for the wage we'll be paying him. Big areas of need for me are a creative midfielder (Sibbald hopefully) and a competent left back with at least a couple of years experience (not McHattie, who is absolutely horrendous). I'd love to see us bring in another exciting striker but I have high hopes he'll let O'Hara be the first option off the bench. Great to see him getting a goal in the first friendly. With his pace and finishing ability he is an asset for us.

  25. In an ideal world we would have recruited in both full back areas. A left back to help Gallacher, and a right back to displace Muirhead/Kidd. Whilst Gallacher is a fantastic talent, it may be unfair to rely on him consistently for 36 league games. We seen him have an encouraging start last year when he came in, which ended up with a poor game away at Morton in the cup. Young players generally tend to find issues with consistency in performance so having an alternative, perhaps slightly more experienced option who could be depended upon. Despite having two first team options there, I believe right back is the weakest point in the team. Although he never started his career there, I think we've got to recognise Muirhead as a right back. It's a position he has played consistently for at least two seasons now for us. Defensively I think he is sounder than Kidd, despite what some of the stats would suggest, but ultimately his weakness is going forward with the ball. This is something you'd hope the coaching staff, in particular McDonagh and Maybury, would look to coach into him, especially since the latter played in that position. If he could improve on that side of his game, he'd be an ideal right back for this level. Kidd came in last season on the assumption he is a wing back, a more natural wide sided defender. But doesn't contribute going forward as much as you'd perhaps expect and he's not as good defensively as Muirhead. I'd have looked for a new right back and Muirhead as cover for both this position and centre half. Muirhead Luca/Watson Grant & Gallacher isn't the worst back 4 combination we've had since being in this league, time will tell how it compares to other defences in this division.

  31. Is the The Kincardine who is repeatedly insisting that LNS found Rangers guilty the same The Kincardine who responded to the LNS verdict by repeatedly insisting LNS had only found Rangers guilty of "administrative errors"? I'll say this for the "moon howlers": you get the same exaggeration and over-excitement you do on most online forums, but their position has been fairly consistent since the Rangers cheating story broke. The Newco fans though, they've been all over the place for years, desperate flailing. The only consistent position they've held is their utter refusal to look reality in the eye.

  32. Best Looking to ugliest managers in the league: 1. Neil McCann: I'd probably shag him 2. Derek McInnes: Although he's an ex Dab he's one of the more fortunate ones I would say. It's no surprise that his players wives love to jump in his bed. 3. Brendan Rodgers. The lack of stress in the easiest job of world football has done no harm to the ageing process. 4. Lee McCulloch: We're already getting into the ugly ones. 5. Steve Robinson: Best of a bad bunch. 6. Pedro Caixinha: His tan edges him into the top 6. 7. Alan Archibald. Ugly b*****d but has youth on his side. 8. Jim McIntyre. Ugly DAB b*****d. 9. Ian Cathro. Not a pleasant sight. 10. Martin Canning[emoji40] 11. Tommy Wright. Fat specky c**t. 12. Neil Lennon. 34. The Slovak league had all three of its entrants Progrés to QR2 and their season doesn't start until the end of this month. Their 'Saint Johnstone' level of entrant also had a much harder tie against the Serbian side Vojvodina which it duly won. The Slovak domestic league remains weaker and far, far poorer in financial terms than its Scottish equivalent though. There is no legitimate excuse for falling at the first hurdle to micro-state dross. That is chiefly down to Rangers being an absolute shambles and Tommy Wright being a tactical dinosaur.

  35. Indeed. The two of them have realised that Dundee are top dogs once more and have evacuated the scene quicker than Granny Danger with a meal ticket. It's time for us Dees to sit back, pour a whiskey and light a big dirty b*****d of a cigar. We're not stupid like the DABs thinking this will last for the rest of our lifetime, but at the moment it is an undisputed fact. We are the top team in our region and for miles around. We sit in the Dens castle with no c**t in a long distance comparable with our strength. When the Dabs ride upto the Derry fortress on the 30th we'll send them in a scattered retreat back to the Angus hills after looting their pre-match optimism. The strapping old horse Lorraine Kelly can even whisk them back in style. Furthermore, when St Johnstone get relegated this year then the region will finally be clear of the pretenders. I can't wait. Thank you.

  39. I personally think it's a disgrace that Alan Young never hosted it in his conservatory. The guys a disgrace, if he was genuinely sorry for last season, he'd have got us all round and had Spence and Davo serving platters of mince, steak and macaroni pies in their new shirts. Clubs a joke! Imagine trying something new...

  40. You're losing it a little here, Friend. SPL clubs voted not to have the Newco admitted to the top tier. That was absolutely and unequivocally in response to lobbying by fans of these clubs who threatened to withhold money. You are not at any stage going to get me defending how people like Gilmour at St Mirren behaved over the following days. They cynically tried to bully SFL clubs into ensuring the exile lasted just one year, but joyfully failed. I fully accept that the SPL vote quite possibly went in the way it did, in anticipation of the SFL one turning out differently. I know what the SPL was all about and I need no reminding of the self interest and greed behind its inception and subsequent operation. As for 0p in the pound CVAs being acceptable, of course they're not. I've said before that in a moral sense regarding meeting obligations, there's not a vast difference between the behaviour of Dundee, Livingston etc and Rangers. The things that have happened to Rangers however, have come about due to liquidation - an altogether different process. To deny that that makes a difference here, is simply stupid.
