Not a fan of a one-off final at all. To me, the playoff is to decide the best team to be playing in a higher division. It is easy to fluke a one off game, but over two legs, we are more likely to see if there are any big differences between the two teams. Kilmarnock totally dominated the first game last season but ended up losing 1-0. For them to end up in Championshop given their superiority to Falkirk in terms of quality would have been awful. For Accies fans, they may not have been promoted against Hibernian had it been one leg, and we'd have continued with a dire Hibernian in the top league. Two games normally allows the better quality team to shine through. Another reason is that it is a distinctly different system to England. When we moan about everything having to copy our larger neighbour in football, the two legged final offers something totally different to down south. A slow burner, the narrative can build up over two legs in front of both sets of fans rather than at the soulless national stadium. Both clubs will likely have their biggest attendances of the season this week. Third and perhaps most importantly, we got to see Motherwell skelp Sevco twice. Halving the level of hilarity of a diddy skelping one of the Ugly Sisters is a no from me.

Next season I'd imagine we could easily have the biggest budget in the league if Dundee Utd go up. Or if not their certainly won't be a lot in it between a few teams. All this pish about the board needing to release funds is absolute nonsense. We should be living within our means and quite rightly so. Houston will be given one of the biggest budgets in the league next year and if he chooses to waste that on dross like Henderson, Shepherd, Kidd or Kerr and Baird who are now way past their best then that is not the boards problem but solely down to Houston.

We need to scout more for players at a young age who perhaps have been released from a bigger club down south as those kids are usually desperate to make a career. Played Craigen in his actually positions on 3 occasions this year and shock, scored in all 3 and was one the best players on the park, play him behind Austin and a proper goalscoring striker next year and i'll be confident going into next year

Woods is just a run of the mill midfielder that rarely has a positive impact on games. There are a lot better out there. I'd rather Chow played. Routis is comfortably our best central midfielder. Signing O'Brien would be a good piece of business

There is nothing wrong with the play off system. If you are good enough, you will be promoted.

If Houston believes they are past it he could be negotiating with them on the basis of "You can stay, as per your contract, but it will be bit part roles at best" and see how they feel about that prospect. Rankin left and went straight into the queen's team week in week out because he wasn't getting game time with us so clearly made the decision that he could get the contract and play in the first team elsewhere. This is not to say I don't question the bizarre decision, if true, to include these clauses in the first place but I don't think it's as simple as we have to keep them and play them because of that. I'm sure there are options should Houston decide they don't fit the plan anymore.
