  1. Nope, wrong again. As usual, you're trying very, very hard to wind people up and failing miserably. What Dundee fans are in 'absolute tatters'? The only thing more embarrassing than our performance is your constant sniveling approach to trolling. We all (largely) expected to get thumped tonight, we've been awful all season. There are very few Dundee fans that would disagree with this. You, above all, should know this as you spend so much time in here. I think we're all being pretty level headed considering the nature of the defeat — people have been calling for Hartley to get the sack since 5-6 games into the season so this isn't new information. Again, you know this though. No-one reacts to your pish, because you are a boring, sad human that contributes absolutely nothing. Thank you.

  3. Having watched both players frequently over the past couple of years I can confidently say Clyde are getting two quality players. I think Gourlay has the potential to be an internationalist in the future and Waddell has consistently been our top performer in the Under 20 team. Goes to meet every ball and can head the ball further than most people can kick it. Will certainly try to get to a couple of Clyde games before the season's end to cheer these guys on.

  4. I shan't revisit the Quiz vs the P&P threads debate but I will make one observation...the more people have joined the leagues and the cup the better the thread's become. Good banter, good manners and not a hint of dummy-spitting {edit} until eckterinathearab gives you a shitty away tie in the cup when she should know better.

While doon sooth, nobody ever mentions the day job being fucked over by brexit as the NHS crumbles, prisons riot, Liss Truss is ridiculed by the judiciary and Amber Rudd can't make a statement without giving away the fact she knows absolutely nothing about anything other than how to be a bit racist.

  9. Absolutely spot on Kincy. I first came in here around September/October time and at no point since has there been any animosity or bickering. There's not another thread I go in where there isn't someone being a knob hence not being a regular contributor anywhere else. I may not be a quizmaster but that's not really the point tbf. And in fairness to Cardy, he's a fairly jovial chap who keeps things ticking along.

  11. A very early kick-off to the play-off between Deej and Supermik. I asked the total value of all the properties in Monopoly. Deej went for £5,050 and Super "Never having played Monopoly for about 30 odd years I have no idea" Mik £38,000. The correct answer was 120 + 220 + 540 + 560 + 680 + 800 + 920 + 750 + 800 + 300 = £5,690. Deej was closer so he retains his Premiership status... hardlines to Supermik but your players can hold their heads up high! Edit: Nobody spotted my mistake. It's actually 320, not 220 and the answer is £5,790. What a cad.

  13. Regardless of what people think of Bain I think it is absolutely mental people think Mitchell is the answer. Before I hear the "oh but he kept 2 clean sheets argument" - He kept 2 clean sheets because Hamilton were absolutely shite and barely mustered a chance and because the referee saved him from an absolute howler against Motherwell when he mate a total mess of a routine cross. (17 seconds in) - He made a complete hash of Dumbarton's opener in the betfred cup game earlier this season. (2.55 in) - He gave East Fife's player an almost open goal to shoot into when caught far too far across his goal in the betfred cup game when there was clearly only one place it was going. (3.00 in) - He palmed a routine shot against Ross County last year into his own net. (1.05 in) - He come scrambling for a long high ball in the Derby last season that he was never ever reaching which resulted in the DABs equaliser. (1.30 in) He's started 5 games for us and made 1 sub appearance and off the top of my head I've managed to think of 4 (5 included the Motherwell one) goals he has cost us.

  17. Board has got a big pair to sign him. Can't help but think the cllub would've been better off with a disgraced defender. Would Goodwillie have been convicted in the Dutch legal system? I very much doubt it, but that's hardly relevant considering we're talking about Scotland here. Still, speaking from my own cultural context, I see no real reason to keep the lad from playing pro football again; Clyde fans can be miffed that he will do so at Broadwood, but I really doubt this is going to deter sponsors or have a lasting negative impact on the club off the pitch. There's an outrage now, but most people will go back to not caring about football at this level after a week or two.

  18. Clyde have a bit of a history of signing scumbags, so why start pretending to be a moralist now? Jordan McMillan is there. Lithgow the pervert. A host of other neds as well like Strachan the wifebeater, Carrots the pisshead, Paul Slane when he lost the plot. Wullie McLaren, Declan Gallagher, Alex Williams. Tbf I wouldn't give a f**k if he kept my team up.

  24. The media have all changed their tune on Warburton, and did so very sharpish once he was punted. They all now claim to have said that they were never big fans and 'saw the warning signs', whereas in truth they masturbated furiously over him, hailed him a revolutionary, claimed he and his team would easily take second place this season, tried to make out him winning the Championship was a huge deal and voted for him as manager of the year last season.

  25. So you'll be voting remain in indyref2 no matter what the outcome of #Brexit is. As far as you're concerned there is no reason to hold fire on your vote. If EU play hardball you will be remain (you said stick with the UK) If EU offer a good exit deal you'll be happy to remain in U.K. as you'll see no need to leave for a better one? Your argument about awaiting conclusion of negotiations is therefore disingenuous. I am happy to wait for most of the detail in the settlement. There has been some good news today from Tusk in that he isn't looking for punitive measures. We shall see. Biggest issue is how the UK government are going about this so far. Using foreign nationals as pawns. Not involving devolved administrations despite saying they would. Not setting a clear path on how they'll ratify the deal. First off they weren't even going to put it before Parliament. I'm very sceptical about how they are going about this. I wouldn't be surprised if the uk negotiating team rub up their EU counterparts the wrong way and end up with the hard Brexit anyway. One thing that really irritates me is how political commentators extrapolate what deal those who voted for Brexit are looking for. It was a binary question. It had no detail of why people voted to leave. You can speculate it was about the money going to Brussels (£350m on the side of a bus), immigration, EU laws such as human rights (a favourite subject of the Daily Mail) which the UK was heavily involved in writing and will more than likely adopt so the taking back control is a bit of a misnomer, the control of fishing rights which may be used as a negotiating tool etc. The fairest way would be a second referendum to ratify whatever deal is offered, at least then there would be an informed choice about what Brexit REALLY means. This should have been set out by the Torys BEFORE their first referendum but Cameron was super confident it would be a remain and therefore didn't have the foresight to do this. This will not happen due to potential for civil unrest if the soft leavers then realise that actually remaining in EU is better than the exit deal. It was obvious immediately following the result, that there were a significant number who had voted leave in protest at what they perceived as EU representing big business globalisation due to some of the ramblings of Farage about this being about the man in the street, and that they regretted it. For a vote which was only won by 2 in 100 being swayed leave I am sure that there was a higher percentage didn't understand the full implications of leave given leave campaign only really dealt in straplines and no detail.

  33. Hadn't realised which question was contentious. No surprise that it was the distance one though. Got it wrong at the time and didn't think anything of it. Was just a guess. Can't remember what I put now. Calculating lengths of things and distances between things is frequently contentious. The most controversial question I can remember hearing at a quiz was 'In order, list the 10 countries of the world with the longest coastlines.' The first query from the floor was, 'Does that include dependencies, constituent countries and other territories?' The poor QM clearly wasn't sure and spluttered a nervous 'yes', but when the answers were revealed, Denmark wasn't in there. And of course, with the inclusion of Greenland, it should have been. Setting aside the fact that calculating the length of a coastline, any coastline, is a highly subjective business, an exercise in fractal geometry that would have tested Mandelbrot himself, it was clearly a duff question. It didn't help that the question was set to a field of top class quizzers including more than one Egghead and the (then) World Quiz Champion. And to compound everything, the round was a wipeout round, so if you got one wrong you got no points at all. So all the best teams crashed and burned and the teams who were clearly none the wiser after the 'dependent territories and constituent countries' clarification prospered. Who'd be a quiz setter? We went with the answer on the card then, even if it provoked much grumbling. The default rule is 'the question master is always right', even if he is patently wrong.

  34. After enduring a, quite frankly, lousy year in the office last year, I've today been offered a 6 month temp change of role to a department I've come very close to joining on 3 occasions since last June. (made it to the final 2 interviewees for 3 different posts). Start in May with a new reporting line. 2017 is already > 2016.

  37. A gentle reminder that this is a thread for serious debate and not mud slinging! It's been a good read thus far. Some decent points raised earlier on by no voters, which received equally good responses by yes men. I still remain unconvinced by the no camp at this stage.
