  3. What a day. I totally forgot to post this wee thought in the match thread earlier, so I'll do it now amongst kindred souls. I just want to take a wee moment to applaud the progress of Cammy Kerr. At 21 years of age, he's become one of the first names on the team sheet each and every week. After Paul McGinn left in the summer, it was a much debated topic as to whether he was ready for first-team football, or if Hartley should put his long-term trust in him at all. Many of the younger players have had the odd game here and there, most have been short-lived. I for one am glad he did decide to recruit from within. We all know that he grew up supporting Dundee and that will always make him more interesting to us than the average player, but loving the club and giving 100% every game insn't what I want to congratulate him on today; it's his professionalism that I think is outstanding. He seems to get chopped down quite a bit (fairly or unfairly I'm not too concerned about here) but simply gets up and gets on with it. Doesn't look to get revenge, get silly bookings, lash out, etc, just forgets it and maintains concentration. I think this is a big part in him getting better, consistent each week and always looking to improve. Humble, hard working and constantly getting better. I think a lot of the players in this league could learn a thing or two from his attitude. From one Dee to another, well done Cammy.

  11. It's taken me a day or so of calm (and beer...) to recover from what was an absolute embarrassment on Saturday. In 15+ years home and away, Saturday was up there with the worst. Of course there are other candidates in locations such as Montrose and Dumfries but Saturday was something else. Never have I seen a Clyde team care less. Every player looked like they couldn't wait to be home and can we blame them? A happier place where they are not shot of confidence or lambasted constantly by a power hungry, egotistical 'manager'. Yes, the players must share the blame but if I worked full-time, had a family etc etc then had to endure the mess that goes on behind the scenes at our club on top of that...I would probably try get myself sent off on purpose too...which there was a few cases of on Saturday. Yet again, we need a complete change from top to bottom at our club. What a shock. We need switched on leaders on and off the park and with the current regime, I just don't see a happy ending. As always, l'll be at Annan on Saturday. However, a defeat should spell the end for not just a manager who has had too many chances...but some on the apparent 'board' too.

  12. Stirling's last ever (official) game at Annfield on grass was against Meadowbank (also my first away game!) in May 1987. We lost 3-1 and Grant Tierney had a nasty collision with a goalpost but Thistle were promoted that day as other results were in our favour. In the first half the Thistle fans had the open terrace and there was a flurry of sleet (in May!). We swopped ends with the Binos to the covered terracing and it was sunny for the second half! Annfield was also the venue for the first ever match played by Meadowbank reserves.in the Reserve League East. It was also the scene of a very wind affected New Year's Day game where Jim McQueen saved the same penalty three times. It kept having to be retaken as the wind blew the ball off the penalty spot. Game finished 0-0 unsurprisingly enough. Autumn 2016: Annfield House in the background. I *think* that double yellow line is more or less the old halfway line of the Annfield Pitch.

  13. Problems this season turned around the time David Douglas resigned (prior to the Berwick match in November). I have got to know him well and he had, and still does have, big ideas and plans for the club and it would be exciting. Decent investment would follow. Fan engagement and a real, clear vision of where the club would be heading. But the problem is he is only at the club in the commercial side and no longer CEO due to the issue with himself and Ferguson. He would come back in a heart beat but not under the current management regime. For me, he is the ideal candidate for the vacant chair position.

  15. Apologies, tried to edit my post and deleted the whole thread by mistake! So, we'll start again... Cheers guys. Yes, It's a Cairngorm reindeer to be precise. They roam free near the ski centre. Stunning beasts and allow you to get fairly close. Only been "into" photography for a couple of years but like anything else you get better with practice and more importantly learning about good light, aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Read up on it, watch Youtube tutorials and practice :-) I'll put up a few more photos (starting with the reindeer and please feel free to chip in with your own shots.

  24. Why are fans of the other 41 senior clubs not allowed to talk about Rangers? You see it all over here, Facebook and Twitter. Their fans giving it the 'concentrate on yer ane team' shite. ***s sharing pics of some Celtic fan sat in front of a TV and the wife goes 'are you coming to bed?' to which he replies 'naw Rangers are oan the telly' Do they expect no one to talk about and take the piss out of Rangers hilariously dying?

  28. Posted on onef earlier than visiting cappielow yesterday actually made me realise that after ten years or so now I don't miss brockville anymore and am glad we are now at TFS. I have great memories at brockville but like yesterday sat in a cramped main stand with a terrible view while watch our fans stand behind uncovered goals getting soaked in driving rain and paying for the pleasure. We've moved on I have a great view at TFS loads of room and am dry. Also we now have memories at our new stadium. It's taken time but it's definitely starting to feel more like home now and am getting more attached to it.

  29. People will always find something to moan about. Watson (despite his mistake for the second goal) and Grant have been solid since they've played together recently and I see no reason for them not to continue to play together throughout the rest of the season providing they are both fit.

  30. Probably not the best example to compare Brockville to. Our main stand at Brockville was far superior in size, leg room, view and smell. My first season ticket was for the main stand as we didn't do terracing season tickets at that point, think I've still got it somewhere. I used to enjoy Morton when it was the split covered terracing as it was like for like as I used to stand similar at Brockville for years but I agree with the sentiments re Brockville on the whole but still in my mind miss it, tho body prefers the comfort in later years. I think last season has eased a bit of the heart with easily the best atmospheres in the ground to date, pre to last season I had the winner v QOS in the play offs being the best celebrated goal at the TFS on its own. I now have a few more to add to that now from last season, hopefully more to add to it this season

  31. His pish about the 'immigrants in Sweden' and how since 'they' had arrived the crime rates went up is deeply disturbing. The demonisation and racism shown towards a load of folk who are being grouped together simply because they choose to work and live somewhere other than where they were born is dreadful and sickening. The implications are hugely frightening. Please someone execute this piece of shit Trump. I would celebrate wildly upon hearing of his death.

  32. Yes, good article. Nice that he got his debut goal at Hampden and now has scored a landmark goal there almost exactly 8 years later. Well done, Greig!

  33. Hope to f**k we don't go down the Motherwell route of having stands that don't match. 3 all the same and a bigger main stand is the football way. We need to remember we are building this stadium to last 100 years not just the current season.

  34. It's more the location of the stadium than the facilities I find I miss. Don't get me wrong, I do miss the terracing and enjoy trips to Cappielow/Somerset but agree what we have at TFS is better. A good view and large playing surface just makes the whole set up feel more professional. I think with an East Stand and corner pods the stadium as per the original plans will look absolutely cracking tbh. Having a fully enclosed stadium will make the atmosphere better by keeping the noise in as well

  37. After a weekend of controversy here's what you've all been waiting for. A quiz. Not just any quiz but The Australian quiz being the substitute for The Guardian quiz. That sabbatical seems to be more than a sabbatical. Cardi you should push for the resurrection of that quiz and offer to compile some for them. Then we'll never know that it was one of yours when you score 10/10 . There is one Australian question today No. 2 about 2 past their use by date boxers. A relegation style 3/10 but knew all 3, Angkor Wat, cutlass and song lyrics. Good luck whichever division your in. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/mind-games/quiz?quizId=6233&sectionId=1

  39. A long, 10 hours on the train, but very enjoyable trip to Dresden. Massive police presence, upon arrival, escorted on to shuttle busses and straight to the DDV-Stadium. Seat in the stadium was sh!te but the stadium in general is one of the best as regards overall atmosphere & 'banter' between opposing fans! Fairly middling 1st half. H96 took the lead via a Martin Harnik goal in the 64th minute. Dresden's equalizer in the 78th minute was promptly nullified by sub Kenan Karaman 2 minutes later. Result leaves H96 3 behind Stuttgart and 3 in front of Union Berlin who moved above Braunschweig. Next up is home to Bielefeld!

  42. I really hope we start replacing 'so called experts' with just random 'everyday' guys from the pub. Minsters announced today that the man in charge of implementing the NHS's new IT network is Dave from Southend. Dave, a bricklayer and part-time alcoholic, has extensive experience of going fucking mental every time a story about government waste comes up in the Mail and stated "They're faacking mugs m8. The lot o' them". He lists his proudest achievement as putting on a Pakistani accent and asking "Does anyone smell curry round here?" until an Egyptian student who'd accidentally wandered into The King's Head left.
