  2. He has played under 5 managers and he's managed to stay relevant through all of them and has managed to get more prolific as he's gotten older as well. In the first season back in the Championship, he seemed a bit of a flat track bully only scoring against lesser teams but he then started scored some huge goals against Falkirk, Rangers, St Johnstone in that 4th place season. The man also fell through a coffee table to help us reach Hampden so nothing but respect for the man.

  3. The club were liquidated. Wound up . Dead . That is the very same as Gretna who now operate under their new title Gretna 2008. The only reason Rangers didn't use their new title The Rangers 2012 plc was purely to ensure they had a reasonable fan base to enable enough money to buy their way through the divisions.

  5. No he stated that he was a Rangers fan . They don't give a f**k about anything other than being better than Celtic. They proved that when they let their club die.

  16. This is nonsense. There clearly has never been any intention on the part of Theresa Mays government to have any kind of collaborative approach with the Scots. Not one iota of concession has been (or likely will be) granted in relation to differing Scottish aspirations. It is up to May, as the lead on Brexit, to start that concessionary process. Because they are arrogant Westminster pinheads, it is not gonna happen.

  20. From the outside looking in some of these statements from the Rovers board come across as utterly amateur. You wont attract more fans by, erm, criticising fans. Numbers will always correlate with how the team is performing and league position. An injection of professionalism is absolutely required here.

  31. You don't actually need that part, it's a subjective viewpoint anyway. Just fucking win all the time and crowds will come back. It's a scarily good correlation between league position and crowd attendance. It's interesting to note how staying in one place for a couple of seasons causes the crowd to drop off a bit during the last McGlynn through to the Murray seasons, before shooting up when hearts, rangers and Hibs came down. It's also worth noting that the denizens of Kirkcaldy did not come flocking back to see Calderon's tiki taka master classes, and McGlynn actually got slightly higher crowds for his launch it style of football for the same transition from 3rd to 2nd tier seasons. If you actually take the "Glory years" - 92-97 out of the equation our crowds are pretty consistent. As someone on Fantalk noted, there is no price elasticity in football, there is no reservoir of stay away fans who'll come flocking back if the price was just the right side of £15. Football will never be a case of value for money.

  32. In the Premiership, Frankie is leading a charge with 3 (THREE) players occupying 2nd spot behind him. Down at the bottom, it's looking bleak for me and Blackislekillie. If I get relegated, I might start up a new purgatory league to help me get back up. 34. I completely agree, if you were going to pick someone who'd still be playing at this level at the age of 35 I doubt many would have picked Lyle. He's done amazingly well. The transition from the 21 year old who first came on loan to us - quick and skillfull - to the guy we have now - a stronger target-man - is striking. For longevity, goals and the fact that he's won more than anybody else at Queens you can't really argue with his position in our hall of fame.

  41. Watching Jeremy Kyle this morning (i know but what else is a shift worker to do of a mid morning?) anyway, there was a lad on who's girlfriends Mum said he was cheating and going with men and all sorts. Then she said he had a rubber vagina that he used for his own pleasure, cue all the laughter from the mainly young female audience.I turned to my partner and pointed out that they had a bloody cheek as they've probably all got a wee box under the bed filled with an assortment of gadgets to pass the cold dark nights. "Well that's different" "how?" "just is" "so women can own all sorts of different implements to masturbate with but this poor fell can't have a rubber fanny?" "yeah" I almost had a protest w**k right there in the living room but the 26 stone woman on Jeremy Kyle was making it difficult.

  42. i started following killie about a year and a half before we got promoted i think. My dad took me and my pal all over scotland to see the Mighty blue and white, and eventually we joined a SA and bussed it, great times. My favourite goal of that period was Paul Wright scoring an absolute rocket against Hibs on a Friday night on a televised game in late 96. That team was full of my killie heroes. Experience wise the absolute scenes at Easter Road when Jimmy MacIntyre scored late to take us to the SC final in 97, followed by the "Family Final" against our friends in Falkirk; and of course beating Celtic against all odds in 2012 in the League Cup final. We were actually a proper team and proper club back in the 90s and early 00s, great crowds home and away, consistent, relative success, and then this p***k chairman/non-chairman and overall c**t comes in and runs the club into the ground. You could argue that we achieved it thanks to the runaway financials, but most clubs were the same. We took some utter tankings too tho, i remember being feart everytime the OF came to town in their fancy buses and stars like laudrup and gascoigne, later with larsson etc etc. I always remember one of Di Canio's early games, it may even have been his debut, coming on as a sub and literally dancing through our defence to score a solo worldy. Hearts felt like the other "big team" but i dont ever feel they had the beating of us regularly and we didnt fear anyone. We were actually a part of the league, we were important, and offered something to the game. Now, it just feels like we're just clinging on constantly. Rivalry wise, i always feel sorry for, and therefore have a soft spot for Falkirk, we seem to just edge you out when it comes to the crunch, that final day survival game was the worst i've felt at a game, especially when that lad poked the shot just over the bar with about 5 minutes to go, heart in mouth and shit in pants stuff. A*r can always, and forever, GTF. Won f**k all and never will. #KTID
