  1. I blame Jim White for this obsession some of our fans have with signing players. We're top of the league ffs! Talk of an injury crisis, or injury jinx is a bit dramatic. Injuries are a part of football and will impact every club. Deal with it. We're missing our reserve goalkeeper who is as likely to get any game time this season as me. Tapping who wouldn't be a guaranteed starter even if fit. Hilson is a loss, but he only got into the team when Dykes picked up his injury. Lyle is also a loss, but I don't think his injury is a serious one. If Robinson, Dowie, Millar, Jacobs and Dobbie are all injured simultaneously, I'll start panicking, until then I suggest we calm down a bit.

  11. Yes its great. Pound falls. It is good for exports for now. Longer term the weak pound pushes up the cost of important the parts we use to export and the cost of most consumables. Inflation will head up and a weak currency, not a good mix. Well done the racists.

  18. Potential to be a good or even maybe a great player, ruined by his incredible arrogance, stinking attitude and the fact that all of his 'achievements' in Scotland are meaningless. Cheats can never be great, jumped up wee nyaffs that shame themselves and their nation don't deserve so much attention.

  19. Funnily enough my Rangers supporting pal was talking about that at the weekend, how Ferguson scored, I think he said was 18 goals in the one season, which is an impressive tally but when you take into consideration Ferguson was the Rangers penalty taker, you'll probably find that at least half the goals came from the spot. Ferguson was a good player, it's daft to claim otherwise and I sometimes feel people judge his ability by their personal feelings on him but he was overrated. He was no where near world-class and it's laughable to claim he was.

  24. The first Sports Conscious strip (1982/83) was on sale at their shop in Tollcross - cheap but not great quality, at least the replicas; more like a long sleeved cotton t-shirt. Mine fell to pieces decades ago and got thrown out. The Admiral jerseys were never on sale but were occssionally loaned to the supporters' football teams. They became notorious for nipple burn if you didn't wear a t-shirt under them. City replica jerseys are available at home matches or from the Football Nation shop and website [emoji5]

  27. You have no idea what you are talking about. Doctors have never demanded a pay rise, but were faced with the threat of around a 30% pay cut. "Junior" doctor entails anyone who is not a consultant or GP, this includes many people in their late 30s and 40s with kids and mortgages. When I started out, I was working around 93 hour weeks and 12 days in a row every 3-4 weeks. Contracts have been slightly altered in Scotland in recent years following the death of an FY1 doctor driving home after night shift. I'm not sure why exhaustion is seen by some as a badge of honour, when it reduces performance at work. You seem to wish for doctors never to have a weekend off. I personally have never worked with a single doctor practicing in a hospital specialty who does not do night-time or weekend work. What you need to understand is the difference between emergency work and elective work. PCI for an ST-elevation MI will happen at any time of the day or night. But just because you can do a simple hernia operation at 3AM on a Sunday morning doesn't mean it's the right thing to, as there is plenty of evidence to suggest this approach leads to higher complication rates. "Waiting list initiative" clinics and operating lists do occur outwith Monday - Friday 9-5, if they want services like this expanded that's fine, but this requires more staffing for which no plans have been made to provide. Which is what the BMA has been saying all along. Very, very few doctors in this country are living in million pound homes and driving Ferraris - the lawyers/accountants/Old Firm footballers are. While SAAS pays tuition fees for Scottish students at Scottish Universities, many other students pay up to £9000 a year in tuition for 5 years of medical school (6 with an intercalated BSc). However, I have paid around £12,000 since qualifying in post-graduate exams and courses, for a career progression that is far from certain in the current climate of higher medical training. So I don't understand the argument for forcing qualified doctors to work for the NHS. I'm not sure what your justification is for cutting the pay of one of the best educated workforces in the country.

  29. My two and a half year old boy has one through my Irish missus. He got a wee pat on the head and a "welcome home son" at Cork airport from the Gardai boy in the summer. They'll be cruising through the EU gate in Spain a couple of years down the line whilst muggins will be treated like a racist fascist by some guy who probably had a grandad who was an actual facist.

  30. all this H word stuff is edging away from the core BRALT discussion..... (although I suppose the BRALT mutated in many bizarre ways over the years) Bottom line is .... Old Rangers cheated (fact) and died (fact) Blue Noses everywhere pretend this was not so and concoct all sort sophistry to deny the truth. The current club is now in it's 5th season. History of the old club stopped in 2012. The soonest they can achieve this 55th title will be at the end of the 2071/72 season. I spent 10 years at least spending a fair chunk of my disposable income to watch a rigged sport. (with that sport's governing authorities connivance) All their titles and cups won in the EBT seasons should be declared void. Basics really......

He will know that he's been pushing his luck so far with the pish he's served up this last couple of years and needs to keep people on board if he's to shake them down for more in the future.

  35. Strips were available from local sports shop Colin Campbell Sports (Campbell played for Thistle) It's a bit like looking for a Montrose strip outlet! Some old strips were also gifted to supporters football teams. I've got an old strip c.1989 but I wouldn't sell it- don't want the precious relics falling into the wrong hands... There used to be an old Sports Conscious strip on display in the People's Story Museum in the High Street next to Hibs and Hearts strips- don't know if they're still there. I also have a couple of old City strips but too fat/old to wear them to matches

  37. So wait - the supposedly crippling "deficit" Scotland has accrued under the union is a reason for maintaining Scotland's position in the union? Isn't that a bit like claiming throwing lit matches onto a burning house started by lit matches is better than trying to salvage what you can and build a new one?

  45. You made the choice that Scotland should remain within a system it's people are exposed to sociopathic Tory policy around 50%+ of the time because SNP bad/Scotland is too wee/poor/stupid. You are indirectly responsible for every person who suffers as a result of Tory policy in Scotland. There is absolutely no way you can weasel your way out of that.
