  1. Ken what makes me sadder? Someone will probably be praying for the relegation of his home town team shortly.

  2. It's all about opinions. Johnny U served the club with distinction in a few roles, TH has allowed us to still have a club to support at his personal expense. It's a worthy tribute.

  3. I have a habit of sleeping on my back with my hands on my chest tucked up under my chin. I basically look like a T-Rex that's fallen on its back. This usually results in a massive case of pins and needles, or my hands and arms going to sleep completely. One night I woke up and could feel that this had happened, so I stretched my arms up towards the ceiling to get the blood flowing again. My arms were so fucked that I had absolutely no sensation of what happened next. Basically one of my arms fell back towards my head and I punched myself in the mouth, bursting my lip in the process. Not realising that it was my own arm, I assumed there was someone in the room attacking me, so I jumped out of bed swinging my useless arms about like some kind of boneless jelly person. Took me fucking ages to get back to sleep.

  6. sad? seriously? It's a question, one i don't know the answer too, hence why i am asking on here. people seem to be getting excited that the deadline is getting close. As they are no longer listed then do they still have strict deadlines? yep i went to Dalziel. Born and raised in Motherwell and i support my local team. no glory hunting here.

  7. The worst thing about this situation is its just messy. Would much have rather had a clear cut appointment. Not that it makes any difference as to whether he'll be a success or failure in the long run. But the lack of a clear appointment is just handing the perennial moaners in our support a free rein to unleash the pent up miserableness they've been storing up since Murray was sacked.

  8. I love how grown adults don't think the rules of the world apply to shite football. The guys looking out for himself and his family like everyone of us would

  10. I'm not sure how many more experienced guys we need. We have Higgins, Dowie, Millar, Russell and Lyle (Fowler as well if he plans on signing a playing contract) signed up for next season, all over or around 30. I think the key to our recent successes has been getting the blend of youth and experience just right. Considering the experience we have just now, I'd be hoping Fowler is more focussed on bringing in promising youngsters as opposed to older guys. Ideally we would keep our own youngsters but the worst is to be expected I suppose. I wouldn't be fussed with one or at a push 2 more late 20's/30 year olds come in, but for me personally I'm hoping youth is what Fowler is eyeing.

  15. Sandy Cunningham plays for Stirling Albion so probably him. 20 year old striker. One of his pals tweeted last month that he hopes it works out at Thistle, so seems to be legit.

  16. I can't believe that McKinnon is being considerate about the path his life will take instead of just doing what we want straight away. Where does this mans priorities lie?

  19. Wow, what a morning. Kiss has his red rescinded. Boyce called up to the NI squad. Raffa signs a 2 year deal Darren Barr released with the others A fee with Queen of the South for Ian McShane agreed (to be finalised when he returns from holiday next week) There are easy comparisons to make with Martin Woods. He is fit, technical and wants to take all the set-pieces. He's got more of an eye for a pass than Woods probably and moves the ball quicker, but doesn't command matches. He tends to sit off the play to keep the team's shape. He does a lot of tracking back but is not particularly strong in nipping attacks in the bud - I think one of Woods's undervalued strengths is the way he nicks the ball away from the opposition and I don't think McShane has that yet. He's good at keeping the ball moving, he's very accurate with his right foot. He makes the occasional burst forward - Queen of the South attack on the flanks and with a lot of movement further ahead, so he tends to hold. In that respect, he'd be a very good fit for County's current system and would complement Jackson Irvine well if he took Woods's role... as long as he's strong enough on the defensive side. That's my biggest concern, because he doesn't time his challenges and interceptions very well. He's still very early in his career though and Jimbo clearly thinks he can be a good player at this level. The likes of Brittain, Lawson and Rocco probably weren't at the same level at the same age. This is the goal that I've referred to before when imagining Ross County moulded in the way that Jimbo's Queen of the South side were. This is from the start of the season, I think the week after Jimbo joined County: McShane did something similar last year: He's right footed but there's a nice finish with his left against Cowdenbeath: https://youtu.be/BqUqhVpejaI?t=1m35s

  21. What are you on about now, Robert? I'm very content we've got a strong snp contingent attachment at Westminster if that's what you're asking? Maybe you haven't noticed yet, or don't want to, but the Indy ref had a huge influence on Scotland and it's political climate and culture.

  29. Failing to see how McKinnon is mucking Raith about. Of course he is going to hold off and see if he's offered the job at a bigger club with presumably higher wages. Not his problem that Raith have made him their number one target.

  30. McKinnon has the advamtage of not getting his team relegated and finishing 4th in a lower league. He is a much better prospect than Naysmith.

  31. Aye but, again, not too surprised. Age and injuries. Shame about Tiffoney, he's a good player. Maybe better finding something closer to his college. Sensible if he's concentrating on a long-term career. I'd say he's got his head screwed on right, but...

  32. I'm really rather enjoying this breast-beating from the Rangers fans at the minute. It's just like when: Craig Whyte took over, then Charles Green took over, then The Easdales took over, then Mike Ashley took over I'm sure it will all work out this time; with a corporate record like this, what could go wrong?

  36. Is McGovern out of contract? He's arguably the best keeper we've ever had. Would take him back in a second. I'm not fussed about Brittain other than for sentimental reasons. If they are serious about getting a bit of stability and tying down whoever comes in on two year deals, I can live with it. I'm assuming there are lingering injury concerns too. If Gardyne and Irvine sign on permanently I'll be delighted.

  38. I can live with the departures of Saunders, Sernas, Meite, Dunfield, Palazuelos, Cardle, Reguero, and Brown. I can just about cope with the departures of Carey and Jervis. I have lost my shit over the departures of Brittain and Frempah.

  39. I wouldn't want Cardle back, no doubt he was fantastic in certain games (about 1 in 8 and usually on TV) but he was the most frustrating player to watch in every other game. I'd much rather have conroy who's more involved and chipped in with a good few goals and assists.

  41. I think we should lay off the Rangers fans a wee bit. They have had a helluva time over the past few years with their club dying, and the new club that they are pretending is the same club lurching from one Frank Spencer-like catastrophe to another.

  44. I feel more comfortable talking about this now that the election is over. After a spell on 50mg of sertraline a day I had very low mood and got incredibly restless a lot of the time between February and March. I had my dosage upped to 100mg, but it actually made things worse. Had a few really awful and very public anxiety attacks over that period. I occasionally had thoughts about jumping from my bedroom window or hanging myself. It really wasn't nice at all. I had to be retrospectively signed-off work back to January. My friends were extremely supportive. A group of them got together and stayed over on rotation for a fortnight or so before I headed up to Aberdeen for Easter. It was just before then that my doctor concluded that sertraline really wasn't working and phased me off it really quite quickly and switched me across to 20mg citalopram. On the CBT side of things, I finally got onto a group CBT thing towards the end of March at the Uni Counselling service, but it folded almost immediately due to lack of numbers. I ended up going private for a few sessions with a therapist and she was great. The combination of the change in meds, one-to-one CBT sessions and, perhaps oddly, the focus and low pressure of the election campaign, have all combined to improve my mental wellbeing significantly. I'm meeting my supervisor next week to discuss a plan gradually to return to work: something I'd have thought impossible even a month ago. There were some really dark moments in the last few months, but I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel. It's cliché but it does get better. I'm not saying I'm not going to relapse, but I'm really feeling like the person I used to be. That doesn't mean I'm not still ill, but the monster is on a leash for now. ETA: I know this probably sounds dumb, but it's the small things that can make the difference. I've started listening to music to distract me and for casual enjoyment again. Preparing and cooking a meal from scratch: there's satisfaction in that. Just going for a walk can clear the head too. A big thing for me is trying just to slow down my brain from thinking. It has such a tendency to rush ahead, refuse to switch-off, and that causes me to catastrophise and be my own worst critic.
