  1. sevco fans celebrating one of the most corrupt deceitful b4stards you could set a pair of squinty eyes on, being given the reigns of their new club. Celtic fans in tears that a corrupt shameless liar has taken over a club they claim to have no rivalry with. The pair of you are quite possibly the thickest groups of fans known to man! Don't ever change, you crazy fckin morons. Two cheeks, same arse. You couldn't make it up!

  5. It just couldn't happen anywhere else, could it? Sense, reason and indeed prescribed articles just utterly discarded in favour of the misheld belief that Scottish football needs a strong The Rangers and the financial benefits of their sectarian rivalry with their opposite cheek. How a man who has been convicted of tax fraud in South Africa and was also complicit in tax skulduggery and the liquidation of the previous incarnation of The Rangers can be considered fit and proper is beyond me (although, as Pozbaird put it elsewhere, he's 'fit and proper for those c*nts'). The ruling body is every bit as corrupt as has been previously suggested; this is nothing short of an absolute disgrace on the game in Scotland (and I wonder if Fifa won't have something to say on this). I will be interested to see if the fawning media just roll over and get their tummies tickled again or if anyone actually pursues the SFA for the true rationale involved in this bizarre ruling. Either way, I'm satisfied that this will not end well; King has too much form as a corporate scumbag for The Rangers to survive his chairmanship.

  9. I have said since more or less Day one I wanted Dave King in to take the club forward. Along the way I obviously was left a tad disappointed that he was willing to wait so long to make his move. That said I was surprised with that part of his interview...I am assuming it has something to do with his promise to the SFA that he wouldn't operate as a 'shadow director'. If he says he is going to invest regardless the SFA could see that as he was going to take control regardless. Dave King claims to be the most scrutinised person in Scottish football. It would be remiss of us not to continue that scrutiny throughout his time at the club. Rangers have lost around 10,000 regular supporters and I honestly believe if things don't work out for this board then we may never return ( yeh I know) to the top of Scottish football. Don't f**k it up Mr King!!!!!!!!

  10. Right, now I've got a wee bit of time on my hands time to get tore into quite possibly the most ridiculous post I think I've ever seen in my 4 years on P&B. Alloa, Cowden, Livi, Raith & Morton, all finished below us in the past two seasons. But I guess we just got lucky, eh? THe loanees have almost all been excellent signings, bringing quality to the team that we otherwise couldn't afford. Stuart Findlay, Danny Rogers and Chris Kane are three of the best players I've ever seen at the club, they all have big futures in the game and I'm delighted that they played a huge role for our club. I wouldn't have let Prunty go, he's one of my all time favorite players but lets face facts here. He hadn't scored a goal for us since January (and that was from the penalty spot) At his age he wanted first team football and Muzz couldn't guarantee that hence they both agreed to move on. Chris Kane managed to win us 7 points last season in just 10 games that he played due to his injury. "Nothing special"? I'm sorry but that's just complete nonsense. I agree to an extent on Nish, although only scored twice he also set up 5. That isn't an achievement to take away from him, only Aggy assisted more all season. I've know idea what the point in the comment about depending on a 'keeper we can't keep is. We could've kept Stephen Grindlay but would you rather have him (nae offence to Shay) between the sticks or Danny? Van Zanten was dependable enough until his injury which wrecked his season. Mair was garbage to be fair, you've got that spot on. But "rushing off to get a Celtic youth player"? Rushing off? I'd rush off to get Stuart Findlay even if it was just for one match! The boy is different class. Dylan Easton didn't fit in with our style of play and Darren Petrie just didn't fit in. For every Danny Rogers or Chris Kane you'll get loanees who just aren't anywhere near the standard required. Duggan was a difficult one as he was clearly still struggling with an injury suffered a while back - hence why we didn't see him after Cowdenbeath. So, in summary, the manager who in his first season saved us when we were doomed. In his second season took us to the brink of the Premiership playoffs, a Scottish Cup quarter final and had us playing some of the best football we've played in years and who, in his third season, kept us up comfortably in a league containing three of Scotland's biggest clubs and the Scottish cup finalists with only 2 other part-time sides hasn't done an absolutely stonking job?

  14. I don't think many Kilmarnock fans will wish ill on Pascali, despite his recent bitterness. If, like Jim Jefferies, he left a few years beforehand then he'd have went down in almost all supporters minds as a club legend. Unfortunately, he outstayed his welcome, become irritable with supporters and soured things a bit. There's no doubt that in his initial few seasons he had some outstanding performances, and his passion in a team that looked to lack that in spades was noticeable. The simple fact now is that we don't have the money to keep him on wages close to what he was on. He would probably go down with Monty as one of the club legends if he accepted the deal we offered and stayed as back-up, but you can't deny him the will to return to Italy now the money has gone. In ten years will he be a club legend? Probably not. Still, I wish him all the best in the future.

  15. No one is denying it, in fact Rangers fans are agreeing with you here. Your second quote..... When watching the interview yesterday it looked he tried to backtrack a bit/ back his original comments with this bit ""I wouldn't have walked away but the situation would have changed. I would have had to look at how we would do it." Right now my view is that he's been playing nicely with the SFA rather than antagonising them but if other information is available then my opinion could change. The bluster and bravado has to be put aside if we're to move forward

  20. We know he has the best interests of the club at heart. He has the backing of Rangers men with the wealth to take us back to the top. He has shown in the past he is willing to invest his own money into the club. They have the backing of the vast majority of the fans who now have what they wanted and will. need to invest in our club through season tickets. Nobody else, well very few, could bring the support together the way he has. I understand why others are hurting. They wanted us dead and buried. Those that didnt want us dead were happy to see our club raped by corrupt businessmen and out and out criminals. They were happy as long as we were no threat to their clubs on the pitch. It is understandable that they are hurting. It is not even a case of GIRUY now. I just dont care about the other clubs. My only interest is what is best for Rangers and the Rangers supporters.

  25. Not even sure why anyone would suggest getting rid of Stewart would be ok, either crazy or drunk IMO ! ... That partnership with Vaughan was probably the most exciting thing to come out of last season ... Its not just the goals, the passing & movement of the team as a whole was much better ... Just look at Stewarts goal Vs Dumbarton as an example, great midfield splitting pass by Callachan, phenomenal turn by Vaughan, perfect through ball and a toe poke finish by Stewart ... Beats a big punt up the park any day !

  33. Not surprised at this pathetic decision; but pretty disgusted by it. However, if we look at the SFA' recent decision to visit Qatar and then play an illogical friendly, it's no wonder fans like me will not support Scotland. How long can this incompetent and morally bankrupt organisation last?I'll support Celtic through and through, but Scotland? Until they rid themselves of Doncaster, Ogilvie et al not a chance Today, 6:31 PM Post #15718 [Tweet] Member Avatar First-team starter Joined: 9 October 2014 Favourite all-time player king kenny same auld rangers always cheatin same auld sfa always complying ...... join in everybody You obviously don't remember what the SFA was like in the 90s when we had eff all representation. Celtic are the only remaining 'big club' in Scotland. We need to gave a say in how things are run. The SFA won't get less 'corrupt' by us washing our hands of them I've asked Phil if he has anything up his sleeve to stop this. King was never in doubt , same way as sevco will be going up regardless of who they meet , Scottish football has been in the gutter for a long time it has now moved to the sewer the games corrupt the bigots will win It simply means that there isn't a Fit and Proper Test worthy of the title. Anything goes or our friends we interpret the rules, for our enemies we enforce them I suspect that Scott McDonald is now toast Sfa basically saying here are two rules which king contravenes and we've simply chosen to ignore this. So, who the hell WOULDN'T pass a Fit and Proper person test?

  34. One positive is that we knew 3 weeks before the end of the season rather than 3 days last time we were safe, so even if the supporters don't know who is staying and going, Archie must have a fair idea and consequently knows who he needs to target. In fact I'm sure he said in an interview "there are players out there who are available now" so given his relatively decent signing record, I'm quietly optimistic. Of course, if we sign someone like Kirk Broadfoot I'll throw my toys right out the fucking pram...

  40. I'm sure I've told this story before here, but I met someone when Betfair took some of their very biggest customers to the French Open at Roland Garros who runs a so-called "exchange shop". I went for a visit to his shop, and it was nominally a licensed betting shop with a counter taking bets. However the owner told me that most weeks he didn't even take £30 in bets over the counter. Once you walked in you noticed maybe 30-40 work stations, each with two screens. One with the raw SIS racing feed, which was accessible in the shop due to it being a betting shop, and the other a computer screen for accessing Betfair. I believe that the SIS feed is around 3-5 seconds ahead of At The Races, Channel Four or any of the other channels showing live horse racing. You can imagine what an advantage that is. The place I visited is not the only such place that exists, and was populated exclusively by young men in their 20's and 30's exploiting the few second advantage they had over people watching on TV. The fact that this "betting shop" in a fairly run down inner city area had a number of Porsches and Ferraris parked outside probably says a lot. Incidentally, people at Betfair told me that the Premium Charge was introduced as a direct result of these in-play traders making too much money while not paying enough commission relative to their winnings, on all sports and not just horse racing. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8414887.stm That brings to mind this game, which was televised live on Sky on a Saturday lunchtime. Portsmouth were 1-0 up when Javier Mascherano committed a bad challenge just before half time. He injured himself doing so and needed treatment, so the physio came on. While he was on the ground, the referee was talking to Steven Gerrard and I clearly saw the referee say "he's off". It probably wasn't an absolute certain red card looking at the foul, and the Betfair market was not suspended. Portsmouth were available at something like 2.1 at the time, which I backed, and when Mascherano stood up and was sent off this dropped to about 1.35. You've got to feel marginally sorry for the layers who didn't realise the red card was coming but Betfair markets are very cut-throat and everyone is looking to take advantage. The largest mistake I have ever made was when I was laying baseball on there. I was trying to lay both outcomes on an Over/Under 9.5 runs market. I was trying to lay £1100 @ 2.10. Except in my haste to enter the odds I didn't press down hard enough on the full stop/decimal point key and ended up momentarily laying £1100 @ 21. Before I could cancel, one of the bots people run to take advantage of such mistakes snapped up over £1000 of the amount I was laying. If you can accidentally lay an 11/10 shot at 20/1, you have to be prepared to take advantage when you get the chance. They want everything in their favour, so if you can gain an advantage then this is fair game in my opinion. Getting them to lay a decent bet in the first place is virtually impossible, and if they suspect you have faster information than them you can probably wave goodbye to your account pretty quickly. If you watch Betfair markets at the end of an event you're watching on TV, you almost always get the 1.01 backers and/or 1000 layers piling big money into the market as soon as they know an event has finished. If you're watching on TV, the final whistle or call of game, set, match usually comes a few seconds after the market hits 1.01 or 1000. People are effectively "buying money" by putting down five and six figure sums in order to make as little as £10 or £20. People make a living doing this. It can of course go horribly wrong. There was the time when a team was going for a game-tying field goal in the dying seconds of an NFL game. The officials called it no good and it looked like it had probably gone just wide. Cue the 1.01 backers / 1000 layers piling in. Except that the call was challenged and overturned, and the team that looked like it had lost went into overtime and won the game. Someone probably lost tens of thousands of pounds trying to earn £50. The same happened with an Andy Roddick match at the Rome Masters. He had match point serving for the match and apparently served an ace. The umpire called game, set and match, but while the market went to 1.01/1000 Fernando Verdasco got the umpire to check the mark. The serve was called out, Roddick went on to lose the game and the second set in the tie break. He then lost the final set leaving a decent amount matched on Verdasco to win @ 1000. Spot on. The in-running turnover is much higher on the exchanges, I think generally you have to be an idiot to use traditional bookmakers for betting in-running (there are exceptions, particularly in slow moving sports like cricket or events with lots of breaks in play). The bookmaker can just delay accepting your bet to see if things move to their advantage. If you're using Betfair and plan to bet in-running, you have to be extremely aware of any time delay if you're watching coverage on TV, online or just looking at scores. It even states this in the rules for each market. I've seen first hand how people try to gain an advantage with horse racing and I've spoken to a number of tennis courtsiders. Don't be naive and you won't get burned.

  44. I see nothing wrong with courtsiding whatsoever. If a bookmaker is offering odds, then it's their responsibility to make sure that their odds reflect the current state of play in the event. It's not as if the 'thing' hasn't happened, it has, it's just that someone was quicker to process that the 'thing' had happened. If something happens in Melbourne at 14:00:00, and bookmakers only find out about it at 14:00:03, then that's their problem.
    1 point
  45. I'm alright with people taking money from bookies in this manner. It isn't in "the spirit of gambling" to limit people who actually have the ability to win money from you, or collaborate with other bookies to see arbers banned because you haven't been able to price markets correctly and people have been able to exploit it. Bookies have been moving the goalposts on punters for years, so if they're leaving themselves open to getting fucked about, then good.
