  2. What are you havering about now? I think these spivs being brought to justice is a good thing and I hope they get their comeuppance. I'm not ignoring anything, we're discussing the fraud at the moment, although we're not sure of the exact nature of the charges, so you may be jumping the gun somewhat with precisely who has been frauded. The climate that allowed this fraud to take place was absolutely created during the Murray years and at best tacitly condoned, at worst actively encouraged, by the rangers support. This cannot and should not be ignored when discussing the omnishambles of the last three years, despite any criminality that appears to have taken place during the death throes. What I'm challenging is what appears to be a growing revisionism that RFC and it's supporters were somehow innocent victims in all of this.

  3. Indeed, under Sir Minty of the Moonbeam, OldRangers had racked up losses of £135,777k (per the accounts to 30 Jun 2010), yip, you read that right, that's cumulative losses of nearly £136m during the glory days.... (And for the avoidance of doubt, that is before the disputed tax liabilities). Sir Minty of the Moonbeam was so desperate to get out, that he ignored the due diligence findings of his own board. Craig Whyte was indeed a hero shyster, Sir Minty knew it, but couldn't give a shyt, his need to cauterize the cyst that was OldRangers and to get the hell away was just too great. Every time I think about it, it brings a smile to my face. Yours aDONis

  4. Yes I am proud of my club (and please don't bother going back to that post I made when I said I had had enough of them when they lost to Airdrie). Jock Stein's son George was in my class at school, I met the great man on numerous occasions and even trained with the players at EEP. The greatest night of my football life was when we beat Valencia 6-2. Don't try to tell me about pride in my team. We are bringing ourselves back from a difficult position and cannot spend money like water unlike others I can mention. Why do you think I have so much respect for Hearts? It's because they are doing things the correct way. Maybe they won't go up this year, though I honestly hope they do. At lest they are rebuilding their club with a view to a sustainable future as are the Pars. Rangers, on the other hand, have spunked away in excess of £70 million just because it is the Rangers way and because WATP. And of course , next year you are going to win the Premier League and then rake in millions from your odyssey in the Champions League. You lot don't live in the real world and yet you have the nerve to call us deluded (please note Benny Boy). As to why anyone should come on this forum, it is pretty evident to someone with a braincell in his head. Why did anyone watch Monty Python, The Young Ones, Blackadder or Mr Bean on TV? It is because the comedy was zany, sick some might call it, much the same way that Sevco is run.

  7. Something odd going on here, with all these Rangers fans angrily announcing that Craig Whyte was a fraudster who ran Rangers as a borderline criminal conspiracy as if it were a revelation, and demanding that there must be an aggressive investigation to discover the full extent of wrongdoing with heavy punishments handed out. Have they suddenly arrived here after a Tardis time-travel journey from 2012? I hate to sound like a hipster, but most of the rest of us were saying exactly this more than two years ago, back when the blue hordes were still picketing journalists and praying for the immediate destruction of the rest of Scottish football. What's going to happen next year? Are the Rangers fans suddenly going to start furiously demanding that we all agree that nobody has ever been fined quarter of a million pounds for not cheating? Are they going to start posting lists of defrauded creditors and demanding that everyone else feel black, burning shame? Still, I suppose it represents progress. It's a bit surprising that it's taken well over two years for the Bears to stop bombarding the BBC with teary emails and start looking at the causes of their club's demise, but Rome wasn't built in a day, eh?

  8. Most of the P's and D's (most of Scottish football) now know that they got up in a bandwagon started by a two bit blogger and will now admit it, so they'll attack, they'll lie and refuse to accept the truth. If they had an ounce of humility in them they'd hang their heads in shame.

  9. Except of course those were only interim statements and not their profits at all. If you want to see the profits, then you should use the proper source data. Here try these; http://www.isdx.com/infostore/Company-Accounts/RangersFootball/rangers2010.pdf Try page 14 for the P&L and 15 for the cumulative P&L. They were also kind enough to give a five year summary on page 35, and guess what........ Net losses of £8m. Go figure? Yours aDONis

  10. The legality of the EBTs have been confirmed long time ago. No doubt the SFO have looked at SDM during this investigation but it seems that, as of the present, he is clear. Very pleasing to see that the law is now intent in bringing serious charges against the criminals who conspired in this massive fraud, now we await the arrest of the scumbag that is Craig Whyte and indeed anyone else who has been involved in this. Hopefully Green is a very worried man just now.

  15. Why you stressing out about a company that ran your club? What ever he did, he did as the owner of the assets. They were his company's to do as it saw fit. Your club gave up that claim for the sake of continuality. Or was it still just a club, and no separate company, when Whyte was involved?

  16. The Fianna are as much part of Scottish mythology as they are Irish. The links between Scotland and Ireland go back centuries with an almost constant stream of people back and forth. It's ridiculous that to some people the age old relationship between the two places is seen almost entirely through the context of a century long rivalry between two football clubs based in Glasgow. Unfortunately it seems that plenty of people in our OF obsessed sports media suffered from that. Ludicrous to see them asking Strachan was he worried about playing at Celtic Park. Anyway, far more important that all that shite was the win. I'm still watching that goal over and over again. With the Waspies then getting a draw at Ibrox on Saturday this was a quite magnificent sporting weekend. Bring on England

  20. Sorry to disappoint you but I do write this stuff myself. I don't need to invent a life for myself. What I write about myself really did happen. Sick at the thought that I regularly visited Jock Stein and his family at Thimblehall Drive in Dunfermline when he led us to our first and greatest triumph in Scottish football? I don't need to post clichés. I was there and am proud that my wee team still exists, unlike your Rolls Royce that burst into flames a couple of years ago and had to be scrapped. You don't have any lessons to give to any football supporters; your club died and you support an ersatz which is now in casualty and dependent on monthly handouts from a spiv who is only keeping you alive so he can milk you for millions. Rescinded the naming rights contract? I bet the board even gave him his quid back.

  26. The £4million rough estimate is more than I could get from Gilbert when I asked him Wilf. He flat out refused to answer my question and stated quite clearly that he wouldn't be telling me any figures when pressed on the issue. Even rough ones. Moonster asked for a ball park figure as well. Answers were there none. As a purely paper exercise, theres little to object to in the public consultation. I have my own concerns regarding access to the ground via Renton Road and a potential traffic black spot getting back onto the A82 at Renton. I also find it more than a bit worrying when the public consultation calls for a single 1500 capacity stand for phase 1 when both Gilbert and the Rod the planning bloke were eager to tell me that they'd actually be building 2 stands for a 2000 capacity. But in general terms the notion of moving to the new site is relatively sound, with a massive caveat: It has to be in the best financial interests of the club and it has to be done in a way that protects the fans. Promises of a fully booked function suite for 52 weddings a year are brilliant. They don't pay any bills, but they're brilliant on paper. Same goes for the £130k income we'll get from 3 community pitches. If the market exists. If it doesnt then what looks great on paper suddenly starts to look questionable in practice. How much can the market afford to pay? How many brides are willing to have their wedding reception disrupted by 1500+ football fans on a Saturday afternoon? How many teams in west Dunbartonshire are going to give up their current training arrangements to flock to the Youngs Farm site? And what will the council do when local teams suddenly stop hiring local 3g pitches from them? Then theres the actual funding. The proposal is to sell the BB and to have contingency for 6 plots that can be developed to provide Dumbarton FC with finances to help pay for the development of the new ground should our existing site fall short in raising funds. Why can't we develop these 6 plots anyway and provide the club with additional money? How much will it cost to build the community facilities? Whats the time scale for them to start generating money for the club? How do Brabco fund development of the site before we purchase it from them? Will Dumbarton be expected to borrow at commercial rates in order to fund the move to the Youngs Farm site and then sell the BB? Theres a massive difference between what looks good on paper and what works in practice. On paper the proposals should be generally backed. In practice? What safeguards are in place that will ensure that we walk away if the deal isnt in the club's best interests? With Brabco owning a massive majority and therefore a controlling interest in the boardroom, fans can surely be forgiven for thinking that this is less a public consultation and more a fate accompli.

Ned Jnr is half Italian and likes to see Italy doing well (we're watching the Croatia game right now FWIW, or were cause it's been stopped for crowd trouble) but does he support Italy over Scotland ? does he f'ck ! And does he claim to be Italian rather than Scottish ? course he fucking doesn't !! I'm half English and spent a third of my life down there - will I be supporting England on Tuesday night - course I fucking won't ... I was born and bred in Scotland FFS !! Half this board could probably claim "Irish Heritage" (I could) but let's face it the only ones pretending to be Irish are the ones that were dragged up by an Old Firm supporting parent. If it's any consolation to the Plastics reading this I'd state that the knuckle-draggers that support Northern Ireland or England ahead of Scotland rate higher in the moron stakes !!

  45. In 1942, teenage tearaway Desmond Tutu and his best friend Cedrick Kalombo stole a chocolate easter egg from a shop. On leaving the shop Kalombo was immediately struck and killed by lightning. Interpreting the lightning strike as a message from God, Tutu gave up his petty pilfering and joined the church. He was ordained as a priest in 1960. At said ordination Tutu said "I came to the church to seek forgiveness for knocking an chocolate egg out a shop. And I came to the church to offer my forgiveness to our Almighty Lord who took my best friend with a burst of electricity that blew his eyeballs from his own face. To the those of you who are gathered here today, my message to you is this. Without forgiveness there is no hope. And I definitely paid for this Curly Wurly that's sticking out my inside pocket."

  46. Lethal Weapon 6. The special effects are a bit iffy in places, but that's understandable due to the small budget. The film linked in well with Lethal Weapon 5, and the script allows the audience to know exactly what's happening. I also enjoyed that the film showed the characters making up for their failings at the start of the film as well. 10/10 a modern day classic.
