  2. Hasn't it been confirmed that no players have been named so this whole 'the players are against it' line can probably be put to bed. The union represents players, when they see players rights being trampled over by an unscrupulous employer they will step in on behalf of all their members, even if it is just to draw a line in the sand should any other employers of their members be inclined to adopt similar unscrupulous practices in the future.

  3. I am just stating facts there is nothing pedantic about it, the whole ethos of a Union is strength in numbers that's why, more often than not, a Union will take a class action on behalf of all their members affected by a particular problem. It's, more or less, standard practice and surely it's what you sign up for when you join a union. If you dont like it leave, join Unison, or someone else, dont complain when your Union is doing it's best for you and the other members. Regardless of some players opinions, it isn't their decision. They handed that decision to their Union when they signed up.

  4. posted this on .net, but it obviously has relevance here too, in fairness I feel utterly dejected after last night. I was at the meeting last night and voted no to the funds being given to the club. I can understand why some people voted yes however I stuck by my stance before this process started on what I wanted funds to be raised for. Taking aside other facts that I am aware of / banded around town lets looks at how the situation as it sits just now without them Last night at the meeting it was ascertained right at the start that the steering group was given some financial information on Thursday and was given permission to publish some details at the meeting last night (they were asked not to publish the info prior to the meeting). To make things clear, everyone on the steering group was invited to the meeting with the club except the only member who is not affiliated to an official fan group (and probably the guy I would trust most out of the group, not offence to the others). The statement was read I am sure the details have been posted previously on this forum somewhere already. From the outset I have said that any money given should lead to full transparency of the clubs finances (drip feed information and half truths are fundamentally useless if you do not know the full picture) and I actually raised this at the first fans meeting as our fundamental first goal. During the debate that lasted an hour and a half, questions on what we owe were asked (initially looking for details then a ball park figure of the total owed) which would not be provided by the club. The question on HMRC "how much do we owe in total"? was asked and "the next payment date"?, this could not be provided as the club wouldn't answer the question. They were also asked what the total Scottish power bill was and had DAFC in some way already paid money towards this, again this wasn't answered by the club apparently. To put this in perspective last night a member of the steering group said "If we ask woolly questions we get woolly answers". Sounds like specifics are being asked and are either not being provided or the steering group have been told to keep quiet, either way not much help when deciding on the vote Lets take a step back here 6 + weeks ago the first meeting was arranged shotgun style in legends, not many people were aware on what scale we were in trouble or what the outstanding debts were. During that meeting there was a consensus that this shouldn't happen again, no more surprises, no leaving the situation to rot until a shotgun meeting is called. Last night again people were called in and told we need an electricity arrears paid (which has obviously been building up for some considerable amount of time.) Think about this logically guys, the only debts the fans have been informed of are 1 – The HMRC payment which was already in arrears (and certainly not the first time a payment has been missed) and two weeks from the **** hitting that fan and would become public knowledge anyway ,2- Players and staff wages not being paid which would always come out into the press, 3- The third debt for electricity built up over X amount of weeks/months, when the situation has gotten to a stage of the brink of cutting off the power again when the lights go out it would be in the press in a matter of a few days. What's the next bill that will be run up not paid and a shotgun meeting called to ask for the already out of pocket small diehard support we have to fund? Or more importantly what other debts do we have? We have given up our only bargaining chip to essentially getting no more financial information to the wider audience of fans, we now have no money and back at square one except now the fans are divided and the club still doesn't feel the need to divulge anything it doesn't want to until it needs a quick bit of cash for the next crisis it lurchs onto. Edit- Out of interest could comeone from the steering group confirm if we have any outstanding debtors to the clubs (out of curiosity)? I actually spoke to a fan last night who seemed convinced that if we go into administratrion all would be fine, well if theres no money to pay administrator fee's then liquidation is the route it would follow

  6. It doesn't matter whether you tell them to ram it or not, it's about defending workers rights. Whether they're in the Union or not. Nice to see Chuck on SSN tonight advocating throttlling the PFA officials. Would be laughable, until you remember his clubs supporters have previous following similar statements.

  9. Would love to hear it if he did. This guy fascinates me, it would be great to put a voice to the written verse. I equate him to the great poets, Keats, Byron, guys like that.... only sitting in his cold dark flat in a pair of pish stained skid marked Y's, supping on a litre bottle of High Commisioner.

  12. its a valid opinion IF you have bought into chuckie cheese and his continuation theory, which you clearly have. These players felt the club died. They therefore felt no loyalty to the new club. You cant condemn them for holding a different opinion

  14. you'd be surprised at the number of bigots in Outer Mongolia right enough and just so the thinking impaired can follow the logic: A desire to play for the tribute act = a tacit (at the very least) support for the links to the sectarian signing policy and the sectarianism displayed by fans = bigot. hth

  16. As an outsider looking in, it appears to me it was set up with honest intentions on facebook and has been hijacked by others who think they know best. I thought they were only going to give to the club in certain situations when things had been done. What a farcical situation. Especially for the majority of decent, level-headed fans on here.

  19. And this is the crux of it. Why on earth would they, when any money required for a transfer could be better employed as an improved signing-on fee or higher wages? Remember, we are talking about PROFESSIONAL footballers - they do it for money, same as the rest of us do our jobs. Serious question - do you believe McCullough TUPE'd over because of his love for the club, or because he knew there was no way an Everton/Southampton/Norwich would ever be looking at a skill-free thug in his mid-thirties?

  25. I had a shitty time of it a few years ago, including an extended period off work, and a week in hospital immediately after my wife died. She was not the trigger, I was probably heading that way anyway, but the day she died the doc had me straight in (as a voluntary, so I couls leave if i wanted). After the week I genuinely did feel better, great help from NHS Highland, and I had a wonderful councillor (is that the right word) who I saw weekly, then fortnightly, then monthly, then "only if you need me". It really, really did help me getting someone professional to talk to whilst going through the bad times, no judgement, no time-frame to "get better" and I was fortunate that apart from a mild sleeping tablet for a few weeks I didn't need medication. I am also now very lucky that I know the signs to look for in my own behaviour should I be on the way to a "relapse" and I should be able to get myself help before it gets to rock bottom like before. I'm aware that I will probably have this for the rest of my life, but it's not something I really think about these days, I just felt maybe putting my experiences on here might help someone else. My symptoms to look for? (should anyone want to be on the lookout for similar warning signs) Sleeplessness (not full-on insomnia); Lack of interest in TV/Reading/Internet/Sport; can't be bothered cooking so eating shite (and not really bothering much with that either tbh); slow but steady increase in alcohol intake 9not these days obviously); feeloing permanently tired; just wanting to "hide away" from the world; not really giving a shit about my appearance (again not to the extent of becoming a total tramp, but maybe I just never got that far) in terms of wearing any old clothes, not shaving etc. Loke I say I was lucky to have a great NHS Doc and Psychiatrist at the time and I owe them a hell of a lot. ETA: I never had, or have, suicidal thoughts, I guess one of the reasons I was "voluntary" admission to Newcraigs, i can't begin to imagine just how terrible that must feel. I am, however, more familiar with it than I'd like having lost my wife that way.

  28. Sophie definitely isn't appearing in this series. Sadly, neither are Nancy or Big Suze. Apparently that's also the last of Johnson for this series, but Super Hans is in every episode. "What's 'funf' in German?" "Five" "Well, they were 'funf', 'zwei' years ago. So I reckon that makes them a couple of eighters." "If Orange have deleted the twins I'll kick off!"

  29. I think Rodgers was adamant he would get either Dempsey or Sigurdsson in the summer to fill the creative void in midfield. As it happens he lost both to Spurs and had no real backup plan so has tried to shoehorn Sahin into a position he isn't comfortable with. It's a shame Aquliani never adapted to English football as he would have been useful in this role. He needs to sign a "number 10" in January rather than an out and out goalscorer. Either that or a winger who can score goals

  30. Look, pal. We were hit with a world record -25 points deduction. The fact we overcame it is irrelevant. That was the (excessive) punishment for our crime and we got on with it. End of story. Can see you being upset about us turning a disaster into a triumph but that's football. As for signing your players, that's the way it goes too. If they're any good, they'll move up another level. We all have our natural place in the pecking order. You're about right, and we should be in the SPL, top half.
