  1. He looks like his own grandfather? I remember working with him one summer at British Bakeries - was always getting stuff chucked at him to catch
  2. Dear Smokies, Is been a blast having you in the championship. From one coast to another, truly one of my favourite away days. Your 2nd last game comes now with a heavy heart. But it is not over. Your Ayrshire coastal cousins are right behind you. Cheering you on from the urban sprawl of Maryhill this Saturday. You can do this. Do it not for us, but for the spirit of the salty air that fills our lungs every other Saturday. We will meet again (praying not next season so get your finger out and get a win FFS!) Yours forever Ayr United
  3. Flip heads or tales with it at the turnstile and if you win, you get in for free
  4. Anyone bought a north stand season ticket? Do you think you will have the option to visit the ragamuffins on the terracing on occasion?
  5. Club looking for a bump in pre-season income / new hospitality due to be up and running for start of the season - could this be a war chest being gathered together? #UpWithBroonie
  6. Regardless of who gets played or who gets rested, I hope it’s a decent game, in the sunshine, with a nice big crowd and what will be will be. As far as other results are concerned, I hope and pray that they pan out with us not needing a win on the last day
  7. Surely you need to rest up some players for the playoffs? Last year you had momentum and then some and then fucked it at the last leg. I would be saying the same were it not us you were playing
  8. It really is nothing personal, but to have Callum and Boab as the voices of Ayr United? Ooooooooft!
  9. There aren’t many teams that buck the trend of money=success. The more that can be generated on and outwith match day is the key to us progressing. So the way I see Smith’s tenure so far, is laying foundations for future success. Of course, I’d love to see it next season, or the season after - who wouldn’t? but we’ve had owners throw money at it before and it didn’t work, and set us back afterwards. No doubt we will have bumps on the road - let’s face it, it has been a tough watch since McCall left. Nobody loves transitional periods, they can be tough to endure, but I’m sure it will be worth it in the end - hopefully for all of us and future generations to enjoy. Staying up this season would be a massive win for me and I would say we would need to have been really unlucky if we need to endure anything like the same next season.
  10. We hardly played him at times. Glad for him he has gone on and done well.
  11. I’m guessing it will go down to the last game of the season - mathematically anyway. I can’t remember the last time we had a meaningless end of season game - wouldn’t mind one!
