  1. Muirhead ran himself in to the ground for 60-70 minutes and would have been taken off along with a couple of others who had done the same if we had the choice. Imrie has mentioned that a few are playing through injuries and he doesn't look fully fit to me. Even the way he is striking his free kicks the last few games are so much weaker than some of the 40 yard thunderblasts we've seen over the years. He's the easy target because he's not a high pressing machine but every single game he is running like crazy for the team this season, so much so that he's probably tired when he actually gets the ball. There are multiple points during the goal that it can be stopped so I'm not having any talk of Muirhead costing us it. I thought he did an admirable job in the Oakley role when it's so far from his natural game.
  2. Thought Power was incredible tonight. The one outfield player who looked like he truly belonged playing against the top teams in scotland. What a transformation from him from the beginning of the season. We need to enjoy Ryan Mullen while we have him. If he hadn't had trouble with his thigh repeatedly through his young career then he'd be nowhere near Clyde and Morton. He's infinitely better than the two haddies Clark and Kelly that are in the Scotland squad. Not often you see a keeper at our level with no weakness to his game. This was him playing through yet another thigh injury as well. Majestic. All in all a really proud night under the lights at the old place and an excellent cup run. We will never know how we'd have got on if Oakley was fit but I can't help but feel that he'd have ragdolled that defence and got us up the pitch more than we managed to.
  3. Referee was a joke but he wasn't the reason we lost that game. His performance was so bad that I found myself shouting at him for decisions he was getting wrong that actually favoured us. We looked a long way off it with key injuries to the spine of our team so Oakley and Mullen back as soon as possible considering Wilson is now out for the season. Today showed why we need a back up to Oakley as well as the goal threat wasn't there at all today. Fair play to Inverness. Fighting for their lives and they played every trick in the book to see out the game which is exactly what we would have done.
  4. Probably because we have to watch just about every other team in the league play eye-bleedingly bad football and they have the nerve to act like we are playing a different sport from them. Raith lumped balls to Hamilton for the majority of the game yet I'm sure Murray will make his usual wee snidey comment about us in his post match interview. Our reputation has definitely helped create the siege mentality amongst the manager and squad that has allowed us to go on our 16 game unbeaten run so I'm not complaining at all.
  5. Connelly was very lucky to not see a second yellow for grabbing the ball on the ground when it was our foul but that would have been too much excitement.
  6. Bit of a nothing came although wasn't really bored at any point. Good point to take home with us and unbeaten run helps. Shame results haven't gone in our favour but we can only worry about ourselves. Thought we defended excellently yet again. We are just so well organised as a unit these days.
  7. We are missing Oakleys presence up top. We look a danger when we get long throws and a big part of our game is not giving defences a minutes peace as they're constantly defending their box but we seemed to use up our quota of first half long throws and corners in the opening 10 minutes. We've picked up a few stupid bookings that hopefully don't cost us and an injury to a key midfielder. I'd happily leave starks with a point if you offered me it just now. Ref had a decent game so far imo. He's booked people when neccesary but not enough to let the game descend in to madness so far.
  8. Would be surprised if Quitongo started again even if Muirhead and Oakley are out. Given his injury issues this season and how many times he's came back and been immediately out again I can't see him starting two games in three days. I'm hopefully that Oakley at least will be fine as even though he went off injured he went and sat on the bench right away rather than going inside for treatment.
  9. Unbeaten in 15 with good amount of cleansheets in that run vs a team that never win by more than one goal. I've watched football too long not to have trepidation about this game. The footballing gods will have a comfortable raith win on their agenda but I have faith that they're no match for Dougie Imrie.
  10. Obviously would like to see it back again but from where I was at the front of the Cowshed the Taylor Sinclair challenge in first half was a yellow for me. If someone wants to argue that due to things like excessive force, recklessness or endangering an opponent makes it warrant a red card then I won't really argue however for me it was just a bad challenge between a taller centreback and a midget midfielder going for a header and Taylor Sinclair was late and came right through Crawford.
  11. Aye not perfect camera angle but garrity looks onside. Some finish as well!
  12. I've no issue with how airdrie played against us. Teams know when they come to cappielow now that they need to stand up to the physical battle first before they do anything and airdrie tried to do that despite being more known for their on the ball ability. Did they go too far a couple of times? Sure but we are no shrinking violets either. It was one of those games where the referee turns the game in to something it's not with baffling decisions all round that gets both sets of players and fans frustrated and angry and it threatens to bubble over. If the referee had managed that game better then half the tackles that went in from both teams wouldn't have happened.
  13. Hard fought win and crucial three points. Could have been out of sight and airdrie didn't really look like scoring until they got one back. Shame to lose what would have added to our excellent clean sheet record but we held on valiantly. Referee and Cowshed linesman were a joke all day. If our 2nd was as offside as it looked then it was a shocking decision from the linesman who was still running back in to position as garrity was shooting. He also stood and watched waters take a couple of digs on the ground from the right back. Referee was baffling too. Let mullen poleaxe the airdrie striker and also put his hand in his pocket late on to book Taylor sinclair then shat it when he realised he was already booked. Massive three points anyway and the table is looking good right now.
  14. Good tie for both teams. We realistically wanted to get a home tie and avoid the old firm so even though it will be a tough game we can go in with a decent amount of hope. For all the clichés of no one will want to play Morton at cappielow, we are clearly the most favourite tie left In the draw so hearts fans will be overjoyed given their potential cup draws to a semi final that they've had. Our record against teams that play football on the deck has been good the last two seasons so I'd fancy our chances against hearts compared to someone like airdrie who tried to play them at their own game but were up against better players. We will make it an absolute battle that hearts will need to win first before anything and if they're not up to it it could be a very rough night for them. A Friday night game again would be my preference. Cappielow under the lights is magical.
  15. Aye was just two sets of fans enjoying themselves for the most part (Motherwell fans not as much because of the football) but I think that helped add to the ebjoyability of it for me. Just a great advert for Scottish football.
