  1. You're lucky you got 800 to pay stand in the pi$$ing rain in an uncovered stand on a Friday night when it's free on the telly.
  2. Have a look at the behind the goal footage, zero blame on Dubrowski IMHO for all 3 goals, for the 3rd, he's covered as much of his right as he can without leaving his left wide open to McGregor who's right sided and most would've expected to cut inside, also the pace of the shot and the fact it was right in the corner would have beaten any but a lucky keeper.
  3. Got to say labelling Raith as "bottle merchants" is a joke on 2 levels. 1) Airdrie simply played better 1st half and scored 2 goals of superb quality, to say our win was due to lack of bottle is an insult to our performance and tactics. 2) 2nd half as I said previously we sat deeper and Raith capitalised, albeit temporarily, no lack of bottle there. Finally saw Lewis' goal and it was the pick of a night of stunning goals, as the young people say "all killer and no filler". Finally on Recce's playing future, last season we were on a poor spell, Reece was injured and Sinky took over, we hit a real purple patch, so much so when he was fit, Reece left Sinky in and himself on the bench, only coming back when Sinky went on international duty. What I'm trying to say is, he's showed the humility to step back if he thinks he has a better option, my personal opinion is, he steps up to a higher level, he'll make only rare, emergency appearances, Murray Aitken till he was injured was his replacement IMHO.
  4. Watched the stream till literally 10 seconds before Lewis scored as I was heading out for N/S. Frizz's 2 goals came from the defence backing off, fear of what big Nico would do or underestimating Frizz, it's hard to say but one person who can't be blamed is the keeper. 2nd half I don't think Rovers resurgence was down to Murray's tactical 3 subs, I think it was down to us pulling our midfield from their high line that caused all the problems 1st half, we did the same in the last game with Ayr and got punished, could've been the same tonight. Haven't see Lewis' goal yet but the other 3 were belters. Friday is massive for us as well as Saturday, Utd win and we beat Dunfermline then GD makes the playoffs almost certain. Hopefully plenty to celebrate in hospitality on Saturday.
  5. 3 x Morton bookings vs 2 x Airdrie in that game! I rest my case M'lud.
  6. Telling that Morton are the dirtiest team in the SPFL by far on 96 yellows, they have the top 3 individual players in the Championship, Power 10, Broadfoot and Muirhead on 9, add in French and Crawford on 8.
  7. As the Ref had to step In, this should be in his report! Then again going by his on field performance he probably got a gonna no dae that.
  8. Superb point blank save by Hemfrey at 2 - 0 1st half, he deserves a mention today. Ref totally lost control of the game, couple of industrial tackles on Todorov before Broadfoot was finally booked, French getting a yellow for throwing O'Connor to the ground in front of the Ref when play had stopped summed his performance up as did Quitongo only getting a yellow for straddling I think it was Hancock on the ground in the stramash, being fair I'm certain Watson threw a right hander in there and he should've walked. Anyway, good performance all round, Frizz and Charlie for me our stand outs. 7pts from 12 vs Morton plus the Cup win, happy with that, as for Imrie, he obviously leads by example, that's Morton now on 95 bookings and certain to breach treble figures very soon.
  9. And there's why it was chopped off, clear barge on the keeper.
  10. Screenshot from Airdrie Twitter feed only showing both goals, this is the Dunfermline goal that stood, foot clearly over the line.
  11. Thought for certain how close it was to half time and the fact we were defending a corner that Jamieson was injured. Euan Deveney today had a howler of a game at left back, doubt he won a single tackle the 1st half, we are seriously too light in our squad. Superb goal by Frizz, one of those hits that can end up in row Z. Our match report shows Dunfermline's goal was an OG by Dycey who got in front of the keeper. The one ruled out was put down to Johnson getting a dig in the ribs as he came for the ball. Was the yellow card straight after for dissent or the foul? Agreed the Ref was rotten, was like watching netball at times, he blew for even the slightest contact. Finally where the hell did the additional time come from? It was like watching "next goal is the winner".
  12. On the Rico story, in the Sun today it states "Quitongo said the shouts came from a section of Excelsior Stadium where his family normally sit but "thankfully they weren't there on that occasion". Sun story below. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/8641343/airdrie-rico-quitongo-race-discrimination-claim-club-director/ The Club requested on 15th September, witnesses to the alledged incident at Firhill vs Queens Park, this is the location stated in the BBC story, statement from the Club website in full below. https://www.airdriefc.com/2122-news/210915/club-statement So Rico , the Sun story or both are incorrect regards where and when! The Club then made a statement on 12th October making the following point "On the basis that we have no more than one witness, to one alleged unidentifiable and indistinguishable perpetrator, we have now exhausted all possible options. We will continue as a club, alongside the whole of Scottish Football, to have a zero tolerance approach towards racism." Statement in full from the Club website below. https://www.airdriefc.com/2122-news/211012/club-statement---racism-allegation Neither of the Clubs statements were quoted by The Sun, they say they contacted the Club for comment yet the statements are there to be read and quoted, lazy journalism? The BBC story below is far more balanced and quotes the Club as I have. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-60926681
  13. Sadly I believe they can't be touched on that as an appeal is deemed successful until it's voted on according to the SFL rules, so essentially they were a 1st Div team until the appeal was held and didn't need to play the Shire.
  14. To believe that the current administration has been taken in isolation I believe is naive, in most organisations and in criminal law a 1st offence is normally treated to the minimum sanction, repeating the same offence will see that sanction increase. After reading the threads from yesterday, especially the blinkered, foul mouthed diatribes from "Larry the Lion" who alienated any sympathetic fans, it's good to see someone look at it from a level headed stand point. It's fair to say other factors may have been taken into consideration at yesterdays meeting, the treatment given to the Albion Rovers manager and staff by Livi players and fans which influenced their and other Chairmen, the back lash on here and other Club based forums to last weeks percieved leniency which Chairmen do take heed of, A consortium claiming to have the club at heart but who freely admitted they would pull out if relegated and probably most damaging of all the admission on the day of the meeting that the players wages had not been paid. Some will say as an Airdrie Utd fan it's easy to say this but having seen Airdrieonians go to the wall, it tempers the joy of returning to Div 1 somewhat, but blaming Massone for what happened to Livi is like blaming Alan Shearer for Newcastle Utd's relegation, the damage was already done. Livi can survive and come back but unless the rent at Almondvale is drasticly reduced it will be the millstone round Livi's neck that will become a tombstone.
  15. I think you'll find they mean there will be no HOME game on Saturday, Livi's 1st game in Div 1 was Ross Co away, Airdrie's Arbroath at home, so appeal or not there is no game at Broomfield on Saturday.
