Craig 'Toorie' Winter
15 October 2011 - 19:31
Congratulations to Toorie on making his 400th appearance for the club today - his second spell with the club he first joined over 17 years ago. Such loyalty and commitment is rarely seen in football nowadays. No-one has made more outfield appearances for the club and only Raymie Allan with 491 has played in more games for us. It was also great to see Toorie playing so well today in his old midfield berth.
'After the 2-0 win over Stirling Albion, there was a ceremony in the Cowdenbeath Boardroom to honour Craig Winter's wonderful achievement of playing 400 matches for Cowdenbeath FC. Club Chairman Donald Findlay presided and paid a warm tribute to Toorie's character and commitment. Donald praised the fantastic contribution Craig has made to Cowdenbeath FC over so many years with a degree of club loyalty rarely seen in football nowadays. Director David Allan then made a presentation to Toorie on behalf of everyone at Central Park - a beautiful, suitably engraved decanter with matching glasses. David and John Anderson also represented the Cowdenbeath FC Supporters Club at the ceremony and handed over a gift of £400 from the Supporters Club on behalf of all Cowdenbeath fans as a token of thanks and gratitude for the dedication Craig has shown to the club and its followers. Craig's mum Pauline and his young son Calan were also in attendance'. -
Colin Cameron
13 October 2011 - 16:45
A reminder that the Cowdenbeath FC Supporters Club is holding a 'Meet the Manager' event with Colin Cameron on Friday 14th October in the Alex Menzies Lounge, Central Park at 7.00pm.
All fans of the club are welcome. Come along and hear what Colin has to say about the season so far and his hopes for the team. -
Division 2 for Entertainment
11 September 2011 - 18:41
Last season the 2nd Division had the highest goals per game ratio of all 4 Scottish Divisions. This season so far the average goals per game is 4.08 (SPL 2.26, Div 1 2.68, Div 3 3.2). That reflects the attacking approach of many of the sides such as Cpwden, EF and Arbroath. It looks like being a pretty entertaining season therefore for Div 2 fans. -
Cowdenbeath FC - The Way Forward
16 August 2011 - 18:47
There will be a Public Meeting in Partners Bar (upstairs lounge) on Thursday 1 September at 19.00 to discuss the future of the club.
Donald Findlay will address the meeting and his fellow Directors will also be in attendance. We would encourage every fan, local businesses, anyone with an interest in the club and the local community to come along and be involved. e.g. If you are coming bring someone else along with you.
