  1. Hoping to get recommendations / advice as I’m out of my depth knowledge wise. I want to set up a wifi network across quite a big property, part of which is a small guest house. Main requirement is so people don’t have to select different access points with different network names/passwords. There are currently three. I want it to be seamless and whatever devices they are using just connect automatically without them knowing it as they move about. Other requirements: 1. A friend said to make sure IP6 so the data can be fast and the signal is more powerful, we are about to move from 60MB ADSL to 300MB fibre. Assuming this is good advice? 2. I’d like to be able to add a log in page where people can enter their email address (or sign in with facebook). Not sure if this has to be part of the kit I buy (or the kit at least supports it) or separate software/app? 3. The building right now is served by two ADSL lines, one at either end. Plan would be to keep the 2 even if on fibre as a bit of a fallback in case one went out. One is BT, the other Sky. Can I plug both into the wifi network? 4. Ideally I’d like there to be 2 networks to chose from; one for guests and one for us/family. And if one could go through a VPN. Any ideas? Anything I’ve missed that I should be thinking of? Any recommendations for particular kit? Looking to spend up to £300 max for kit with 3 access points. Any help much appreciated.
  2. Out with her driving her car yesterday. Windscreen is filthy to the point of being dangerous. "Why don't you clean your windscreen" "You know how busy I've been" my darling snaps back. "I just mean use the washer fluid, you don't have to get out and clean it" "Look, I know that, but I'm worried there won't be enough water left in the engine". We could have cleaned it with the tears that rolled down my cheeks for about the next hour, much to her annoyance.
  3. Standing in the queue at post office yesterday a bursd obviously not familiar with the phonetic alphabet was attempting to convey the spelling of her own surname with increasing frustration as she struggled to come up with terms for each letter. The coup de gras however was when she said "E as in er, as in....eye". Cue 3 blokes including the guy serving bursting out laughing uncontrollaby. Her own surname FFS!
  4. Not exactly marquis of queensberry rules, waking you up at that hour.
  5. Opportunity missed. If you tell a feminist that you are also in tune with your feminine side as you are really a lesbian trapped in a mans body, that usually wins them over.
  6. That was an incredibly bad interview from her perspective. Quality of politicians (party politics aside; more on professional capability) generally in Scotland is poor; but the Labour party unfortunately are the worst of the lot. You reap what you sow by treating the professional and intellectual development of a party in Scotland for decades.
  7. In actual football related news, Hearts have signed Victor Noring a Swedish internationalist, to compete with Jack Hamilton for the No 1 jersey. Rumours that Robbie Neilson is trolling the haters by having Jack or Victor in goal are unfounded.
