  1. Why should it be a 100pc nailed on victory? Still surprised at how many binos are under estimating your own very poor form. Edinburgh are at home, have picked up 3x as many points as you have in last 3 games (okay it's only one win!). Stirling really struggling to score and pick up wins. 5/1 for an Edinburgh win is looking like a decent bet. Seen both teams recently and thought Edinburgh looked better, especially in the forward areas. They've been competitive in recent games. I'm still really hoping you guys avoid 9th and we beat annan.
  2. That's really surprising, I hadn't even looked at dimensions thinking they were way different, but happy to stand corrected. I think it must be because every time I go to Alloa I'm sitting pretty much at ground level and at TFS sitting high up so like an optical illusion, our pitch looks really wide and Alloa's much tighter.
  3. I'm more worried about the Annan game. I think Alloa are a better side but with them potentially resting players and trying to avoid injuries, us at home, on a big pitch with a massive crowd I'm less concerned about that game if we can get through Annan unscathed. Having said all of that I was at the last game at Brockville when we were unbeaten at home all season and we all remember how that went! Re this game they have it all to play for, are at home, on really good form, seem to score goals, we have a bit of a makeshift centre pairing. I'm just hoping we get an early goal to settle the nerves, our attacking players give them a torrid time, and it's a professional job done, as it has been all season.
  4. Last time I looked they didn't have them on sale yet. I thought maybe because we were holding back to see how many we needed first? Someone said I think that they sold about 100-120 last time?
  5. Pretty much my view @Harry Kinnear. The only 2 reasons I can think that we wouldn't want non regular fans to come to games are (1) they cause trouble - very unlikely (2) they take a more regular fans seat - won't/shouldn't happen We should be encouraging as many non regulars as we can as often as we can. More fans means more atmosphere, bigger crowds, more money, more success and more likely to tempt players to our club. Been covered before but there are loads of reasons people don't go to games regularly and to alienate them isn't sensible. Look at the amount of overseas guys on here who contribute to FSS etc as an example. People don't live locally, they get ill, they live away, they can't afford it, they become students, they have no-one to go with, they work shifts, they care for someone - there's literally a million reasons folks cant get to every/most games. My daughters had other commitments on Saturdays (after years of being season ticket holders) and only now are able to start getting back again to some games so people come and go dependant upon their life cycle. I get the feeling some of the folks that go on about "day trippers" on here are because they've lived in Falkirk all their lives and work 9-5 Monday to Friday. Great if that's the case but not everyone is in that position
  6. Slow to the party here but just realised you guys are now already able to advertise the play off games versus Hamilton given the league points and placings can't be caught. Interesting 4 fixtures you have coming up with Hamilton Falkirk Hamilton Hamilton! Seen a lot of the wasps this year and really hope its either yourselves (or Montrose) that come up with us as opposed to Hamilton/Inverness/Q Park. you've been playing some good stuff with some decent players under Andy Graham. Good luck for the rest of the season lads, with the exception of course to the cup winning/potential invincible game at TFS next week! Should be a cracker and great atmosphere.
  7. Agreed @NavyBlueArmy1876. Our home gate against Alloa in 2 weeks will be well over 7,000, bringing our average crowd in League 1 this season to over 4,750. Hardly inflation. This is with average away crowds of only 150. In the Championship average away crowds will be significantly higher, especially given the rivalries with the Pars, Airdrie, Raith, Morton etc. If anything crowds next season of 5000-6000 is an underestimate, even if he is referring to this season as opposed to the potential of next season that's only inflation of 5%. Hardly being clueless about League 1. Some individual Falkirk games this season have hit the crowds stated of 5,000-6,000 (and more). Despite 5 years of being served up despair, the Falkirk fans have stuck by the team, this, as a provincial club should be celebrated within the lower leagues. Many clubs, especially Montrose, who are rumoured to have made £40K at the title winning game would be in a far worse financial position without fans from clubs like ours making the effort to go to games.
  8. 100 tickets left for the North Stand (Alloa game). So looks like 7,000 home fans and over 7,000 if you include away fans. This will sell out, probably by this coming weekend (unless another block is opened up). I can't see Alloa selling tickets yet so maybe we are holding back to see what is needed for home fans? Still selling at an impressive 20-30 seats a day with just under 2 weeks to go. I can see another few reasons for an influx of sales - we don't lose to Annan, so the Invincibles for the season is on the hook for that day , end of the month pay day, folks who are unsure if they can make it at the moment being able to make it.
  9. Yep these last two games will be tough. Annans form is unbelievable given their position in the league (third over 10 games in league behind Hamilton and ourselves), they're playing for their lives and at home. They drew at ours too so that will give them belief. Alloas form is also good, watching them on alba just now and they look very good. Hopefully it'll be a dead rubber for them and they'll be taking it easy for the play offs. The annan game could be the tougher if the two especially with coll suspended. Hopefully Henderson and Mackie make it through the week and the game, not sure who the back up is without Lang and Donaldson if either of the other two get injured. We're so close to a once in a lifetime achievement.
  10. Another great result. Hopefully any suspension served by Coll is in the next two games against league 1 opposition and not dragged into next season against championship opposition. Does it carry or get wiped at season end?
  11. Voted for Coll for GOTS. It was a bit of a different strike from the other ones and he had to thread it through the eye of a needle to hit the top corner. Thought I'd be voting for one of Aidan Nesbitt's wonder goals this season but a few were missing from the list, that's been the challenge there have been so many great goals this season it was hard to get it down to a short list. Only 188 tickets left for the North Stand now for the Alloa game. (804 sold in the NS)
  12. Brilliant watch John and Ross thanks for putting this together. One of my all time favourite players for many reasons.
  13. Great problem to have. Might be logistically safer/easier to give Alloa all of Block F, use all of Block E as a bigger buffer (and Alloas sole exit to toilets/catering and give us the extra Block D only. That would give us another 357 seats to sell in addition to the 223 left in Blocks A-C - so 580 still to sell in the next 2 weeks or so. Tickets sales are starting to slow down slightly so maybe 35-40 a day is realistic from here on in. As BIE mentioned earlier though there may be a further push for tickets for the invincible last game if we go unbeaten in the next 2 games, add into that once people get paid at the end of the month and waiting to see if they are available and can actually make it. Don't think the club will want fans along the East side, I know its not that different from the likes of Edinburgh or Darvel, but safety certificates are probably required for something or other. Would be interesting though.
